Hi, I am 42 years old and pregnant having bp problem taking amlopres half tablet for that is any risk for me or baby ...
Amlopres is actually amylodepine, which is a calcium channel blocker. At 42 years there is risk of aggravation of bp during pregnancy which will need higher dose of the drug. During the 5 the to 13th week, whilst the baby's organs are forming, any drug therapy can be detrimental. It may be advisable to switch to safer drugs for bp like alfa methyldopa during the first 3 months and then switch back or add amylodepine later if necessary. Besides this there may be some risk of growth retardation in the baby as well. These issues are not absolute and should not cause unnecessary worry, since it is also possible to have a full term health baby as well, if managed by an experienced doctor. They will keep a close watch and treat if and when a problem arises.

200 Calories!

B.Sc. Food & Nutrition, M.Sc. Food & Nutrition

200 Calories!

Doesn't really sound like much, does it? especially when your daily calorie requirement is somewhere between 1500-2500. Given that calorie intake varies from person to person, based on gender, weight, age, and various other factors; the calories consumed don't change a bit no matter who's consuming them.

If someone says 200 calories, it seems like nothing when we talk about desserts and fried food, but it seems like a lot in context to fruits and healthy food. So let's take a look at some pictures of food depicting 200 calories to figure out how much is too much.

First is some fish, particularly salmon. This amount is great for a filling healthy snack. Add some vegetables or some vinegar to make it a perfect dinner.

Then comes 3 small pieces of brown bread which is actually more than enough for a light snack.

Pasta in that amount makes 200 calories, so you add some chicken or vegetables and mix it up in a great sauce to make it a healthy meal under 500 calories.

One full glass of white wine comes up to 92 calories, so you easily kick back and enjoy 2 glasses of wine!

Potatoes the best sin. French fries an even deadlier sin! but be careful not to order a large amount, stick to a small portion for a quick snack.

Now don't look at the brownies and get too excited, you're allowed only one such piece because that's around 190 calories.

White rice can be consumed in more than a mouthful, though; you can enjoy one full bowl of white rice without worrying about more than 200 calories.

3 boiled eggs the perfect healthy snack, which is astoundingly so filling is another snack under 200 calories.

One glass of full-fat milk comes up to 200 calories, which is why it is a recommended midnight snack.

Then, we have one whole chicken breast, which can be spruced up with sauce or cooked in any manner without worrying about too many calories.

A plate full of fruit such as kiwi makes up 200 calories now that's a great way to feel full and be healthy!

Black coffee makes up for barely 10 calories. And if you have it with sugar that'll be around 30-40 calories. This means you're allowed 5-8 cups a day (it's safe to assume you will become a night owl after such consumption). If you like your coffee with milk and sugar, that's almost 100 calories so you're allowed 2 cups of that.

Your morning cup provides more than just a jolt of caffeine. Well, now you know what 200 calories look like. In some cases, it's barely a mouthful, while it's more than a yummy meal in others. Another great way to make sure you're snacking under 200 calories or consuming the necessary amount, download a calorie counter app. It allows you to record every food item and shows you the total amount of calories you consumed.

Here's to some healthy snacking, some unhealthy binging (once in a while) and an overall diet within your calorie budget.

Enjoy your healthy meals:)

Tips for a Healthier Skin

6 common skin problems you suffer from in the hot weather and tips to deal with them

Summer season is a hard time for not just the body but even your skin. As the temperature soars, the heat becomes unbearable, for both--body and skin. While you've trained your body to fight the heat, and keep cool; the same is needed for your delicate skin too.

The answer lies in keeping yourself well-hydrated, protecting your skin from sun exposure and reducing conditions open to infection

Multiple factors combine to make your skin irritable during summers. Along with the heat that puts a lot of pressure, is sweating. However, sometimes dirt and dust clog the sweat ducts of the skin, trapping the perspiration. This can result in itchy rashes, blisters or minibumps. Clothes can make them irritable all the more due to friction.

Prevent this condition by keeping yourself squeaky clean, if you sweat. Bath twice a day, particularly so, when you end your day. Use an anti-bacterial soap or bath gel. Keep yourself dry as much as possible. Rubbing the affected skin with ice cubes can help soothe the irritation. If the condition persists, meet a dermatologist.

It is not just your body but also your skin that bears the brunt of dehydration. As we sweat, we continuously lose hydration from the skin. If not sufficiently replenished, this can leave the skin dry, irritated and more prone to sunburn. Your lips may start cracking and dry patches may appear all over it.

The most logical answer is to drink as much water as you can. Carry a water bottle with you all the time, do not go without sipping once every half an hour. Also add a lot of juices and summer fruits to your intake. Fruits like watermelon which are full of water content are particularly good for the body and skin during summers. You can also seek deep hydrating treatments like hydrating electroporation therapy, oxygen therapy or juvederm refine to pamper your skin.

The summer sun is so harsh that it can scorch your skin, causing red patches, rashes that give a burning sensation. This happens more in people who have sensitive skin. In simple language, it is the sun burning up your soft and sensitive skin.

Logically, the only way to protect your skin against this condition is minimise sun exposure. At the same time equally important is to wear a sunscreen religiously. Apply a sunblock cream liberally all over your face, neck and arms 20 minutes before stepping out. Make sure you re-apply the same every four to five hours to ensure continuous protection. It is also advisable for people who have sensitive skin to wear clothes covering as much skin as possible during the day time. Ending your day with an aloe vera gel face pack will cool down the sunburnt skin.

