Please do morning/evening walk (brisk-walking)/ treadmill/swimming for at least 60 minutes daily. Keep moving as much as you can whenever you can. Keep meal portions small especially if they’re cooked. Limit your food intake which SHOULD be and ONLY be 4 times a day. Do never skip meals. Take a heavy breakfast. Avoid sedentary life/night watching/junk foods. The best way to burn more calories is to build muscle through resistance training. For each pound of muscle that you gain, you burn approximately 50-70 calories in addition per day (5 pounds of muscle gain equates to burning 250-350 calories a day!) That’s fantastic motivation to start a workout program. Please follow the above for next 4 weeks and revert for further treatment.

It would be better for you to eat steam cooked or boiled food in order to prevent the risk of adding on the weight. •Make sure that you only steam cooks all your veggies and do not fry them when you are cooking. •You can also consume boiled chicken or fish every day, but make sure that you should never eat fried chicken or other meat.

Hello Rohini, This is too early to think about weight loss as you need to feed your baby. The best way is to eat healthy and your biological clock will do its work. Avoid eating deep fries, sugar loaded stuff, ready to eat foods. Focus on eating fresh, home cooked and easily digestible foods, like leafy greens, gourds, pumpkin, garlic etc. Garlic is both fat burner and lactation enhancer. so you should definitely try this. Eat smart that will help you. stay healthy stay fit☺

Hi lybrate-user Thanks for the query. There’s no overnight fix when it comes to healthy weight loss, but you can adjust your lifestyle to promote quick, natural weight loss for the benefit of your health and your appearance. Successful, long-term weight management needs to focus on more than the food you eat and the pounds you lose. It needs to focus on your overall health. Reshape your body and your lifestyle by adopting healthy habits and breaking unhealthy ones. Replace all processed foods in your diet with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy, lean meats, eggs, legumes, nuts, seeds and seafood. Focus on the variety of whole, unprocessed foods you can eat instead of dwelling on the junk food you eliminated from your diet. Eat smaller portions at every meal and avoid going back for seconds. Take a smaller scoop of rice, half of a piece of chicken instead of a whole piece and one less egg in your morning omelet, for example. Make time for breakfast every morning. Eating breakfast helps prevent overeating and is a habit of people who successfully lose weight. Pack to-go meals instead of eating convenience foods when you’re not home. Store foods like chopped fruits and vegetables or cooked grains, legumes, eggs and meats in your refrigerator so you always have something to grab when you’re in a rush. Buy fresh vegetables and fruits from the grocery store if you forget to bring healthful food from home. When you can’t avoid dining at a restaurant, opt for a salad as a starter, and always ask for the dressing on the side. Clear soups, lean meats, seafood and grain-based dishes like roti, whole grain bread are other good choices. Exercise for 30 to 60 minutes at least three times per week to build muscle and burn more calories. Pilates, strength training, aerobics, swimming, dancing and yoga or a sport like football are ideal choices. If you’re new to exercising, start with brisk walking and jogging. Adopt physically demanding hobbies like bicycling, hiking, jogging, power walking to promote faster weight loss. If you don’t have time for new hobbies, increase your physical activity with things like walking the dog, playing with the kids or jogging instead of driving to a nearby store or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

Your weight is controlled by 4 major factors (1) refined sugar consumption (2) exercise and hydration (3) posture and sitting (4) how many times do you indulge yourself - alcohol, binge eating at parties, overeating etc. Step 01: refined sugar 1. Avoid all snacks and commercial products with sugar in them - biscuits, cakes, bournvita, horlicks, coke, pepsi, energy drinks, sweetened yogurt etc. 2. Cut down on your daily intake of tea/coffee and maintain it at 3-4 cups a day. 3. Try to add little sugar to any beverage (coffee, tea, milk, lemon water etc.) that you have and ideally you should refrain from adding any sugar altogether. Step 02: get exercise and proper hydration 1. Try to work out for 20 minutes each day. You do not necessarily have to go to the gym. You can incorporate some pretty powerful exercises in your daily routine like - squats, skipping, surya namaskar and core exercises. 2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday but remember that tea/coffee are not substitutes for pure water. Step 03: improve posture and sitting habits if you have a sitting job then ensure that you do not sit for more than 30 minutes at one stretch. Get up and move a little after every 30 minutes. Step 04: stop indulging and eat more of raw natural stuff 1. No more than 60 ml of hard liqour or 2 glasses of beer per day. 2. Try to eliminate the urge to overeat but if you do overeat try to limit the incidents to two times per week. 3. Eat 4 servings of fruits per day. 4. Each of your meal should contain 50% of raw vegetables. Once you incorporate the above points in your routine you will see a dramatic difference in your weight, physical shape and energy levels. You will find that there are a lot of companies out there that are trying to sell expensive products to naive consumers in the name of weight loss. These products may not necessarily be good for you. Losing and maintaining weight is something which is totally in your hands, it is easy and it is free of cost if you follow the above mentioned points.

