I had an oblique stable fracture in my 5th metacarpal shaft and it has been a month that I have put on the cast. Before putting on the cast I had a soft plaster done for a week, probably to reduce the swelling. Now my xray on 23rd January says callus formation seen but soft tissue swelling remains. I wanted to ask if it is OK to remove the plaster now or should I keep it for some more time.

BPT, MPT - Orthopedic Physiotherapy
Physiotherapist, Sangrur
Hello lybrate user as a ortho-physio specialist I would like to suggest you must complete the time period for pop cast as advised by your ortho-surgeon. A doctor always try to give his best suggestion or advice according to condition of affected part or joint. So after removal of pop cast do some exercise and consult to a expert physio for better re-education of muscles and for a good recovery.

Thanks for the query. Maintaining your routine is the best option. Still if you r awake for studies it's better to have naps in between. Avoid too much coffee in night. Nervousness also leads to giddiness. Better relax and do deep breathing exercises. Have good breakfast in the morning as you will have energy to work. Drink plenty of liquids. Hope this helps you.

Diet for Psoriasis

Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine (H.M.D.)
Homeopath, Belgaum
Diet for Psoriasis

There's no strong scientific evidence that specific foods can impact psoriasis, but there is evidence that losing extra weight can ease symptoms. Nutritionists and physicians recommend a healthy, balanced diet to control your weight and your psoriasis, as well as lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke (which are elevated in people with psoriasis).
Best Food For Psoriasis
Carrots and squash
"A diet that's high in fruits and vegetables can have an anti-inflammatory effect,". And although there are no studies connecting fruits and vegetables specifically with a reduction in psoriasis symptoms, psoriasis is an inflammatory condition. Specific vegetables that might have inflammation fighting properties include carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, and broccoli.
Fish and seafood
Omega-3 fatty acids abundant in fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, sardines, and albacore tuna are the foundation of a heart healthy diet. Fish oils are thought to reduce inflammation and help the immune system, which is overactive in people with psoriasis. Given that psoriasis is also linked to a higher risk of heart attack and stroke, it's a good idea to eat fish at least twice a week.
Grains
Grains such as whole grain bread, cereal, and pasta; oatmeal; and brown rice are another component of an overall healthy diet. Like fruits and vegetables, grains also contain a variety of anti inflammation antioxidants and are high in fiber, which has been linked with lower inflammation levels and better regulation of blood sugar. Legumes such as beans and lentils also have antioxidants and fiber, so include them in your diet as well.
Nuts and avocados
Fats in general get a bad rap, but there are such things as "good fats." These include the polyunsaturated fats found in nuts, vegetable oils, and avocados, and monounsaturated fats found in soybean oil, walnuts, flaxseed, and certain fish. They're good for you in general (when taken in moderation, of course they still can pack in the calories). Stay away from saturated fats and trans fats, which may increase inflammation in the body.
Blueberries
Not only do blueberries have anti-inflammatory properties, but also lots of vitamin C, manganese (good for bone health), and fiber. All this while low in fat. Other fruits that may have anti-inflammatory properties include mangoes, strawberries, and figs. But you really can’t go wrong with any fruits, which are right up there with vegetables on the “good-for-you” list. Scientists are only just beginning to uncover other healthful properties of fruits. Blueberries, for instance, may also boost memory and fight heart disease.

Know How Much Size Matters During Sex

Sexual Health Clinic
Sexologist, Delhi
Know How Much Size Matters During Sex

Men are always concerned about the size of their penis, and in extreme cases, this concern is also a cause of anxiety disorders. When it comes to the connection between sex and penis size, many men believe that bigger is better. But this is not the case. A large penis does not provide men with any edge, in terms of sexual pleasure. Other factors like erectile function and length of sexual intercourse play a more important role in sexual pleasure.
The very limited proof that is available on the relationship between pleasure during sex and penis size comes from research conducted on vaginal orgasm. The two concerned studies reveal that women who opt for deeper vaginal stimulation prefer longer penises. But vaginal orgasms in women are a rarity with most women experiencing clitoral orgasm. The conclusion arrived at in these two studies was that penis size was in no way related to clitoral orgasm.
Moreover, since the clitoral tissue is known to be present below the skin on each side of the vagina, it could be one of the factors that contribute to experiences of vaginal orgasm. In such circumstances, the role that penis size plays over here is one of eliciting pleasure. For the small number of women who are able to achieve their climax from vaginal penetration, studies reveal that penis length is never a deciding factor.
Apart from a boost in confidence, a larger penis doesn't mean better sexual performance.
Fact: In fact, a larger penis can lead to the difficulty between partners during anal and oral sex.

