Hi I am 31 years old. I use to get frequent headaches for years and so I did MRI which showed mucosal thickening in the right maxillary sinus. But den I did not show this mri result to doctors. What does it mean and is there nythng to worry?

Hello lybrate-user just a mucosal thickening in sinuses on mri will not indicate you have sinusitis. So you shouldn't be worrying for sinusitis ct scan would be more precise than an mri. Only if on ct pns we have significant thickening blocking the route of ventilation of sinuses than it implies you are likely to have headache which requires intervention based on the severity. Also an nasal endoscopy would help. Headache can occur due to many factors other than sinus. Get also an eye checkup done. If you have allergy issues than needs treatment. If headache is with nausea than migraine needs to be ruled out. Also get blood test like haemoglobin, random sugar level tested. Still you can do steam inhalation twice a day if that improves the headache continue for a week. Take paracetamol for headache will give symptomatic relief.

Have been recently married n doesn't know much about all this. So can you tell me the reason about it. After every time of the intercourse there is a burning sensation in the vagina is it normal or any kind of issue? please suggest what is next to b done. TIA.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD - Ayurveda

Hello- No its not normal and not a good sign. Burning or cutting pain during sex denotes lack of internal secretions and a acidic environment inside vagina. It can complicate if not treated early. It can be corrected by the use of herbal supplements and dietary modifications.

Ingrown Hair - An Overview

Ingrown Hair - An Overview

Ingrown hair refers to a situation in which a part of the body hair which has been trimmed, shaved or tweezed grows back into the skin in a curled form. This sometimes causes painful and discomforting skin conditions such as swelling, bump formation and chronic pain in the area from where the hair was removed.

This condition is mostly common among people who have very tightly curled hair on their entire bodies. Among men the most affected areas are cheeks, chin and neck. Additionally, they can also appear in cases of men who regularly shave their head. In case of women, ingrown hair is common in areas like armpits, pubic region and legs.

The most common signs of this condition are:

  1. Small skin bumps (papules)
  2. Small, pus-filled, blister-like lesions (pustules)
  3. Hyperpigmentation (skin darkening)
  4. Long lasting and chronic pain
  5. Itching

Ingrown hair might also occur if you do the following activities:

  1. Pulling your skin while shaving your body hair can give rise to ingrown hair. This in turn allows the shaved hair particles to penetrate back into the skin without growing outwards.
  2. Tweezing of hair can also lead to the hair particles to grow inwards instead of growing outwards.

Some common complications associated with this condition are:

  1. Bacterial and fungal infections that usually happen from scratching of the affected area.
  2. Hyperpigmentation of the skin which involves an abrupt darkening of the skin areas.
  3. Permanent scarring of the tissue of the affecting skin.

I am 23 years old I drink 3 bottles (500ml) thumps up per day.Is there is any risk for baby?

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
You mean, baby within your womb or any baby you have gave birth to earlier? In both the cases it is harmful for your baby, because drinking that amount of sugar is going to take toll upon your health and you shall become sick. So that shall affect your baby. Child of a sick mother is always pitied. Stop that practice immediately.

How can I make my stitches faster dissolve? I have 5 stitches at my vaginal area after baby delivery? And its pained alot What I can do?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Faridabad
If these are self adsorbing stitches then you have no control over when they dissolve, and they are designed to stay intact till the site heals. There is really nothing you can do to change anything except eat healthy normal foods and leave the affected area alone. There are cosmetic scar "removal" creams available to use only after healing is total and complete.

Can I do sex without condoms with my life partner?

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), DGO
Gynaecologist,
Of course yes. The only thing you need to be worried about is unwanted pregnancy. Make sure your life partner is using some form of contraception if you are not planning a child now.