The sweat makes our skin a magnet to the daily dose of dust, grime and pollution floating in the air, particularly if we spend some time outdoors. This combination of heat and dirt is a perfect recipe for acne and pimples to grow. The dust clogs the skin's pores while the heat gives bacteria a perfect environment to thrive.

To minimise acne, regular care should be taken to keep the skin clean. You should carry your facewash with you and give your face a quick wash at least thrice in a day or whenever you think it is needed to clean-up. Use a good facial cleanser every evening so that your skin pores are free of dirt; use anti-bacterial face wash; and end your day with a cooling application of multani mitti or sandalwood face pack to contain inflammation. Often acne might need medical attention. So, if your breakouts do not subside, do visit a dermatologist. You may need hormonal correction.

The hot temperature gives many bacteria and viruses a perfect thriving environment. The bacteria are everywhere, and you cannot even see them. People who use public transport, keep moving in crowded places and are much more prone to come in contact with multiple bacterial infections. Even the bus seat or window you touch with your hand may be carrying bacteria. These hands then touch our face, often resulting in skin infections.

Try to keep your hands clean and washed most of the times. Carry a handwash and keep washing every couple of hours. If this is not possible use a hand sanitiser. And give up the habit of touching your face with your fingers all the time. Folliculitis is a common condition when the damaged hair follicles get infected by bacteria, resulting in inflammation. To prevent this, wear lose clothes, avoid using swimming pools which are not properly disinfected, and prevent cuts while shaving.

When exposed to the sun's uv radiation, the skin's melanin reacts by forming a protective shield. The melanin results in dark pigmentation, either uniformly all over or in patches on the skin. The result is what we call skin darkening, tanning or hyper-pigmentation.

Using a sunscreen of at least 30 spf and reapplying is important, so is wearing sunglasses to prevent dark circles. To undo the effects of tanning, seek procedures like laser skin rejuvenation, chemical peels or microdermabrasion. Your dermatologist will suggest the right procedure for your needs.

My vision is declining continuously as power of glasses increasing. Please tell some method to improve eyesight.
Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 26 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik after age of 18 yrs.

Dear Lybrate User, First of all let me make it clear that you may experience nightfalls/Nocturnal Emission of sperm for twice in a month if you do not have a habit of masturbation or if you do not indulge in any sexual intercourse. However, if you experience nightfalls for more than twice in a month then it is surely abnormal. Every person experience an erection after a sleep of 6-8 hours. Such an erection during waking up from sleep is a typical characteristic of normal sexual system. An uninterrupted sleep of 6-8 hours pacifies the nerves which get hyper-activated after a long day's work & results in a sexual arousal by channelising the blood flow towards the male sexual system. But an erected penis cannot ejaculate involuntarily unless it is being rubbed as it undergoes during masturbation & sexual intercourse. Involuntary ejaculation of semen indicates that the internal muscles of your pelvic region are not strong enough to control the outflow of semen. However, nightfalls indicate that you are having a normal erection as well as it also proves that there is no deficit of sperm production in testis. Nightfall implies that there is only loss of control of the pelvic muscles. It is often observed that a person suffering from nightfalls complains of premature ejaculation during sexual intercourse if his problem of nightfalls is left untreated. The cause behind such quick discharge during sex is same as it is in case of nightfalls i.e. Loss of the control of the muscles of pelvic region. One of the common causes behind the loss of control of pelvic muscles is Digestive troubles. Slow digestion compels the blood to circulate around the organs of digestive system until the ingested food is fully broken down into soluble food molecules. Such circulation of blood around the digestive system for a prolonged period often results in sluggish circulation of blood around the other systems of human body. Sexual system is one of such system whose normal functioning gets disturbed due to impaired digestion. To get rid of nightfalls carry on the following medication as directed:- 1) 5 drops of Homoeopathic CHINA 30 or CINCHONA OFFICINALIS 30, thrice daily, in empty stomach. 2) Take 30 drops of Homoeopathic Mother Tincture WITHANIA SOMNIFERA Q in a cup of water daily after lunch Apart from medicines You could try a home therapy. Soak 5 grams of Fennel seeds (SNOUFF) & 5 grams of Rock Candy (MISRI) in a glass of water before going to bed daily. On waking up next morning drink the Snouf-Misri soaked water in empty stomach. Kindly note that this medication may not be sufficient enough to take care of your problem. These medicines are based on the symptoms of your diseased condition & these medicines need to be complemented by further deep-acting remedies in order to permanently eliminate the underlying cause of the disease. So I would suggest you to consult me privately via Lybrate as it is very necessary to diagnose the proper underlying cause of your problem if you are wishing for a permanent relief from your problems. A permanent annihilation of the underlying cause of the disease will not only provide you relief from your troubles but it will also cease any chance of further relapse of that particular disease condition.

He got lypoma on left side of the forehead. How to treat it. Please let me know asap.
Treatment can include simple excision, endoscopic removal, or liposuction and it depends on the size, number and location of lipomas. Simple excision is usually done for superficial lipomas and is done under anesthesia by giving and excision and removing the contents of the lipoma. Then these contents are sent for histopathological examination. Liposuction has more recurrence rate but in surgical incisional removal, since it is removed completely, including the capsule, the recurrence rate is less.
