I am 34 yrs old male. I have Adenoid disorders from last 3 months. Please help me.

PG Hom, London, BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Hi the best solution for adenoids is to surgically remove them. However if you want to avoid undergoing the knife, the best kind of treatment for you will be homeopathic. Homeopathic medicines will not only decrease the size of adenoids but also prevent the recurrence.

Smooth vibrations are normal. This is due to excitement which makes pelvic floor muscles strong, causing vibrations.

Does Brain Size Matters When It comes To Intelligence?

MCh Neurosurgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Neurosurgeon, Guwahati
Does Brain Size Matters When It comes To Intelligence?

When it comes to the brain and the IQ, is bigger the better? Does size really matter? Is there really a connection between the size of your brain and intelligence? With the help of findings by neurologists
and scientists, we seek to find out!

  1. Ailments and the Brain: Scientists have found that children with autism have a brain that has grown in a disproportionate manner in the very first year of their life. This prevents the child from making connections with normal behaviour. On the other hand, children and adolescents who suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD have shown signs of having a much smaller brain size. Many scientists have shown that the size of the brain shrinks as we age, and this does not have any visible effect on our cognitive abilities.
  2. It's all Relative: The size of the brain does not really have a bearing on the way a person's cognition gets shaped. Even large mammals like elephants and whales are finally hunted and tamed by humans who have smaller brains in comparison. The brain is made up of billions of neurons which need to function properly. It may be seen that scientists consider the brain mass in relation with the rest of the body so as to speculate about the cognitive abilities of the person. Why is this required? Large animals need a well functioning and proportionate brain size to control and run their organs with proper cognition for satisfactory results, which is what we humans seem to have done.
  3. Neanderthal Brains: Historically, the earliest man or the Neanderthals are said to have had larger brains than we do. These people are believed to have brains that are at least 10% larger than the brains that we have in our modern times. The shape of their brain was different too. They were also heavily muscled people which had a bearing on the size and shape of the brain and bodies as well as the lean tissue within the brain. They also survived very successfully for a period of over 200,000 years, which obviously points to some form of elevated cognition, as per many scientists.
  4. Animals: While animals with small brains like lizards and reptiles do not perform too well on IQ tests, the animals with bigger brains like elephants and dolphins perform much better. But the medium sized brains of monkeys, lemurs and other animals are said to perform in the best manner. The correlation between the body size and the brain does not seem to hold good here, as per various researches.

So the verdict as per medical science and research stands divided! If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Neurosurgeon.

I have osteoarthritis, Dr. prescribed medicine pan 40, Deflo and Etoshine, I think these medicine are a type pain killers, I think this is not the proper diagnose way to curepermanentlyosteoarthritis, hence I requesting you to suggest the proper direction of activity and diet plus exercise for future. Please.

DNB ORTHO, MNAMS (Membership of the National Academy) (General Surgery) , MS ORTHO, MBBS
Orthopedist,
Ossteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, affects almost everyone. It occurs when the protective cartilage wear off. Although osteoarthritis can damage any joint in your body, the disorder most commonly affects joints in your hands, knees, hips and spine. There is no Cure for Osteoarthritis. But staying active, maintaining a healthy weight and other treatments may slow progression of the disease and help improve pain and joint function. Symptoms Osteoarthritis symptoms often develop slowly and worsen over time. Signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis include: 1) Pain. 2) Tenderness. Light pressure gives pain. 3) Stiffness. 4) Loss of flexibility 5) Grating sensation 6) Bone spurs. These extra bits of bone, which feel like hard lumps, may form around the affected joint. Causes Osteoarthritis occurs when the cartilage that cushions the ends of bones in your joints gradually deteriorates. Cartilage is a firm, slippery tissue that permits nearly frictionless joint motion. In osteoarthritis, the slick surface of the cartilage becomes rough. Eventually, if the cartilage wears down completely, you may be left with bone rubbing on bone. Risk factors Factors increase risk of osteoarthritis include: 1) Older age. The risk of osteoarthritis increases with age. 2) Sex. Women are more likely to develop osteoarthritis, though it isn't clear why. 3) Obesity. Carrying extra body weight contributes to osteoarthritis in several ways. It puts added stress on weight-bearing joints, such as your hips and knees. In addition, fat tissue produces proteins that may cause harmful inflammation in and around your joints. 4) Joint injuries. Injuries, such as those that occur when playing sports or from an accident, may increase the risk of osteoarthritis. 5) Certain occupations. If your job includes tasks that place repetitive stress on a particular joint, that joint may eventually develop osteoarthritis. 6) Genetics. Some people inherit a tendency to develop osteoarthritis. 7) Bone deformities. Some people are born with malformed joints or defective cartilage, which can increase the risk of osteoarthritis. 8) Other diseases. Having diabetes or other rheumatic diseases such as gout and rheumatoid arthritis can increase your risk of osteoarthritis. Complications Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease that worsens over time. Joint pain and stiffness may become severe enough to make daily tasks difficult. Some people are no longer able to work. When joint pain is this severe, doctors may suggest joint replacement surgery. Tests and diagnosis Clinical Examination, X Rays and Blood tests. Treatments and drugs 1) Medications A. Acetaminophen. B. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). 2) Therapy A. Physical therapy. B. Occupational therapy. C. Braces or shoe inserts. D chronic pain class – Training in group 3) Surgical and other procedures A. Cortisone shots. B. Lubrication injections. C. Realigning bones. D. Joint replacement. 4) Lifestyle and home remedies A. Exercise. B. Lose weight. C. Use heat and cold to manage pain. D. Apply over-the-counter pain creams. E. Use assistive devices. 5) Alternative medicine (I do not believe but people use) A. Acupuncture. B. Glucosamine and chondroitin. C. Avocado-soybean unsaponifiables. D. Tai chi and yoga.
