I am doing so hard workout and I want to my body lean means fat free what I have to do.
If the weight gain has increased drastically without making any evident change in food and other physical activities. I recommended you to get your thyroid levels checked. Still for basic weight loss to be achieved maintains a balanced diet of not more than 1500 calories per day. 1. Refined sugars in coffee and tea should be completely stopped, shift to multigrain chapatti instead of only wheat based and have more complex crabs in your snacks time like roasted grain and salads. 2.2serving of fruits should be included but keep the serving size maximum to 1 at one time. 3. Include 1-2 portions of proteins in form of tofu, paneer, sprouts and oat meals daily in the evening time to manage the intake of carbohydrates after 7: 30 pm. 4. Maintain a good balanced of carbohydrates, fats and protein to the ratio and include a cardio session of 45 mins daily for at least 5 days a week to maintain a good health overall.

I do not know how to reply to this. Even under expert supervision, 1000 jumps are not recommended ever. Exercise judiciously. Please understand that you didn't gain all this fat in a day; therefore do not try to lose it in a day.

Green tea contains small amounts of caffeine, but it is also loaded with powerful antioxidants called catechins, which are also believed to work synergistically with the caffeine to enhance fat burning Although the evidence is mixed, there are many studies showing that green tea (either as a beverage or a green tea extract supplement) can help you lose weight .

Hi I want to know one thing and that is I have one family member who is 18 years old and does not have any friend and he does not like to talk with anyone occasionally, he also feels like he is in depression, he does not went outside from his house and he stays at his house almost whole day so sometimes he also takes the snaps of bad things etc. He also do takes the snaps of his house labours and the snaps of the roads. When we all asked him the reason behind all of these things then he simple says like this I always live inside in my house, I does not go outside at any point of time, so now I want to know that does all these things (behaviours) of my that family member are normal or not, the actual reason for this behaviour can be because my that family member lives almost in house (does not went outside, lack of having friends. Or not.

I don't think it is lybrate-user simple as that. Due to his age, it is very likely that there is some connection to events in his childhood or genes that has to be investigated. This can be ideally processed by a counselor and if that person thinks that he needs medical help then s/he may recommend a doctor. Then he would need to cooperate with both therapies for the best results. Anyway, in life we must follow these three important rules: Always Be responsible with everything we say and do; Always Be respectful with everything we say and do; and always be function with what we do. He is defaulting in all three.

General Physician,
Restricting salt in diet can lower heart disease risk

Restricting salt in the diet can lower the risk of developing heart disease by 25% and the risk of dying from heart disease by 20%.
Dietary intake of sodium among Indians is excessively high. Among hypertensive individuals, lowering sodium is quite well established to lower blood pressure, but now it has been shown that reducing salt also has an effect on cardiovascular disease.
According to a Harvard Medical School study published in British Medical Journal, when people with prehypertension (blood pressure more than 120/80 and lower than 140/90), reduced their salt intake by about 25 to 35%, they were 25% less likely to develop cardiovascular disease 10 to 15 years after the trial ended. There was also a 20 percent lower death rate from cardiovascular disease among those who cut their salt consumption.
Salt restriction is best achieved by avoiding salted, salt cured and salt smoked foods such as lunch meat, hot dogs, ham, olives, pickles and regular salted canned foods, and other prepared foods, which often use more salt than homemade equivalents. Foods we would never think of as salty, such as breakfast cereals, cookies, and even some soft drinks often contain copious additions of sodium.
WHO recommends limiting the salt intake to less than 5 grams per day.

I hv been using clofranil 10 mg half a tablet for last 4 years, to control anxiety, can I stop using it now.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Thane
I hv been using clofranil 10 mg half a tablet for last 4 years, to control anxiety, can I stop using it now.
Please do not stop the medicine all by yourself. Please talk to your doctor and learn whether it will be a good idea to stop it. If the doctor's opinion is that you should continue, try to learn the reasons for the advice. Psychotropic drugs are useful treatments for psychiatric symptoms but often are not curative. To continue to get benefits of the treatment one needs to continue consuming the medicines. If you need to stop the medicine for some specific reason e.g. drug side effects or allergic reactions or adverse interactions with another drug that some other doctor has prescribed or contraindication in some other medical condition etc then ask the doctor to help you taper the dose off. Frequently, stopping psychotropic drugs all at once can produce a "drug withdrawal reaction" and to prevent that, one must taper the dose 'gradually'. Please ask the doctor to supervise the gradual taper. Only the doctor can tell you what 'gradual' can be, from his clinical experience.

Dear lybrate-user. Welcome to lybrate. I can understand. Loosing someone near and dear is called grief and depression related to grief is pretty normal. But this sort of depression does not stay for long. This depression gets cleared within a span of some weeks. The best option for you is to undergo counseling and depression related therapy. Take care.

As long as your blood sugar is under control, you can participate in everything. Uncontrolled diabetics have a higher tendency for fungal infections hence use a protection when not trying for a baby.

We all are aware of the fact that our height increases up to a particular age and then it comes to a halt. Height increases up to the age of 18years in women and up to the age of 20 years in men. Increase in height is attributed to the production of growth hormone, called the HGH( Human Growth Hormone), which is secreted by the pituitary gland called the master gland of our body. It is rather difficult to increase height after reaching adulthood as the production of these hormones slowly stops. In most cases, the epiphyses of the long bones are fused as the last bits of cartilaginous tissue in the bones turn into solid hard bones. This prevents any further growth in longer bones. However, if the hormones are released naturally, increase in height can be observed. Increase in height at your age depends upon a no. of factors like 1.Heriditary factor 2.Recorded any increase in height in last 6 months 3.Amount of effort you are putting in for increase in height 4.How much serious are you for your height 5.Will you give 100% if I show you a direction 6.Just do your bit with full determination and leave the rest to time, exercises and medicines. Consult me Fast for Homoeopathic consultation as you short of time

Hi lybrate-userto gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.
