I have cold and cough since 2 days give me some medical advice or some precautions regarding it?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Get plenty of rest, especially while you have a fever. Rest helps your body fight infection. Stop smoking and avoid secondhand smoke, which can make cold symptoms worse Drink lots of fluids such as water and clear soups. Fluids help loosen mucus. Fluids are also important because they help prevent dehydration. Gargle with warm salt water a few times a day to relieve a sore throat. Throat sprays or lozenges may also help relieve the pain. Avoid alcohol. Use saline (salt water) nose drops to help loosen mucus and moisten the tender skin in your nose.

Swimming is the best form of activity and exercise for asthmatics. You can try ayurvedic medicines but beware that many such medicines have steroids in it. And also ayurvedic medicine will also be required for long term. It will not cure the asthma.. They too have side effects and at times can be severe too.

The severity of the symptoms varies from person to person. They usually come and go, but for some people they're more persistent. Asthma symptoms can sometimes get temporarily worse. This is known as an asthma attack?

Hi take ginger tea mixed with 2-3 crushed garlic cloves. Massaging the chest with warm sesame oil mixed with salt helps to loosen the phlegm deposited in the chest, especially, when followed with steam inhalation. Take shwas kuthar ras twice a day. Hi, I am a 26-year-old male, height 5 feet 10 inches, weight 82 kg. For the past two months I have been experiencing shortness of breath. I used to smoke, but quit about 6 months ago. One month ago I consulted a cardiologist regarding this and had an ECG, Echo, and blood work. Medical history: Intestinal obstruction surgery in 2008 ECG result: 1. Suspected left ventricular hypertrophy. 2. ST- segment elevation (anterior) As the ECG was abnormal the doctor did an echo and the findings were normal. Echo Result: LVID> 26/40 IVS> 15/13 PW> 15/10 EF>66% LA 33 AO 28 Mitral Valve DE 20 EF>0.13mm/sec Doppler Flow AO systolic> 1.30M/sec Mitral E/A 0.78/0.88 M/sec Blood Work: Normal thyroid function and lipid profile. The cardiologist told me everything is normal, but still I am experiencing shortness of breath even at rest so I would like to clear these doubts: 1. Is the thickness of my left ventricle normal? 2. The ECG showed ST-segment elevation. Based on echo results does it mean that I still have an elevated ST-segment. If yes, then should I be concerned about it? 3. These tests were done a month ago, apart from shortness of breath I do not have any symptoms of CHF so I would like to know can CHF occur suddenly? It would be greatly appreciated if you will clear these doubts of mine. Thank you so much.

1.Thickness of left ventricle-is not normal .Your over wt & this causing you breathing problem. 2.St elevation when cardiologist certified normal you forget about it 3.You are in a pre CHF condition Avoid strain to heart, have fat free+moderate carbohydrate+high protine diet+vitamins and minerals, take the opinion of dietician. Your ch.Sinusitis is an added risk.
