Every one of us has to eat all kinds of foods, but for diabetic patients a few restrictions are like - avoid sweets, direct sugar, deep fried foods, fruits like mango, banana, chikkoo, grapes. Foods to be taken include whole grain flour breads, millets, green vegetables, salads, curd, sprouted beans, clear soups, dilute butter milk, skimmed milk etc.

Heart Attack - Can The Damage Caused By It Be Reversed?

DM - Cardiology -, MD - General Medicine - , MBBS, FSCAI, MHRS, FACC, FESC , Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology & EP, Interventional Cardiology & EP and Devices, Senior Specialist( Interventional Cardiology), Fellow of southeast Asian Interventional Cardiology Society, International Award of Excellence in Cardiology

Heart Attack - Can The Damage Caused By It Be Reversed?

A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked, often by a buildup of fat, cholesterol, and other substances, forming a plaque in the arteries. If blood flow is not restored quickly, the section of heart muscle begins to die, starving for oxygen. This causes a heart attack. A heart attack can also be caused by the rupture of the coronary artery. During a coronary rupture, the coronary arteries get restricted, reducing blood supply to the heart muscle.

Each coronary artery supplies blood to a region of the heart muscle.

Extent of damage to the heart muscle depends on the area supplied by the blocked artery and time between injury and treatment. Making some changes in your diet; how consistently you exercise; how much you weigh and how you manage stress can help you to recover from a heart disease quickly.

You can undo some, but probably not all of the damage, if you're willing to make big and lasting changes to your lifestyle. To reverse the impairments caused by a heart attack/disease you can become a vegetarian. Filling your platter with fruits and vegetables, whole grains, soy products, non-fat dairy and egg whites while avoiding fat, refined sugar and processed carbs is a sure-shot way of keeping your heart healthy and preventing future attacks. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a cardiologist.

Anxiety disorders are a category of mental disorders characterized by feelings of anxiety and fear, where anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events. These feelings may cause physical symptoms, such as a racing heart and shakiness. There are a number of anxiety disorders: including generalized anxiety disorder, a specific phobia, social anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, and panic disorder among others. While each has its own characteristics and symptoms, they all include symptoms of anxiety. I need to know more about your anxiety so that I will be able to diagnose it properly and provide you tips to overcome and manage your anxiety. Take care.

I am 42 year old and I am suffering from hypertension from last 3 years. My blood pressure remains 110/140. Please advice.

MD - Alternative Medicine
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Mumbai
Hypertension or high blood pressure, as it is more commonly known, is regarded as the silent killer. It is a disease of modern age. The fast pace of life and the mental and physical pressures caused by industrial and metropolitan environments give rise to psychological tensions. Worry and mental tension increase the adrenaline in the blood stream and this; turn causes the pressure of blood to rise. The most important causes of hypertension are stress and faulty style of living. Hardening of the arteries, obesity, diabetes, and severe constipation also lead hypertension. Other causes of high blood pressure are excessive intake of pain-killer, tablets, salt, food allergy, and eating a high-fat, low fiber diet and processed foods, deficient in essential nutrients. Drugs do not remove a cause, nor do they cure the condition. All drugs against hypertension without some are toxic and have distressing side-effects. Treatment by natural way: diet is primary important, like vegetable like cucumber, carrot, tomato, onion, radish, cabbage and spinach are best taken in row form. The intake of salt should be restricted; in any case it should not be taken more then four grams or half a teaspoon per day. Baking powder, contain sodium carbonate should also be avoided. Juice? s & fruit? s, butter milk, coconut water, soya /cow milk, steam vegetable? s, salad, sprouts mung, vegetable soup, simple diet are good for hb, considering diet is your medicine as promoted by naturopathic meditation, asana like pavanmuktasana, uttanpadasan and shavasana, yoga, regular exercise, proper sleep, cool mind, enjoy some of time for your choice game, entertainment, book reading, swimming etc are also help to reduce hb vitamin c, zinc, garlic, onion, fiber food, calcium are essential in hb ignatia, acid phose, baryata carb, conium, belladonna, sepia and carbo veg are some of the homoeopathic remedy to control hb, but keep in mind that your food n correct life style is your best medicine avoid: meats, sugar, white flour, common salt, tea, coffee, pickles, fried food, bakery products etc, caution: hb should not be taken lightly best wishes.

Best brand cardiac peacemaker which is use in India and what is difference between single and double chamber pacemaker.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine, DM - Cardiology, Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS - Physician )
Cardiologist, Delhi
Best brand cardiac peacemaker which is use in India and what is difference between single and double chamber pacemaker.
Single chamber pacemaker paces only one chamber in heart, dual chamber pacemaker paces 2 chambers in heart. Dual chamber pacing is more similar to the pacing of normal heart and hence is better than single chamber pacing. There are different models available and the difference is same as buying a Audi, BMW or Mercedes meaning that they are all good, each has some or the other features. You can discuss with your treating doctor which will be best suited for you.