Dear user, I can understand. You must understand the difference between alcohol addiction and abuse. You can definitely quit alcohol in one go. Just stop it and swear not to drink again. Engage yourself in games and other engaging activities during evenings or when you feel the urge. Just a week, your habit should change. There are many other methods, which you can see through internet. The best method is what I suggested. Please try it without fail. Take care.

Penis pain Penile pain Penis pain Penile pain can affect the base, shaft, or head of the penis. It can also affect the foreskin. An itching, burning, or throbbing sensation may accompany the pain. Penile pain can be a result of an accident or disease, and it can affect males of any age. The pain can vary depending on what underlying condition or disease is causing it. If you have an injury, the pain may be severe and occur suddenly. If you have a disease or condition, the pain may be mild and may gradually get worse. Any type of pain in the penis is a cause for concern, particularly if it occurs during an erection, prevents urination, or occurs along with discharge, sores, redness, or swelling. Causes of Pain in the Penis Peyronie’s Disease Peyronie’s disease starts when an inflammation causes a thin sheet of scar tissue, called plaque, to form along the upper or lower ridges of the shaft of the penis. Because the scar tissue forms next to the tissue that becomes hard during an erection, you may notice that your penis bends when it’s erect. The disease can happen if bleeding inside the penis starts after you bend or hit it. Priapism Priapism causes a painful, prolonged erection. This erection can happen even when you don’t want to have sex. Priapism can be due to: side effects of drugs used to treat erection problems or drugs or self injection used to treat depression blood clotting disorders mental health disorders blood disorders, such as leukemia or sickle cell anemia alcohol use illegal drug use injury to the penis or spinal cord Balanitis Balanitis is an infection of the foreskin and the head of the penis. It usually affects men and boys who don’t wash under the foreskin regularly or who haven’t been circumcised, although those who have been circumcised can also get it. It also can happen if you have a yeast infection, a sexually transmitted disease or an allergy to soaps, perfumes, or other products. Sexually Transmitted Diseases: Infection with an STD can cause penile pain. Chlamydia gonorrhea genital herpes syphilis Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) A urinary tract infection (UTI) is more common in women, but it can also happen in men. A UTI happens when bacteria invade and infect your urinary tract. An infection might happen if you: are uncircumcised have a weakened immune system have a problem or blockage in your urinary tract have sex with someone who has an infection have anal sex have an enlarged prostate Injuries Like any other part of your body, an injury can damage your penis. Injuries can happen if you: are in a car accident get burned have rough sex put a ring around your penis to prolong an erection insert objects into your urethra, which is the tube that carries urine out of your penis Phimosis and Paraphimosis Phimosis happens in uncircumcised males when the foreskin of the penis is too tight and it can’t be pulled away from the head of the penis. It usually happens in children, but it can also occur if balanitis or an injury causes scarring in the foreskin. A related condition called paraphimosishappens if your foreskin pulls back from the head of the penis, but then can’t return to its original position covering the penis. Paraphimosis is a medical emergency because it can stop you from urinating and may cause the death of the tissue in the penis. Cancer Penile cancer is another cause of pain in the penis, although it’s uncommon. Certain factors increase your chances of getting cancer, including: smoking not being circumcised having a human papillomavirus infection not cleaning under your foreskin if you’re uncircumcised being treated for psoriasis. Treatment: Treatment varies depending on the condition or disease: Injections soften Peyronie’s disease plaques, and a surgeon can remove them in severe cases. Draining the blood from the penis with a needle helps reduces an erection if you have priapism. Medication may also lower the amount of blood flowing to the penis. Antibiotics treat UTIs and some STDs, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Antibiotics and antifungal medications can also treat balanitis. Antiviral medications can help reduce or shorten herpes outbreaks. Stretching the foreskin with your fingers may make it looser if you have phimosis. Steroid creams rubbed on your penis can also help. In some cases, surgery is necessary. Icing the head of your penis reduces swelling in paraphimosis. Your doctor also may suggest putting pressure on the head of the penis. They can also inject drugs into the penis to help it drain, or they can make small cuts in the foreskin to decrease swelling. A surgeon can remove cancerous parts of the penis. Treatment for penile cancer also may include radiation treatment or chemotherapy. Preventing Pain in the Penis You can take some steps to reduce your chances of developing pain, such as using condoms when you have sex, avoiding sex with anyone who has any kind of active infection, and asking sexual partners to avoid rough movements that bend your penis. If you’re having repeated infections or other problems with your foreskin, having a circumcision or cleaning under your foreskin every day can help. Long-Term Outlook If you experience pain in the penis, consult with your doctor right away. Early diagnosis and treatment of the underlying cause can drastically affect your health and well-being. If an STD is the cause of your penile pain, alert your current or potential partners to avoid spreading the infection.
