I am 61 years old healthy male without any history of disease or pain. I am physically fit and now also give lectures for five hours every day to students. I regularly attend gym for five times a week where I do cardio for half an hour and weight exercises for another half an hour without much strain. Can I do weights at this age? will it have any adverse effect on my health later? pl advice. Thank you.

To increase weight you need to practice it properly and patiently. Start your day with 5-6 soaked almonds + 1 walnut +3-4 raisins. Then in breakfast you can have 2-3 boiled eggs + toast and banana shake or paneer parantha + curd then in mid morning you can have a glass of butter milk + kala chana chaat then in lunch have 2-3 chapati + veg + salad or dal + rice + salad+ curd after half an hour have a cup of green tea then in evening have mango shake + murmura chaat then in dinner have 2-3 chapati + veg + salad. Do not skip any meal and try to have frequent meals. If you want to gain muscle mass then take protein rich sources every day twice. Team Nutrihealth.

Researchers also found that in overweight individuals, losing weight may improve the effectiveness of treatments. Bad breath can be due to the pharyngeal infection or sinus infection as in cough n cold. It should be relievd when you recover from cold n cough. You should also not ignore local oral factors like deposits on teeth n cavities which also produce bad breath and made obvious by cough. So dental chk up is also must.

Knee advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Thank you for writing to us. Please follow the below recommendation for your condition: Cinnamon Tea - Directions for its use: Place the cinnamon in a mug and cover with 8 ounces of boiling water. Steep for 15 minutes before straining. Drinking 1-2 times a day. OR -- Place green tea and ginger in a strainer or sieve and cover with 8 ounces of boiling water. Steeping green tea for too long can leave it with a bitter taste, so don’t exceed 3-4 minutes. You can stir in a little raw honey if you really need to sweeten it, but avoid milk or sugar at all costs. Drink 1-2 cups daily on an empty stomach. Diet, exercise, and behavioral modification should be included in all obesity management approaches for body mass index (BMI) of 25 kg/m 2 or higher. Other tools, such as pharmacotherapy for BMI of 27 kg/m 2 or higher with comorbidity or BMI over 30 kg/m2 and bariatric surgery for BMI of 35 kg/m2 with comorbidity or BMI over 40 kg/m 2, should be used as adjuncts to behavioral modification to reduce food intake and increase physical activity when this is possible.
