Hello sir. Your creatinine is normal. If your BP and sugar is controlled and kidneys are normal in ultrasound then need not worry about protein in urine. It can occur in hypertensive pts.

Renal Stones - Treating It The Ayurveda Way!

Renal Stones - Treating It The Ayurveda Way!

‘Kidney stones’ is a disorder of the urinary tract wherein stones form in the kidney. This happens when solid particles in the urine become concentrated; the solid particles mostly being acid and mineral salts. This disorder can affect any part of the urinary tract: from the bladder to the kidneys. The treatment for this disorder is designed depending on the severity of your symptoms.

Symptoms
Once affected by this disorder, pain in the lower abdominal region will be common. The pain may get aggravated when you urinate. You may also exhibit symptoms of vomiting, nausea and a constant urge to urinate. Hematuria (presence of blood in the urine) is another symptom common to this disorder.

Causes
There is no single known cause for kidney stones. These stones occur when certain solid particles such as uric acid and calcium are present in the urine in large amounts. However, certain factors that increase the risk of kidney stones are:

  1. Family history of kidney stones
  2. Lack of sufficient water in the body or dehydration
  3. Eating foods which are loaded with sugar and salts
  4. Obesity

Ayurvedic treatment
Ayurvedic remedies for kidney stones are natural and free from side effects. Apart from relieving the symptoms, they also help in improving your overall well-being. These remedies balance the various doshas in the body and thus, lead to improved functioning of the abdominal organs. The Ayurvedic remedies for kidney stones are:

  1. Stay hydrated: Staying hydrated is the basic you can do to either prevent kidney stones or treating the condition. Dehydration is one of the most important causes for the formation of kidney stones.
  2. Avoid certain foods: You need to avoid consumption of certain foods such as apples, tomatoes and cheese which increase the risks of kidney stones.
  3. Exercise on a regular basis: You need to chalk down and stick to an exercise regimen to keep your weight at optimal levels. Remember that obesity is a major contributor to kidney stones.

I am 30 years old from last 2 years if I don' t have sex or regular basis then a white fluid comes out after urine. I have gone to all most all the urologist of Dehradun but my problem is still there. All the urologist had written a antibiotic and urine infection tablets. They are also not of use. I have also got my TRUS and other urine test and ultrasound all are clear. Kindly advice

Dear , I think you are worried unnecessarily. For a young and healthy adult it is quite common to have this. You are producing enough and utilising and then even mild straining at the end of urination full periurethral gland and even seminal vesicles will overflow. So do not worry and enjoy life. I have read your message. I think I can help you. The best solution for uti remains antibiotics. However since you are reluctant to take antibiotics I will tell you about other measures. Please remember that these measures are usually just additional measures. 1 . take a urine alkaliniser like alkasol syrup. 2. plenty of fluids. 3. plenty of cranberry juice. 4. clean laundry. Avoid spices alcohol . I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in the message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem.

Please advise surgical treatment of stricture of bulbar urethra (post traumatic-pelvic injury and post catheterization)

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Please advise surgical treatment of stricture of bulbar urethra (post traumatic-pelvic injury and post catheterization)
Some patients may opt to manage their stricture disease with periodic urethral dilations. The goal is to stretch the scar without producing additional scarring. It may be curative in patients with isolated epithelial strictures (no involvement of corpus spongiosum). Internal urethrotomy Internal urethrotomy involves incising the stricture transurethrally using endoscopic equipment. The incision allows for release of scar tissue. Success depends on the epithelialization process finishing before wound contraction significantly reduces the urethral lumen caliber. The incision is made under direct vision at the 12 o'clock position, either with a “cold” knife or urethrotome or a “hot” knife that uses electrocautery to cut through the scar tissue. Care must be taken not to injure the corpora cavernosa because this could lead to erectile dysfunction. Complications include recurrence of stricture, which is the most common complication, bleeding, or extravasation of irrigation fluid into perispongial tissues, thus increasing the fibrotic response. The curative success rate is reported as 20%-35%, with no increase in the success rate with a second internal urethrotomy procedure. Typically, an indwelling urethral catheter is left in place for 3-5 days to oppose wound contraction forces and allow epithelialization. Longer periods of catheterizations have not been shown to reduce failure rates. Self-catheterization after internal urethrotomy has been used to improve cure rates by maintaining patency of the urethral lumen. However, strictures typically return once the patient stops.[8] Permanent urethral stents Permanent urethral stents are placed endoscopically. Stents are designed to be incorporated into the wall of the urethra and provide a patent lumen. They are most successful in short-length strictures in the bulbous urethra. Complications occur when a stent is placed distal to the bulbous urethra, causing pain while sitting or during intercourse. Other complications involve migration of the stent. This procedure is contraindicated in patients with dense strictures and in patients with prior substitution urethral reconstruction because it elicits a hypertrophic reaction. It may be best reserved for patients who are medically unfit to undergo lengthy open urethral reconstruction procedures
