There is long list of conditions causing such problem. But most common is mechanical due to muscle spasm which usually improves with physiotherapy. If no improvement than you must visit to a doctor.

I am a male 64 years age. 2 years ago I had developed knee pain which occurred quite suddenly while working at my computer in the office. Pain was initially on the right knee. After examination by an orthopedic doctor he advised me of arthroscopic surgery. I had undergone this surgery with subsequent physiotherapy for 6 months. During this time pain started in the left knee also. The doctor says it is arthritis. Now after the physiotherapy I am able to walk, but have lost the flexibility of both knees. (Cannot bend more than 90 degrees) I would like to know if there is any treatment to restore this flexibility other than knee replacement surgery.

Flexibility limitation of the knee can be due to collection of fluid (inflammatory. Or any structural changes in or around the knee joints, since you have already consulted an orthopedic surgeon, do consult a rheumatologist not to miss out on any diagnosis of inflammatory arthritis which can be easily managed.

Ayurvedic Ways To Manage Joint And Spine Pain!

Panchakarma is an ayurvedic technique which is used to detoxify the body, boost the immune system and restore the balance in the body. Due to lack of exercise and a poor diet, the waste material generated by the body is not effectively discharged. This causes accumulation of toxins in the body that can result in diseases.

Panchakarma can be used to treat and heal the pain in the joints and the spine. There are specific treatments in panchakarma that targets these regions, they are:

1. Abhyanga - Abhyanga is a technique where warm oil is used to cover the entire body. The oil is then gently massaged so that it can penetrate the underlying tissues. It is used to lubricate the joints, muscle toning and to increase blood supply around nerve endings.

 2. Pindasweda - In this technique hot cotton bags consisting of herbs, rice, and sand or medical powder are used to massage the body. This rejuvenating therapy induces perspiration in the body by which the herbs and the heat penetrates into the body. It is used to treat problems of the joints such as gout, arthritis, and sciatica.


 3. Upanaha - A combination of herbal medicine is applied to the affected part and then covered with medicinal leaves. The herbs help in easing the muscles and tendons of the affected part. It relieves pain, reduces swellings and improves mobility in the joint.

 4. Kati vista - In this treatment, medicated oil is pooled into a collar made from dough and then placed on the lower back for a specific amount of time. It strengthens the lower back, lubricates the spine and acts as a muscle pain reliever. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ayurveda.

Ligament injury is quite serious condition especially at ankle region as ankle joint is very important joint as it takes the entire body weight and it acts like torsion ie. The kinetic force is taken ie. The moving force is taken by the joint and the entire body weight is taken by both the ankle during walking, running and standing. It is prone to more vulnerability especially during movements (kinetic action of the body) The ligament injury wouldn't have healed properly that's the reason for you to have pain while you started walking or running or while kicking during sport activity. Generally lower limb takes more time to heal as the entire body weight is taken by the foot. It is important to wear MCR chappals as it distributes the weight evenly and it makes the foot to feel less pressure. You can take good Iron supplement, calcium and vitamin D which will help you to have quick recovery and also it helps for quick healing and recovery. You can do hot water fermentation will help to reduce the inflammation and it helps to have better range of motion. If you practice this way it will not hurt your foot any more.

Hi, do quadriceps muscle strengthing exercise and hamstring stretching, if possible do cycling and squats it helps you in muscle strengthing, so learn all exercise from your physiotherapist and continue those exercise for 3 month, you will be fine.

Hot Fomentation. Gentle Shoulder Stretching. Core Strengthening Exercises. Gentle Neck Exercises. Avoid sleeping on affected side.. Warm up and cool down is a must

If there was no trauma or injury to the back, and also if you didn't lift any heavy weight and the pain started, then it could be due to posture related or mechanical backache. You can use a hot water bag in your back for 10-15 min and then apply some ointment like nice gel. Eventually you need to strengthen your back muscles by exercising (simple exercises) like pelvic lifting, static back etc, also some of the yoga asanas are also good for back like bhujangasan etc.

Requires examination and investigation in detail. Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it.
