I have back pain from about 2 months. Relived when I take pain killer but not permanently. What can I do.
Hello there, back pain can occur due to numerous reasons, your daily activities, load on your back in your daily routine, your job profile and many more. And yes, if the the cause of pain is not diagnosed or treated, you will lend up in repetitive pain just as you described. The simple reason for this is, any painkiller will only suppress the pain signals conveyed to the brain and you will feel better untill its in blood circulation, they will never treat the actual cause of pain. To be able to get rid of your pain, what I recommend is to go to a good physiotherapist and get your pain assessed, because with the limited information available I can not provide you a diagnosis and hence can not comment on any exercises as such. Physiotherapy can help you get rid of your pain and treat your cause as well hence you will feel better without painkiller, so do not waste time before you see a physiotherapist. Get well soon, take care.

I have lower back pain. Will Physiotherapy help? Is Ayurvedic oil massage and heat application useful ?

Hi, This is Dr Akshay from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi. The treatment depends upon severity of pain and its cause. If degeneration is not much and there is no significant pressure on cord or roots, then physical therapy with medications will be useful. Thanks & Regards Dr Akshay akshaysaxena2004@yahoo.co.in

Hello there, pain in knee can be due to numerous reasons and the precise one has to be found out. For this a physiotherapist can help you by a thorough assessment. And based on the diagnosis he can prescribe you right exercises to treat the structure causing pain. My clinical experience says, no medicines work 100% effectively for any joint related pain, because it just suppress the pain signals conveyed to the brain untill its in circulation, they do not treat the cause hence you get the pain back once the medicine is out of blood circulation. The better option is specific and right exercises, yes they will take time, but they will heal your cause of the problem, so better and long lasting relief from pain in a natural way. So, in my opinion please visit a physiotherapist before wasting time. Hope you get well soon, take care.

Get a mri done to pin point the cause and site of pain. Meanwhile go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti (specialised panchakarma procedure for backpains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. This will greatly help. Please avoid pushing / pulling heavy objects, long sittings, long two-wheeler drives. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking.

I'm 20years old. But am getting very weak. My legs are always get pain. please give me a solution for this.
For leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Do any exercise which you enjoy and it should not cause any pain (cycling, swimming or yoga). Do not starve to loose weight. It should be slow and steady process. Stop eating three types of food - 1. Sugar or any food item which has added sugar. 2. Rice. 3. Wheat or food items made up of wheat. Let me know the result after 3 months.

> Change your grip position to avoid an acute bend at the wrist. > Wrist wraps can help in the short term, but it's better to strengthen your wrists. The way to improve your wrists isn’t by doing more heavy lifts. Instead, work the small muscles around the wrist that provide support. 1> Use grip-based exercises to indirectly improve wrist strength: Pull ups, chest presses, biceps curl etc 2> Do wrist stretches for improving flexibility: Go for Prayer stretches, Wrist flexor stretch and Wrist extensor stretch. Drop a feedback if you find it useful. Regards!

After injury pain of osteoarthritis can increase that is called as acute-on-chronic osteoarthritis, with period of rest and medicines it should subside. For chronic problem you can take cartilage protecting agents that can be prescribed by Orthopaedic surgeon. If arthritis in your knee joint is in advanced stage, surgery is an option.
