All individuals requires scaling (cleaning) to be done atleast once in 6 months to maintain our oral hygiene clean. Our toothbrush is not much finely designed to clean all the plaque and calculi in the interdental areas of the teeth, which is the area where most of the calculus accumulate much and has to be removed regularly using scalers by the dentist.

Dear Lybrateuser, - Do steam inhalation twice a day - do warm salt water gargles three times a day - avoid dust, smoke, sprays, fried, sour & junk foods - have a well balanced diet with more of fruits & vegetables, whole grains, low fat dairy, lean meats, nuts to boost your immunity - have 7-8 glasses of water for proper hydration - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, playing games, swimming, also include yoga, deep breathing for 5-10 min a day - do investigations, blood hemoglobin, absolute eosinophil count, x- ray PNS & chest to rule out any other problem, consult a doctor.

A full-fledged sleep is important for human health. For many years, scientists are researching all of the parameters of sleep, ascertain their significance for the body, deal with the causes of snoring, which sometimes is the main enemy of the quality of sleep.
Without treatment, challenged the dream can lead not only to the constant fatigue, but also a cause of such effects as the occasional bout of drowsiness (gipnolepsiya), myocardial infarction, lowering the protective forces of the organism or violation of the brain.
According to the statistics they snore in sleep 25 % of the people on the earth after thirty years, and this applies to both men and women. Snoring makes it difficult to sleep man, but not prevents sleep so much as sleep apnea, which is the most serious consequence of snoring.
 

Reason for snoring:
1. Excessive weight muscle tone becomes weak, which is the cause of snoring. Even with a mild degree of obesity increases the risk of snoring in 10 times, and syndrome obstruktivnogo sleep apnea are diagnosed by more than half of the cases.

2. Hereditary anatomical differences (the defunct ago chin, little lower jaw - mikrognatiya, large tongue, cleft palate, iskrivlennaya septum nose, tongue)

3. Chronic diseases (adenoids nasal, sinus problems, chronic tonsillitis, allergic rhinitis)

4. Reduced the function of the thyroid gland. The lack of thyroid hormones causing nasal mucous membranes with edema and obesity, i. e. The right to two factors that provoke snoring.

Hi Seshuk, The process of filling the gap between teeth is known as orthodontic treatment, wherein you will be required to wear braces (an appliance with wires) for anywhere between 6 months to 1 year, depending upon the exact condition of your teeth. However, this treatment will serve as a permanent solution to your problem. You teeth alignment will become better and your smile will improve, These days, braces, similar to the color of teeth (ceramic braces) have also become available which are potentially much better looking than the conventional silver appliances. The short and sweet answer to your specific question is - no it is not good practice to stuff food late at night. Our physiology is designed to spend night time repairing and restoring health. This is one of the reasons behind your 98 kg weight. best wishes.

Do some warm salt water gargles to have some instant relief and also if you have some densensitizing toothpaste. Apply it on the particular tooth. You can see the dentist after that.

I am 67 yrs old and suffering from heaviness in head, headache, chakar anna and not feeling fresh for the last 1 month. I was diagnosed suffering from mg by neurologist in oct 2010. Since then, I am taking medicine for the same prescribed by a neurologist ( myfortic 600mg 1bd + distinon 60mg 3 times a day. It got 1st revealed in oct 2010 due to ptosis. Presently effect of ptosis is not there and neurologist during periodic check up has told that signs of mg are not appearing. Will you please Advise.

You are suffering from myasthenia gravis. Those symptoms you have described, can occur to any person of your age without mg even. Hope your neurologist is doing very good on your mg problem. He has totally controlled your disease. You should follow his advice. For these symptoms why don't you consult him again? those thing can occur from 101 causes. From a normal temporary matter to some real complicated brain problem. So your neurologist shall be the best person to give you a verdict.

