I am suffering from jaundice from last 6 to 7 years. My bilirubin range in blood varies from 2 to 7. Doctors call it gilbert syndrome. Is it really such syndrome thanks.

MBBS, MD, DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Indore
Gilbert Syndrome is a common, harmless genetic condition in which a liver enzyme essential to the disposal of bilirubin (the chemical that results from the normal breakdown of hemoglobin from red blood cells) is abnormal. The elevated bilirubin pigment can sometimes cause mild yellowing (jaundice) of the eyes. People with Gilbert syndrome are otherwise entirely normal with no other signs or symptoms. Their liver enzyme levels in blood serum are also entirely normal. Situations that aggravate elevated blood bilirubin levels (such as fasting, destruction of red blood cells, or illnesses) may be the initial factors that cause the patient to seek medical attention. No treatment is needed for majority of patients. It is not dangerous. There is no health problems associated with this condition and thus most patients do not need any therapy. Patients with Gilbert's syndrome have a normal life expectancy and do not have a raised risk of other liver ailments.

Dear lybrate user, you should take the following medications as directed:- 1) 5 drops of homoeopathic sulphur 200 once in a week. 2) 5 drops of homoeopathic aesculus hip 30 at early morning daily before brushing teeth 3) 5 drops of homoeopathic podophyllum 30 before going to bath daily. 4) 5 drops of homoeopathic hammamelis 30, just one hour before dinner daily. If you experience bleeding during stool then you need to carry on the following home-therapy:- i) pour about 50 ml of liquid betadiene in a tub of lukewarm water & stir it until it is mixed. Ii) sit inside that tub of lukewarm water in a squatting position so that the betadiene mixed water can come in contact with the point of bleeding. Iii) maintain this position for at least 30 minutes daily. Follow the aforesaid rules & continue the aforesaid medication for one month.

Hi, I can understand how you must be feeling like at this moment. Generally sometimes becoz of fullness dye to cold we may be feel the hearing to be reduced or even may hear your own voice louder than usual which may come back to normal once the cold comes down but if it persists beyond two weeks youbmay need to consult your local ent as they r chances of some infection in your ear.

Dear , you are anxious. What are the main process to control jaundice? What was the main process to control cigarette smoking?

BASM, MD, MS (Counseling & Psychotherapy), MSc - Psychology, Certificate in Clinical psychology of children and Young People, Certificate in Psychological First Aid, Certificate in Positive Psychology, Positive Psychiatry and Mental Health
Psychologist, Palakkad
Dear jaundice is hepatitis b. Please approach a physician for treatment. Medicines with dietary restrictions helps. Quitting smoking is no child's play and it takes time and courage. Best method is to completely quit today (now) and sustain with the help of your mind power. Mind power building therapy, motivation therapy etc should help you doing so.

There is absolutely no harmful effect. There are only myths about it. One can do it whenever he/ she wants. But remember, anything in excess is not useful. If you are addicted to it, it can divert your attention and may cause loss of concentration in studies, works and family life.

Piles: Why Should You Choose Homoeopathic Treatment for It?

Bachelor in Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS)
Homeopath, Dhanbad
Piles: Why Should You Choose Homoeopathic Treatment for It?

Piles or Haemorrhoids is a disease of the anal canal. The veins in this region get affected. They swell as blood stagnates inside them. This causes discomfort while passing stool. The most obvious symptoms of piles are bleeding and pain at the time of excretion or passing of the stool. For most of the patients with piles, sitting or standing becomes a tedious task.

What causes piles?
The primary reason behind the occurrence of piles is a patient’s sedentary lifestyle. Most of it also depends on upon his or her diet intake. Many of us consume a lot of carbohydrates, fats and proteins in our regular meals. But, we forget or are simply reluctant to take up physical exercises. This, in turn, leads to increase in body weight and hampers the activity of our digestive system. As a result, patients develop diseases like piles.

Diet plays a vital role in preventing piles. If we don’t add an adequate amount of fibre or roughage to our diet, there is a potential threat of developing piles. Fibres help with the convenient evacuation of the stool. In fact, fibres form the bulk of the stool. Besides, insufficient intake of water may also cause this disease.

Natural ways to tackle Piles
Piles can be managed or tackled by bringing in some changes in our lifestyle. Some of the ways of managing piles have been listed below:

  1. Add more roughage and fruits to your diet
  2. Exercise regularly
  3. Avoid laxatives
  4. Sit in a tub of hot water to get relief from the pain
  5. Drink plenty of water

Homoeopathic treatment for Piles
When it comes to the treatment of piles, Homeopathy is quite safe and an effective method to get rid of the problem. It doesn’t have any side effect on the patient’s health. It doesn’t include any painful surgery for removal of piles. Moreover, homoeopathy is budget-friendly. Homoeopathy deals with symptoms similarity. It is not disease-specific or drug-specific treatment. Here are some effective homoeopathic medicines, useful in curing piles:

  1. Hamamelis: This medicine is useful in stopping the bleeding in piles. It can cure any venous congestion and bleeding. It can also be taken when the patient develops a feeling of soreness.
  2. Ratanhia: It gives relief from the pain due to piles. A patient suffering from piles feels immense pain and a burning sensation at the time of stool evacuation and even for hours after that.
  3. Graphites: It is prescribed to a patient suffering from both constipation and piles. It is given to them who are obese, have skin eruptions and constipation.
  4. Nux Vomica: It is given to patients who have a sedentary lifestyle, take spicy food and are active smokers and alcohol drinkers. Usually, patients who have been advised to take Nux Vomica are aggressive in nature. It cures piles as well as digestive disorders.

Things to remember: These medicines are only some of the homoeopathic remedies available in the market.

This may be due to neck problem or your wrong posture. Do not use thick pillor. Sleep in right posture. Give support with a rolled towel or sheet under your neck not head at the time of sleeping. Also use heat pad under your neck for ten to fifteen minutes. Do massage of your neck for two three days.
