My daughter is 6 years. She is becoming arrogant and restless. If some horror picture she observed confirm she will vomit in night during sleep. We (myself, my wife and my only daughter) a flat in kolkata. Our parents live in native. She like swimming but couldn't try to swim without boat.

MD - Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Gurgaon
Don't panic please she is just 6yrs. Few points? she requires love, affection & understanding from her parents? parents should not be scolding the child, due to which child can become fearful? accept the child & then empower? no activities which can make child restless like parents fighting with each other, parents themselves worrying a lot, tv shows and movies of such type? telling & teaching something while child is on bed at bedtime which can make the child calm & peaceful & confident? children do what they observe compared to what we teach. Very long discussion.

If only blocked nose or running nose then use nasal drops. If there's is no fever then don't give antibiotics example mega CV. If you have to give syp mega CV can be given 2 ml twice a day instead of 1 ml of drops twice a day.

My daughter is unable to express herself with words instead she communicates with gestures. Her date of birth is 06-08-2015 and she weighs about 10 kilos. Is it normal for a two year old to utter only a few words or is it something to worry? Please help.

According to you she has developed non verbal language. So she probably understands things. Get her hearing assessment done and if required speech therapy can be started. By 2 years age child should develop 2 word sentences. You should see if her early language milestones were also delayed. When she started saying mama, papa. Some more questions need to be asked for other causes of language delay like autism. Get her assessed thoroughly.

Ahan is 2 month baby boy. He vomits several times a day I want to know the reason and a good medicine.
His weight 5 kg is fine that indicates, he is getting sufficient feed. What you are calling vomiting, it may be regurgitation which is quite common. There is no need of medicine. Burping solves the problem usually. You need no to worry so long baby is gaining wt.

Your child may have nausea, vomitting, diarrhoea, decreased urine output. Do give your child a lot of water to drink and make sure he passes good amount of urine because glycomet can damage kidneys. If you see any of the above symptoms do take your child to a doctor.

You have not written diet schedule. As per child should be six times a day fresh food prepared at home contain cereals like whearfloor, rice whole cooked soft. Self taking ang self eating is important at this age even if child donot eat a nything for two|three days.

My twin babies was delivered after 34 week 2 days. Weight -1980 and 1860 gm. Doctor told this is underweight and hence need to be taken to special care (sucu) unit. Also I found they are giving two antibiotics - gestum and needlemycin. Is this correct treatment? Are not antibiotics harmful?

HI Sonali... because of low birth weight it is likely for them to catch infection easily.. thats why it is necessary to give antibiotics... yes they are harmful.... but not more than the infection... so for greater good it is necessary...
