Black marks or teeth are mostly due to decay. If the decay is deep, root canal treatment followed by cap is necessary. Attach the x-ray of tooth, if you have. For precaution, brush twice daily. Limit your food intake to 4-5 times a day. Forcefully gargle with water after you eat or drink anything. Avoid sweet sticky foods.

Hi I have dental problem, regarding to bad breath. I have observed smell coming from my teeth. Please give a solution. Thank you.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Hi
I have dental problem, regarding to bad breath. I have observed smell coming from my teeth.
Please give a solution...
•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too.

Respected doctors, I have gum problem and also bad smell of mouth, please help me to come out of this problem. Please advise.

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist,
Smell from the mouth may be due to conditions present in the mouth and from stomach. Conditions in the mouth are poor oral hygiene i. E presence of plaque and tartar, poor salivary flow, or may be due to some gum infections. Problems from stomach may be due gastritis. Dehydration is also a common cause. Drinking adequate water may also relieve this. Kindly consult your dentist for further clarifications and wish a confident smile.

Hello, I have dark spots on my teeth which looks ugly. How do I clean my teeth with home remedies. Please advice me.
Hello lybrate-user! If the dark spots that you have are stains and not caries on your teeth then Scaling and polishing done by your dentist will help you resolve the problem of staining/dark spots. Since you have asked about home remedies, why do not you try brushing your teeth with paste made up of baking soda and lemon, twice a week. For more detailed and step by step guidance you can contact me.

Does my nose shape change after completion of braces treatment?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,
Does my nose shape change after completion of braces treatment?
No. We need more investigations (full mouth & profile x-ray) to decide upon treatment. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

For outward teeth you can go for orthodontic treatment (braces treatment) and for yellowish teeth you can go for bleaching of teeth.

I am 50 year old. I have pain in my tooth after 3rd sitting. My doctor is bot available. Which drug I should take?
Take any pain killer, all works well in tooth ache. But this pain killer will subside your pain only. But you need to visit your dentist to remove cause of pain. If you have no other disease or allergy than you can take tab combiflam which will last for 6-8 hours.

I do smoking and my teeth are a bit yellowish in colour. Once I did cleaning also but it was not so effective. Kindly suggest me a way to make my teeth white and strong as now I have quit smoking.

I do smoking and my teeth are a bit yellowish in colour. Once I did cleaning also but it was not so effective. Kindly...
Start using Colgate total as it is good for health of teeth. If you wish to quit smoking, you can definitely do it with Homeopathic treatment (but on one condition - that you yourself should be strong enough to quit it). And by that time, you get you teeth cleaned up regularly by dentist for its healthiness. Still if you have any queries, you are welcomed to ask. :) Take care. :)

I am suffering for honey allergy I don't able to eat it as my mouth continuously generating water.

I am suffering for honey allergy I don't able to eat it as my mouth continuously generating water.
Although excessive saliva is not too common, there are a number of conditions that can cause it - some harmless, others more serious. It is possible that your saliva problems are just a result of the way you speak. Some people speak faster or slower than others, just as some people blink more often, breathe faster, or have a more rapid heartbeat. This may just be what's normal for you. Since it is negatively affecting your life, I suggest your problem can be ignored. However there are medical conditions that causes excessive salivation injection glycopyrrolate reduces secretions in the mouth, throat, airway, and stomach.