The word fat in itself is very alarming. Body fat or weight is the topic of concern for most people today. Due to the lack of physical activities these day? s people tend to gain weight at a faster rate. Long working hours, which involves sitting in front of computers, have lead to the increase in belly size? pot belly? or? beer belly? are just few names with which it is known. Abdominal crunches? lay down flat on the floor? bend the knees with feet on the floor? place your hands by the side of your ears? take a deep breath? crunch up lifting the head and chest a bit. The aim is to try and touch the knees with the forehead. But do not try to do it in the first attempt. Give your body some time? now move down gradually, exhaling the air. Descending movement must be slower than the crunch up movement. Repeat the steps 5 to 10 times some tips? squeeze a lemon in a cup of warm water. Drink this water as soon as you get up in the morning. Drink lots of water throughout the day, keep yourself well hydrated? drink green tea in the morning. It has antioxidants that help the body to burn fat and detoxify. Eliminate all juice (except natural pomegranate juice) and soft drinks from your diet. Drink only 1 cup of coffee a day? avoid junk food at all cost? start exercising. Do hour to 45 minutes of cardio, preferably walking on an incline every day. Do light weight training for upper body three times a week? snack on a small amount of almonds (5 at a time) throughout the day (4 times a day maximum). Any queries inform me.

Tips for regular weight lose: increase the quantity of fruits and vegetables and low calorie foods. Avoid intake of too much salt as it may be a factor for increasing body weight. Milk products like cheese, butter etc. And non-vegetarian foods should be avoided as they are rich in fat. Mint is very beneficial in losing weight. Spices like dry ginger, cinnamon, black pepper etc. Are good for loosing weight and can be used in a number of ways. Regular intake of carrot juice. Avoid rice and potato, which contain a lot of carbohydrates. Among cereals wheat is good. Vegetables like bitter gourd (karela), and bitter variety of drumstick are useful in loosing weight. Fruits - Can They Prevent Weight Loss?

Fruits - Can They Prevent Weight Loss?

Fruits are loaded with vitamins and antioxidants and are a very healthy choice. However, they still contain some calories and sugar. These are two things that can stop your weight reduction progress if it is left unchecked. Whether or not you should be eating fruits while counting calories has been a questionable point and a controversial topic. Here are a few reasons why fruits might or might not hinder weight loss:

How fruits might hinder weight loss?

  1. The carbohydrates present in fruit might not have a huge effect on your glucose levels, as most organic products have low glycemic content.
  2. Fruits can likewise supply a critical amount of fiber to your eating routine. This will moderate absorption and make you feel full and bloated. For instance, only one measure of raspberries contains 8 grams of fiber. Organic products like blueberries are additionally a decent fruit for cancer prevention. This can bring down your circulatory strain, struggle of oxidative anxiety, and at times work at the DNA level to help in weight reduction.
  3. Fruits are high in the basic sugar fructose, which is the main reason why numerous individuals attempting to get thinner exclude it from their eating routine. Your liver processes fructose. It is the most common simple sugar that is sent to your brain, muscles and other organs to provide them with energy.

How fruits might help in weight loss?

  1. Concentrate on berries, small fruits that are rich in fiber. Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, kiwis, plums, peaches, and small apples are the sorts of organic products you ought to go after first.
  2. Enjoy fruits in small quantities after every 3-4 hours. However, concentrate on eating more vegetables. Fruits are a great dietary measure, however vegetables, particularly green leafy or vegetables rich in fiber, need to be a part of your healthy diet plan.
  3. In case you have to cut carbs from your eating regimen, begin with grains and bland carbs and afterward move onto fruits. There comes a period in everybody's eating routine when they have to eat less. Make a conscious effort to eliminate the most sugar thick foods first (as they will be the most calorie-thick of your starches too). You will see that as the sugars and calories in your eating routine get lower, when you're truly beginning to focus on losing the unshakable fat, your organic product intake will be diminished.

As important as maintaining a healthy diet is for losing weight, it is equally important to eat other substitutes instead of sticking to an ordinary fruit diet. Taking fruits for a long period of time without any other form of food, can weaken your body because the body needs equal amounts of nutrients to function properly. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. It is nice to know you are fit and healthy with no high BP or diabetes. Looking at your weight and height, it is clear that with a BMI of 28.87 kgs/M2 (normal <23 kgs), you are overweight, almost close to being grade 1 obese. So to remain as healthy and fit as of now, it is essential to reduce the weight. Your ideal body weight should be closer to 55 kgs. This needs adhering to a strict diet, avoiding too much of sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, items made out of maida, colas, and refraining form alcohol and smoking. Exercising daily for at least 1 hour. Brisk walking is a very good option. Consume more of green leafy vegetables and salads as well as fruits. Take care and keep good health. Thanks.
