you have heard correctly but that is not very hygienic.one week after and one week before the period is safe provided her menstrual cycle is regular.

Hi lybrate-user, tooth removal should be last option. Pain n blackening in tooth can be treated extremely well with v good prognosis by fillings n root canals. And since its your last tooth try your level best to get it saved if you want to have fixed teeth.

as per your concern i would suggest you to do following remedy Natural home remedy using asparagus powder and milk: 1. Take 2 tsp Indian asparagus powder 2. Add 1 cup milk 3. Boil the mixture for 10 min 4. Drink 2 times every day if it dosent work then you must consult ayurveda doctor, They will surely help you.

Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one cup of water..If you use freshly ground black pepper, then just add one-quarter teaspoon...Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach....Do this daily for at least three months

I am 18 years female. I usually get very lethargic and hav excessive urination and extreme thirst. I fear that I may have diabetes. So what should I do?+

Rather than fear diabetes, please go and find out if you really have it. Get your blood tested. Do the following tests: FBS, 2 hour PPBS & HbA1c.

Hi Lybrate user, according to your height you are underweight but there is option to gain weight in healthy manner. To gain weight you must consume simple foods, which has enormous amount of calories & protein. Consuming lot of calories doesn’t mean that you have to over eat or over stuff yourself. You must always choose healthy sources of calorie dense foods. Eat foods with high amount of calories than your required metabolism. Never skip your meals and make sure you are including all varieties of foods like fruits, vegetables, cereals and foods with high protein in your diet. Dairy products like milk, yoghurt and cheese are rich in protein and calcium. If you are non-vegetarian then include Egg & meat Egg is a protein rich food with high amount of calories. Nuts are the most nutritious and protein rich food. Take small & frequent meal. Do regular walk/ exercise. You can take a private consultation to get a diet chart.

Why Should You Refrain From Having Multiple Sexual Partners?

Are you aware of the different consequences that may occur if you have multiple sexual partners? The more sexual partners you have, the risks of you getting an STI or sexually transmitted infection are enhanced. These infections are hard to treat, especially in patients with HIV. Until the infection is treated, your viral load may get pushed up. This makes it more likely that many people pass on the HIV virus by having unprotected sex.

What are the circumstances?

If you have sex with several partners, and one of them is infected with an STI, the virus is capable of being passed between you and all your partners. Many people end up having sex with each other without asking about STIs. This is risky as you can never tell if a person is infected by looking at them or having sex with them. If you are in a relationship with a mutual agreement of having sex outside the relationship, you need to be open and honest regarding any risk that you might have taken is a necessary part of looking after the sexual health of each other.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  1. People have multiple sexual partners because of various reasons. These may include the thrill of having sex, the need to be desired, and also because of drugs and alcohol use because of which inhibitions are reduced. However, drugs and alcohol are very harmful to your body, leaving a negative impact and weakening your immune system. Several drugs and excess alcohol consumption affect the way your immune system tackles STIs.

  2. Alcohol and drugs also make it more likely for you to practice risky sex, and take decisions which are unusual and unlikely to you in a sober state. Clouded judgement makes you avoid condoms while having sex. This might make you have sex with a partner despite knowing that you have got HIV. When your judgement is clouded, you may even skip the part of telling your partner about the fact that you have HIV.

For minimising your risk, in spite of having multiple sexual partners, you must always carry condoms with you. You should also avoid having sex when under the influence of alcohol and drugs. These are effective steps you should take to protect yourself and your sexual partner or partners from getting affected by HIV. You can also join a support group or consult a counsellor for advice regarding your situation. Having multiple sexual partners can also result in psychological disturbances.

Motherhood is one of the most honourable and challenging adventures of a woman’s life. Every mother in the world has her dreams of being a perfect mother and running a perfectly balanced household. The dream involves a spotless, sparkling clean beautiful home with shiny kitchen faucets, clean dishes, folded clothes, clean happy children and a happy satisfied husband. It would be great if you could all have that perfectly balanced picture perfect life, but unfortunately, that is not the case. Every single day, every mother is faced with a challenging question – what is more important, a clean house or time with the family, or time for herself.

  1. Set time aside to take care of yourself. Mothers who do not take care of themselves will eventually have nothing else to give. Investing in yourself is an investment in your family. You have to struggle with sleep deprivation and exhaustion, in addition to not having any time for your own self.
  2. You must not waste time on complaining about the heavy load. On the contrary, you should focus on finding ways to make it work. You must make a routine and follow it without fail for one month. Later, you can continue to add other routines one at a time to streamline the things. A regular routine will reduce the stress of last minute thinking and it will free up the time as well as mind for other activity.
  3. You must learn to say NO, without apologies, explanations, or guilt, to requests that infringe on family time. It is important for you to realize that by saying yes to one thing means saying no to something like a meaningful conversation with spouse, playing a game with their children, or catching up on laundry.
  4. Keep your expectations low as you will be pleasantly surprised when things work out better. Kids like to be kids and do not live their lives according to parent’s dreams. Some of us have always been a little bit of a control freak. We like to do things ourselves and we don’t like to wait for help. If you know that you can be distracted easily then you must try to do the most important thing in the day, before you give way to the other distractions and stresses of the day. If everything seems chaotic and you do not know where to start, then you should set your priorities and do the first things first.

Most of the time it is not the motherhood, it is the attitude. You should not make children an excuse for not challenging yourself to the fullest as you did when you were younger. Your passion for life and your dreams evaporate if you sit back and give up. Clothes will always need washing and the dishes will always need cleaning, but babies won’t always be babies. You would rather want the kids to remember their mother playing with them than remember that clean house was an order of the day.

It can be physically, emotionally and mentally draining to be a mother. It is also not a highly valued position in the world we live in. Your children will probably never be truly grateful for the service you render every day until they are out of the house, on their own and having children of their own.
