Hi, As you spend a lot of time in a sitting. The default position for many people is shoulders forward, hips flexed, back slightly bent, and hunched over. This Position leads to tightness, inflexibility, and poor posture. You need something to open your body back up, pull you into proper alignment, and help you stand up straight. It’s important to stretch out the overactive muscles in the chest and upper back, and stimulate the under-active ones in the mid-back and shoulders. Don’t worry. You can lose weight easily if you are patient and determined to shed those extra kilos. You just have to alter your daily routine, watch what you eat and be physically active. This requires you to be on your weight loss commitment for quiet long. As soon as you start seeing the results, you will be surprised as well as motivated to go beyond your weight loss and adopt and a lifelong healthy attitude. For a start please follow: 1.Watch what you eat – Are you eating too much junk, drink excessive alcohol and eating too much white food and sugar? Please cut it down to as low as you can from tomorrow. Cut down tea/coffee if you are too addicted to it. It is creating havoc inside your body. 2.Lifestyle – Are you a late sleeper and late riser? You can’t imagine what this schedule of yours is doing to your metabolism. It is degrading your digestive system from inside and your looks from outside. 3.Physically active – If you are a couch potato who loves to watch tv whole day then throw that couch of yours in the street and get yourself a treadmill tomorrow. Yes it is as simple as that. Who is stopping you? You have to be physically active all day long if you want to burn those extra calories. Do daily brisk walk, Pranayam, atleast 20 surayanamaskar everyday to start seeing the results. Take break between office work to walk a little or rather just climb some stairs to get that food you ate in lunch have space and heat to digest and absorb. What’s the harm in using your washroom to do a little middle of the day squats. Do that – No one is watching you. The key is to stay physically active all day long, no matter what. 4.Eat healthy and eat on time: Not only eating healthy is important but eating at right time is equally imp too. Have an early breakfast and early dinner and have 4 small meals between breakfast and dinner. To guide you a bit, here you go: a.Breakfast (Between 8-10 a.m) – Have oats/porridge or brown bread with milk and nuts. B.At 11 a.m - Cup of Green Tea c.Mid day meal (around 12 p.m) – Have a bowl of fruits. Citrus fruits are best taken during this hour and absorb well in the body. Have oranges, amla, pineapple etc during this hour. D.Lunch (between 2-3 p.m) – Daal, roti,mix veg, buttermilk and salad. You can also take brown rice with daal in lunch. Try to get your food cooked in olive oil. Lace your salad with apple cider vinegar, black pepper and seeds like flaxseeds or chia seeds to make it nutrition packed lunch. E.Between 4 p.m – 5 p.m – Cup of Green Tea f.Evening (4-6 p.m) – Have some nice sprouts with tomatoes and cucumber. G.Dinner (2 hours before sleeping, preferably before 9 p.m) – Paneer & veggies salad with olive oil, Roti or brown rice with Daal. H.Have a glass of warm milk. Weight loss is 80% about what you eat and 20% about exercises. That said, both the things go hand in hand. If you want to lose weight in a more healthy way than be patient and just follow the regimen everyday. Slow and steady wins the race.

Dear 30 million sperm count is normal but not good... There are steps you can take at home to increase your chances of getting your partner pregnant, including: 1.Increasing the frequency of sex. Having sexual intercourse every other day from 5- 19 day after periods increases your chances of getting your partner pregnant. 2.Avoiding lubricants. Some products such as Astroglide or K-Y jelly, lotions, and saliva might impair sperm movement and function. 3. Consume more of dairy proteins, including milk, lassi (buttermilk), and panir (fresh cheese made of milk. 4.Eat soaked almonds or soaked walnuts (you can grind them and add them to your vegetables). 5.Sweet, juicy fruits such as mangoes, peaches, plums, and pears are recommended. 6.Smoking, eating a lot of meat, or drinking alcohol is not recommended. Do morning walk daily 2 km early morning. 7. Take 2 tab siotone with milk with honey added twice a day/ 1 month.

I am so glad that you want to give up smoking. Here is how to go about it: The habit can be very difficult to halt because of the many conditions attached to smoking. In fact these conditions can exist all through the day unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing in the habit. The information is really scary. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heart beat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine chewing gum or nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here?s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world ? you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest.

1.Do steam inhalation by steam inhaler 2-3 times daily with Karvol plus inhalant capsule 2.Put otrivin nasal drop 1 drop thrice daily/otrivin nasal spray one spray three times daily 3.Take one tablet of Levocetrizine (5 mg) at bed time. 4. Drink lukewarm water/hot soup/herbal tea etc 5.If you have recurrent attack of cold you may be having sinusitis/allergic rhinitis 6.Take plain xray PNS/CT scan of PNS after consulting ENT specialist to exclude sinusitis and take treatment accordingly 7. If sinusitis is excluded, it I could be due to allergic rhinitis, do an allergy test after consulting allergy specialist/immunologist to find out the cause of allergy and follow the treatment and advice accordingly.

Hi Doctor, I have 1 Tonsil stone from last 1 month. I have tried anti-biotics, betadine gargle and even salt water gargle as suggested by the doctor, but still no effect of it. I have been facing little issues while gulping things (it feels like there is something stuck inside). Also, due to this I have started experiencing acidity problem and chest pain at times. So, I want to get it removed. It is of small in size. So, do I need to get an operation done or it can be removed without getting operated. Its tonsillolith, its not necessary to undergo operation for removing tonsillolith. It's generally removed manually and maintaining oral hygiene after it is sufficient. But, main concern in your history is development of clinical symptoms while swallowing also chest pain. Repeated tonsillitis or tonsillar infection is an indication of operation. So, get a whole body check up to rule out any systemic affects developed and undergo tonsillectomy if needed. Regarding cost, tonsillectomy can be done either by dissection method or coblation method (both under rs 35000). Best of luck.

it may gas distention trouble due to indigestion. have simple bland food (Khichadi) for next few days avoiding junk, oily, spicy fried and deep-fried food items. drink lot of water. Reduce intake of tea – coffee. Instead u can have green tea. U may drink milk (room temperature). dont lye-down or sit immediately after having meals. have a walk instead. maintain good bowel habits. for gas some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. When diabetes is well controlled fasting blood glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. From the PP level mentioned it is clear that he needs to achieve a still better control of blood glucose. That can be done by either adding some new drug or increasing the dose of current medication or increasing the extent of daily exercise and controlling diet better. Thanks.

Daily cleansing with a gentle shampoo to reduce oiliness and skin cell buildup can often help mild dandruff. Shampooing with tea tree oil can also help eliminating dandruff.
