If she is active and has no other complaint like feeling week headache or poor in study than nothing to worry, active children generally don't gain much weight, still you want her to be fat feed her lot of rice kheer and potato and make her sit in front of tv whole day, she will gain lot of weight.

I have 4 months baby. When I m pregnant I got pimples on my face and they turned into black spots amd after delivery also they will not disappear. Now I m using femcinol A. How to get rid off these pimples and black spots?

* Don't scratch or pinch your pimples. This will cause more damage and scars. . * Avoid fried and oily foods. * Prefer fruits and green vegetables. * When you apply any cream, sun screen and the like, clean your face at the earliest, so that there will be no adverse action of the chemicals on the delicate skin of face. *Your skin ‘breaths’ through its pores which are not to be closed for long. HOMOEOPATHIC medicines are taken internally. Hence, NO DIRECT CONTACT with your delicate and sensitive skin, thereby no problem of skin allergy .Homoeopathy has good treatment without causing adverse effects. The medicines work internally, tackle the root of the problem unlike face cream which is a surface treatment.. Take Antim crd 200—once daily in the morning. For further treatment, consult privately (Prime-Rs.149/). Acne riddance package for one month comprehensive treatment is offered at Rs 500/-

Mother might be having problem of retracted nipples which the baby can't hold in his mouth. So help of a senior lady can help this by doing massage of the nipples. Always try to give breast feed directly through sucking otherwise milk secretions will be reduced gradually. --you can use a blunt forcef to hold the nipple and put in mouth of baby. --baby's are very smart. After feeding with bottle (which require no effort) they will avoid breast sucking as it requires effort. --always avoid feeding with bottle.

There is problem regarding food, he don't like any time of spicy food, even if it little spicy because of this I was worried. So give solution of this.

Postgraduate Programme in Pediatric Nutrition, Diploma in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, MRCPCH, MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Bangalore
If it is a short term problem, check his mouth to see if he has any ulcers in the mouth. If long term problem, give whatever he can tolerate for now and his tolerance to spicy food will increase slowly. There is no nutritional advantage to giving excessively spicy food. Food should be rather balanced based on the intake of cereals, pulses, fruits, vegetable and milk products.

My 3 year old is sick with a temperature of 100 degrees she can not keep anything down including liquids. What should I do?

Please take rhus tox 200 - thrice daily for next 3-4 days. Also -- soak a washcloth in cool tap water wring out the excess water and then sponge areas like your armpits, feet, hands and groin to reduce the temperature. Also, you can place cold, damp washcloths on your forehead and the back of your neck. The cloth pieces should be changed regularly after a few minutes. This remedy is beneficial when dealing with a high fever as it helps keep temperature under control. You can also take a bath in lukewarm water to relax your body. Taking a shower, however, may not be a good idea. Plus, needless to say, take as much rest as possible as it helps the body fight the illness. Note: do not use very cold water as it may cause the internal body temperature to increase. Consult me for homeopathic treatment. Recommend me by clicking on recommend option and leave feedback.

Viral Fever in New Born Babies

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Viral Fever in New Born Babies

What is viral fever?

Viral fever refers to an acute infection caused by the action of viruses. Flu or influenza is the most common form of viral fever. Since viral fever is contagious, when an infected person sneezes or coughs the virus spreads and comes in contact with other people. Children can remain contagious for about 10 days if they get the early symptoms of viral fever. Children who are younger than two years are at an increased risk of developing complications pertaining to viral fever. Controlling the symptoms of cold, fever and cough can cure viral fever.

Symptoms of viral fever

Fever and chills are the early signs of viral fever. Children suffering from viral fever will feel pain throughout their body. Other common signs and symptoms involving viral fever include cough, cold, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, and stomach ache.

Certain preventive measures against viral fever

  • Keeping your child away from anyone who is sick is advisable. To prevent the germs from spreading ask everyone to use tissues while they sneeze or cough. Make sure that your family member maintains good hygiene habits if he/she is suffering from diarrhea or is vomiting.
  • To prevent coming in contact with germs wash your and your child's hands properly
  • Seasonal changes are the thriving phase for viruses so take precautionary measures during those periods of the year

Tips for quicker recovery of your child

1. Offer enough drinks - A child gets dehydrated through fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Oral Rehydration Salts can be given to little ones as it contains all the essential nutrients. This can be given to a baby even if he/she is just in breastfeeding stage.

2. Feed them special food - Soft and semi-liquid foods can be given to your child if he/she older than 6 months. Foods like dals, soups, and curd with sugar are advisable for your child. As he/she gradually gets stronger thicker foods like mashed vegetable can be added to his/her diet.

3. Ensure that your child gets adequate rest - Since viral fever is contagious it is advisable to let your child sleep in a separate room. Since the fever causes fatigue adequate rest is required for recovery. This will also prevent him/her from getting the other family members infected.

4. Sponge your child's body - Sponging your child's body with lukewarm water can control high fever.

5. Maintain proper hygiene - It is essential to wash your hands before and after touching your child to prevent the infection from spreading to the other family members.
