Some children are late. But, before concluding anything you do her blood cbc, tft and inform me. Meanwhile you try to make her speak, (speech therapy by yourself) and I need her birth & development (like when she turned over and smiles, started telling baa baa) weight at birth and now head circumference and birth history (normal, caesarean and if baby kept in incubator, feed given now) to give a scientific advice. All details and you can remain in touch with me personally to be your private doctor if you wish!

First of all, if you bottle feed, stop bottle and feed from a cup or glass/ sipper (not nipple & bottle) and of course breast milk to continue. Bottle fed babies usually show this kind of stools. Then inform me.

My son is only one months he always cry and search for milk either his stomach is full and when it get out start to cry please help me

M.D.( Pediatrics), DCH
Pediatrician,
Crying child needs support. He may not be hungry as no mother usually wait to feed till child becomes hungry. So even if child is not hungry he will cry for any discomfort he experiences. It is usually for want of love and affection, fear out of lonely feeling or any other physical discomfort. It is the only way by which he will express his feelings. There is no fault on mother's/parents part. Parents need to support him emotionally, rather than becoming panic. That will develop trust and bonding. It must be looked up on as an opportunity to make him feel secure and building bond there by. Hope this helps. All babies cry whatever you do.

My daughter gets stomach ache during first two days of menstruation cycle. What steps should be taken to relieve her of the pain?

Give her antispasmodic tablet on the first day of anticipated period, even if she is having irregular one. Taking tablet won't harm her but severe pain and collapse may.

Passage of urine depends on the amount of water consumed. If you are continuing breastfeeding nothing to worry.

After c section I have no breastfeeding first 8 days after that I have very low supply what is my problem.

Pediatrician, Kaithal
Late starting of breastfeeding is the main cause, as baby sucking is best stimulation for better breast milk output. Continue to feed. Also check your medicines, you are taking. If there is Pyridoxine in any drug, please stop it as it also decreases milk output.

Hallo, doctor my son age 5 month 15 days, weight:- 5. 3kg, he had suffered the whole of heart (size-6mm). So what I can do?

M.D.( Pediatrics), DCH
Pediatrician,
Watch the growth of heart, usually it should close by itself. Serial 2decho would help monitor the hole in septum(vsd). If it is asd will need surgical closer. In any case meet paediatric cardiologist.

best treatment for allergies is ro avoid allergens . just avoid anything he is allergic to . may be dust ,pollen or any food . as allergy is immune mediated ,you can not suppress it forever .

Please tell her weight and change formula and feed it with a cup and spoon and not from bottle. If you keep feeding there should be sufficient milk, from 4 months you can start giving homemade semi solids like kitchri, dal mashed and banana mashed egg yolk mashed to paste like consistency. For regular advice on child rearing you ask me personally.

Breastfed Babies Have Lower Childhood Leukemia Risk

MBBS
General Physician, Himatnagar
Breastfed Babies Have Lower Childhood Leukemia Risk
When you are having a baby, chances are good that lots of people will have lots of advice. One of the things they’ll probably recommend is breastfeeding. Everyone from your obstetrician to the nurses in the maternity ward to possibly even your friends and family will tell you that it’s important to nurse, and with good reason. Breastfeeding has been linked with lots of benefits including better bonding with your infant, losing those pregnancy pounds faster, and a higher IQ in your child. And now, new research offers up yet another reason it is important to breastfeed–possibly decreasing the likelihood that your baby will develop leukemia as a child.
The study, which was conducted at the University of Haifa in Israel, found that nursing may lower the risk of pediatric leukemia by 14 to 19 percent. The scientists reached this conclusion by performing a meta-analysis of 18 studies that had been previously published. The subjects of each of the 18 investigations were mothers of children who had been diagnosed with leukemia and mothers of children who were healthy. They were asked questions that included whether or not they breastfed their children and their responses were compiled and compared.
The research was not designed to prove cause and effect, and these findings in no way show that failure to nurse a baby causes pediatric leukemia. However, that difference of 14 to 19 percent is significant enough to establish an association between breastfeeding and lowering a child’s risk of this disease. The scientists found that it was a minimum of six months of breastfeeding that appears to confer some type of protection.
The major weakness of this type of study is that the findings are based on recall. You might think that you would certainly remember the length of time that you nursed a child, but if you are asked about it several years later and have more than one kid, some of the details might be a little fuzzy. However, even if that is an issue, it stands to reason that most mothers can provide a fairly accurate account of whether or not they breastfed and the approximate duration.
At any rate, even if the 14 to 19 percent determined by the scientists is slightly off, the evidence still provides a link to reducing the chance of your child developing leukemia. And any potential reduction of a risk like that is something most mothers would jump at. Leukemias, which affect the bone marrow and blood, are responsible for approximately 30 percent of all pediatric cancers according to the American Cancer Society. It is the most common form of childhood cancer, and treatment typically involves chemotherapy and sometimes radiation or surgery as well.
While the research did not address exactly how breastfeeding might help prevent pediatric leukemia, the answer might lie in a 2014 study at the University of Kentucky in Lexington that showed breast milk is an effective route of transmitting antibodies from mother to baby. These antibodies serve a valuable function by quickly bringing the infant’s immune system up to speed and helping the child fight off infections. And as Jon Barron has pointed out, cancer is intimately tied to the strength of your immune system. Other research has found that breastfed babies are hospitalized less frequently than their bottle-fed counterparts, have a lower risk of sudden infant death syndrome, and have diminished rates of ear infections, diarrhea, allergies, anddiabetes.
Ultimately, to breastfeed a child or not is a matter of choice. But with so many proven health benefits to both infant and mother (breastfeeding has been shown to reduce your risk of breast and ovarian cancer as well as rheumatoid arthritis), it is hard to imagine many reasons why a woman would choose formula over nursing. Of course sometimes there are extenuating circumstances due to an adoption, inability to produce sufficient quantities of breast milk, and other issues that might preclude nursing. But any time spent breastfeeding is worthwhile for the health of both you and your little one.

Sir my son is one and half year old but he don't intake milk a single ml. He only drinks milk from bootle when he is in deep sleep otherwise he refuses to take milk. I had tried many flovours in milk nt he refuses just by seeing n drinking it. Please help me I am much worried about his deficiency for calcium.

Pediatrician, Pune
Not more than 2 cups of milk is required for childs growth, in addition giving extra milk reduces appetite, and the child does not take the diet, solid food essential for his growth, also excessive milk causes iron deficiency anemia, constipation, additional supplementation of milk may not be required, enhance his other food intake, rice dal, chapati, all of which contain sufficient calcium, outdoor playing and exposing to sunlight provides the require vit d and calcium for his growth.

Hi I guess her sleep is interrupted during night only. You just check whether her nostrils are blocked or not, passing urine or stool and become wet or not, because these are the common cause of discomfort during sleep. Regarding pressure this is normal if she is on exclusive breast feeding. Regurgitation of feed 2-3 times a day is normal. Proper burping can reduce the freguency of regurgitation.
