Replace Those Junk Foods With These Healthy Choices

Replace Those Junk Foods With These Healthy Choices

Junk food is something you should generally avoid, courtesy to the health problems that they may cause. However, in some cases, when you are hungry you tend to go for junk food items as they are easily available. The other reason is that you don't know what you should opt for if you avoid junk food.

Outlined below are some healthy food options that you may replace junk food with:

  1. Replace ice cream with frozen yoghurt: Ice cream is considered to be laden with sugar that will add a sizeable number of calories, so you may replace that with frozen yoghurt. Yoghurt does not contain sugar and contains probiotic bacteria and protein that are good for your body. The probiotics in yogurt will help in enhancing your digestive system.
  2. Replace caffeine with fresh fruit juices: Caffeine is a known vasoconstrictor, which means it tends to narrow your blood vessels. This leads to problems in blood circulation and can lead to problems, such as erectile dysfunction. Instead consume fresh fruit juices as they are much healthier than coffee. They contain antioxidants that protect your body from free radical damage.
  3. Potato chips with bananas: If your cravings for salted food, such as chips increase then it points to a deficiency of potassium in the body. Instead of reaching for the packet of chips, eat a few bananas. They contain good amounts of potassium which helps to regulate fluid balance in the body.
  4. Eat nuts instead of chocolate: Instead of gorging on chocolates, a healthier option would be to opt for various kinds of nuts, such as almonds and cashews. They contain magnesium which tends to reduce chocolate cravings. They also provide the body with healthy fats and protein which help in building lean muscle mass in the body.
  5. Replace cookies with dry fruits: Cookies contain sugar in large amounts, which has the potential to create havoc on your body. From increasing blood sugar levels to obesity, it can cause serious complications. Opt for dry fruits as they are rich with important nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals that are essential for the human body. Add food such as dates, almonds and apricots to your diet. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Respected doctors Why is the period my gf's period last month very late she is supposed to start by 23 of last month but it actually started today I.E 1st of march. Is it because of her health?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
7 days delay is sometimes normal. Any type of stress can also delay periods. Like exams, work pressure, change of place or home and excess physical activity can all cause delay. If she starts getting delayed cycles by more than 10-15 days each time, she will need checkup. Changes in weight, diet and sleep, all affect periods. But it is a temporary issue.

Is cesarean more problematic then normal delivery of twins During cesarean will pregnant lady remains awake?

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
Gynaecologist, Bangalore
A Cesarean delivery is much more safer than a normal delivery for twin pregnancy. Although the lady remains awake she will not feel any pain during the surgery. She might feel slightly dizzy from the anesthesia.

Hello everyone.

You know that, hiv / aids, it is the most commonly seen sexually transmitted disease observed in today's modern era.

Severity of it is increasing too.

There are new and new researches going on over it and trying to find out its permanat cure. But believe me, till today no cure cure has been found out.

There are upcoming new arvs (anti-retro viral) therapies, but those are just palliating the for a time being. Again the cycle goes on and then finally nothing comes out of it. Patient ends carrying this or due to it. Those arvs gives palliation to patient, like, chemotherapy gives palliation to cancer patients but ultimately only the life span is increased to 2 to 5 or 7 yrs. Not more than it.

But here I would like to say that there is its cure available in homoeopathic medicines, through which I have cured more than hundreds of patients and giving results such as hiv test negative. Though I haven't got 2-3 patients good result and I could not help them, but still patients are getting relief and getting good results.
And nothing more gives happiness to hiv patients, when they see their results negative with their eyes. So now there are chances for its cure which is considered as hopeless to be cured.
" hope for hopeless disease"-- one can say.
Here you have chance to get your test negative again.

Start doing regular exercise for weight loss this will help regulate your hormones and will enhance fertility, also take healthy nutritious diet without skipping meals with fruits and green vegetables and low fat dairy products. Quit coffee, canned and fried food. And try conceiving during your fertile days if you have a regular cycle of 28-30 days your ovulation will be around day 10 to day 20 of periods, do regular intercourse in this duration.

Haemophilia - A Complete Guide!

General Physician, Pune
Haemophilia - A Complete Guide!

Haemophilia is a type of disorder in which blood does not clots easily or in a normal way. Haemophilia A is one of the common types of disease which causes due to deficiency of blood clotting factor VIII. Haemophilia B is another type which is caused due to the deficiency of blood clotting factor IX. Haemophilia is a lifetime condition which has no exact cure but can be managed by treatment. Haemophilia is a hereditary disorder which is mostly seen in men but is also observed in women sometimes if they carry the gene.

Symptoms of Haemophilia
Symptoms of haemophilia can vary depending on the severity of the disease. In most of the cases, bleeding is the common symptom of haemophilia. Sometimes, haemophilia causes internal bleeding which if left untreated can cause joint pains. There are some other general symptoms seen in people suffering from haemophilia. They are listed here.

  1. Bleeding through the nose
  2. Bruising
  3. Bleeding seen in faeces or urine
  4. Continuous bleeding when removal of tooth, surgery and when injured
  5. Unprompted bleeding
  6. Bleeding seen in joints which lead to swelling and pain
  7. Bleeding seen in urinary and gastrointestinal tracts

In some cases, internal bleeding happens in the brain which may come into notice during an injury. Such type of internal bleeding can be detected by the following symptoms.

  1. A severe headache
  2. Drowsiness
  3. Neck pain
  4. Severe stiffness in the body
  5. Abrupt weakness
  6. Problems in walking

Treatment for Haemophilia
The standard treatment of haemophilia involves mainly in replacement of missing clotting factor. As haemophilia is caused due to deficiency of factor VIII, the treatment involves the injection of factor VIII concentrates into the body which can be identified depending on the severity of bleeding, the site of bleeding and the age of the patient. Depending on the seriousness of the disease, factor VIII concentrates are given to the patient before going for surgery or dental extractions. This can help in preventing the bleeding.

As haemophilia is a hereditary disease, it is advisable to concentrate on prevention rather than cure of the disease. In order to prevent the disease, it is wise to undergo a genetic counselling. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a general physician.

I am 24 years old female, I delivered a baby girl 10 months ago, the delivery was scissor. Now I feel waist and back pain so much. What shall I do now? Will any exercise help me out of this?

Sexologist, Panchkula
You have waist and back pain after delivery. This is due to weak lower abdomen and back muscles. You should do abdominal exercises by joining gym and do always stretching of back muscles daily to keep your abs and back strong. Take calcium and vit d supplement for six months.