You may be having hyper acidity 1.Take bland diet, Avoid foods which cause acidity like spicy, oily, fatty and junk foods, onion, garlic, citrus fruit, tomato etc 2..Have proper Breakfast, Don’t skip or postpone your meal, Take home made food, Avoid food and water from outside, 3.Eat smaller meals at frequent intervals like 5-6 meals per day, and don't overeat. 4.Drink plenty of water. Take your meal regularly and timely. Avoid fasting, Don’t skip your breakfast. 5. Stop smoking, consumption of alcohol and tobacco, excess tea or coffee if you are having, 7. Avoid stress 8. Take one tablet of pan40 in the morning before breakfast daily for few days.9.Consult me for further advice

Lybrate-user ji you have neither mentioned your age nor your weight and height. This things are very important for knee pain. If your weight is more for your height you need to reduce it. Knee pain wil b due to it most of the time. If your age is more say more than 55 or 60 you may have damaged cartilaze of your joint for that you need to consult an irthopadician who in turn wil advice you to undergo an x ray and an mri. From which he will diagnose your problem nd give you some medicine to rejuvunate your cartilase. Along with it he will advice you to strength your qudriceps muscles for which you need to visit a physiotherapist. You need to stopusing stairs. Do not sit on floor I mean do not use indian toilet instead use western toilet. Do not bend your knee more than 90 degree means use dinning table to take you lunch dinner or breakfast do not sit on floor. Do not squate. And if he feels that the damage is unrepairable than he will advise you to undergo a surgery that is knee replacement.

Any number of conditions — varying greatly in severity — may cause secondary headaches. Get your blood pressure checked, make a chart. Let me know about the readings, will give you medication accordingly. Also, get eyes tested. Medication: Meantime, can start with homoeopathic medicine - Bakson's Mig-Aid tablet/ after every 2 hours.

You can do muscle build up exercise and follow a proper diet. Eat more food. Eat more calorie rich foods like cake, pastries, chocolate, ice cream, ghee, butter, cheese, almond. Walnut, flax seed, sunflower seed. Eat protein like fish, egg. Peanut, peas, soy milk, soy product, mushroom, tofu in extra amount. Eat more dense fruits, vegetables, unrefined food stuffs. Use whole cream milk or milk shake. You can use weight gainer supplement. Avoid smoking, alcohol. Drink lots of water but not during meals. Take quality sleep.

Hi lybrate-user Hypertension in young may be due to genetic and secondary causes but still most common cause in young is essential hypertension. Uncontrolled blood pressure may affect almost all system of body like heart, kidney and brain (may leads to heart block, renal failure and stroke). Cure of hypertension is only possible for secondary causes, rest scenario good control may prevent from all ill effects. For a better control on BP you should follow healthy lifestyle (regular exercise, decrease weight, low calorie and salt diet) with regular medicine intake as advised. There is also important role of regular BP monitoring and check ups to rule out other organs damage.

I would like to know whether glucometer reading is accurate or manual testing is ok recently I tested my blood sugar in glucometer it showed 190 where as in manual testing it showed 240 which reading is correct I am using glucocard vital please help.

glucometer reading shows sugar in the capillary blood, which is invariably about 11% higher than the sugar level in venous blood, particularly when after food blood sugar is tested the difference is more visible. Now a days most glucometers are calibrated to show readings as in the venous blood. Therefore regular monitoring of blood sugars at home glucometers are quite good.

Dear lybrate user with the limited information provided it appears that you are suffering form indigestion issues. This is a common entity when we consume a high carbohydrate load and our intestines are not able to cater all of it, which is then converted to free compounds which later presents as flatulence and uneasiness. It is advisable if you can start exercising regularly along with intake of high fibre diet and liberal fluid intake. Some blood test can also be done if your problem persist. You also have to make a lot of lifestyle changes. Correct your diet. Consume plenty of pulses, legumes, sprouts, grams, soya and nuts. If you r nonvegetarian, have meat, fish, milk and milk products in plenty. Drink lots of water. Avoid stressing over your hair fall since dopamine released can decrease hair further. Stay away from chemicals like hair dyes, bleaches. Avoid straighteners and hot combs. Overwashing and overshampooing can make your hair fall. Wash your hair twice a week and shampoo on the same day. Use mild shampoos. Massage scalp thoroughly to increase blood circulation. Towel dry hair, do not use blow dryers. Make sure not to sleep with wet damp hair. Comb hair regularly before going out. Protect your hair from sun. Stay away from alcohol and caffeinated drinks like coffee and cola since they produce antioxidants which damage free radicals. Exercise regularly for it promotes blood flow and enhances healthy, shiny hair growth. Yoga and meditation help destress. You vil need to take biotin tablets everyday after breakfast.
