It could be due to fungal infection 1. Apply panderm plus ointment twice daily for (1-2 week) 2. Take one tablet of levocetrizine (5 mg) at bed time if itching is severe 3.Thoroughly dry the area after taking bath and keep it dry and sweat free. It is not a good idea of increasing intake of junk foods and fatty foods to gain weight. You should be eating calorie dense yet nutritious food. Your calorie intake should come from foods that are healthy for you. The weight gaining diet should include high protein foods, high carbohydrate foods and healthy fats. Include these in your diet. Breakfast: banana and milk or banana shake or smoothie, whole-grain toast, fruits, nuts. Eat more fruit and drink less juice. Do not take milk mixed with ghee. It is not healthy. Lunch: roti or chapatti or wholegrain bread, rice, green vegetables, paneer, dal, chole recipe, black-eyed beans (lobia), rajma, whole wheat pudding (dalia), etc dinner: similar to lunch in-between meals: fruit, sandwich, yogurt (curd), milk, cheese, salad avoid deep fried snacks like samosa (samosa recipe), pakodas, bhujia etc avoid fast foods.

Hi , acne happens due to oily skin. On an already oily skin if you apply moisturizers, you are bound to get acne. First of all stop both the moisturizing cream and cetaphil soap as both of them will be making your skin more oily and ultimately leading to pimples. If you can send across a picture of the acne, I will be able to suggest you better medicines that suit acne prone skin. Once you send a picture, I can judge the severity of the acne and give medicines accordingly. Those medicines will help reduce the acne.

Dear lybrate user, -your uneasiness while walking could be due to problem in throat or allergy -do warm salt water gargles if there is irritation in throat, also less water intake can cause dryness & irritation -also get yourself investigated as to be sure it is not due to recurrent blockage & consult doctor.

Dear lybrate-user, What I understand from your message, you may suffer from alopacia. Though it's just an assumption. You should consult a Trichologist Doctor as soon as possible (who will perform some test and analyse your condition), as it's most important to know the disease first. After the diagnosis, you will get the best advice. Thanks & Regards,

Sir, My problem is stretchmarks. And I had tried so many creams but did not find any relief. So please suggest the course that will help me to get rid of this problem.

Sudden gain or loss in weight, rapid growth, heredity factors, stress and changes in physical conditions leads to stretch marks. Stretch marks happen after delivery too. Stretch marks can make you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable about your appearance. But, don't worry, there are several natural ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The stretch marks fade away with time. 1. Try to scrub the area daily and put vitamin e oil 2. You can also apply some castor oil to the stretch marks and gently massage the area in circular motions for 5 to 10 minutes 3. Use aloe vera gel on the area once a day 4. Use rich cocoa butter before going.

Hi, Start taking nutritious, healthy food and daily yoga or some kind of exercises, it will be automatically reflected on your face. Yes, the colour which is inherited from your parents/ ancestors, cannot be changed, but you can try to get glow on your face!! Daily Regime: Apart from these, you do follow CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30 – a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare cream may be, 20-30 minutes before going out daily and repeat it's application after every 3-4hrs.) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. Eat right and healthy that too on time, relieve your stress/ tensions, sleep well, stop smoking, as this restricts blood flow to your face and leaves you with a greyish complexion. lead a healthy lifestyle! Apart from this, avoid anger, anxiety, fear which increases stress hormone in the body and subsequently makes your complexion darker! (Hormonal imbalances also plays a major role). If the dull and dark skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter. Diet: -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon,orange,gooseberry,etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce) . If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: You can also use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel daily at night. Home remedies: Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this daily or every other day. Another option is squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix one to two tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Make a paste of 'Kasturi Manjal' (wild turmeric) with rose petals, saffron and raw milk which is very effective.

Try to know the reasons for hair fall issue, like is it because f any water change, any health issues etc. But for reducing the hair fall, you can use any homeopathic hair fall which contains especially arnica, jaborandi, weisbadan. Use the same shampoo for hair wash. Take sprouts[if possible]as these r rich in b-complex, egg, protein diet. Use soft water for hair wash.

Dear lybrate user scientifically hair loss is blamed to be caused due to hormones, genetic, stress, excess sebum but the main reason is your susceptibility and tendency which needs an internal constitutional treatment for cure plus dony use any shampoos and perfumed oils use shika powder to wash hair and pure oils for massaging, eat protein rich food also more vegetables and whole fruits.

Hello doctor, I am 27 year old n I have baldness problem. I almost lost my hair from centre.. Please help me..

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello doctor,
I am 27 year old n I have baldness problem. I almost lost my hair from centre.. Please help me..
Hi. Let me tell you about hairfall. In layman's language, hairfall can be divided into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent (which is called as 'Hairloss' rather). In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, may be because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up, subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. (There are different pattern and types of hairloss, because of different reasons like Alopecia Areata, Telogen Effluvium, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, etc.) Causes of hairloss: Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or male/ female pattern baldness - hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormaonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger, use of bore water, any other underlying diseases, etc. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs, pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnut and almonds), iron-rich food like green vegetables, also take flaxseeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from thistake Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. (N.B.: With the help of homoeopathic medicines, we can only prevent further progress of the hairloss, means it will get arrests in the present condition in case of progressive baldness. But, in case there are areas of baldness which has gone smooth and shiny, you will have to choose an option of Hair Transplant along with theses medications!).

Hi! I'm a 20 year old male. I have grown hair on my chest, on my back and even on my shoulders. I want to remove it from my body by laser treatment. Is it okay to undergo laser treatment for almost half of my body ? If yes then Which clinic would you suggest ? What would be the approximate cost of treatment ?

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, MRCGP, Dip Derm
Dermatologist, Delhi
Hi, Lasers are non ionizing radiation and visible light. It is safe if good equipment is being used. We at the skin centre do this job. The cost also depends upon the quality of equipment being used. I would really caution against cheap centres as I have seen severe burns happen with cheap chinese and korean equipment. You can call 9810568669 and book an appointment. Thanks Dr Sirisha Singh
