Sensitive teeth and gums can be difficult to endure on a daily basis, because foods you eat and liquids you drink can cause you pain. By chewing on a guava leaf twice a day, you can relieve gum and tooth sensitivity, bleeding gums or mouth sores.
Not only do guava leaves relieve pain in the mouth, but a guava leaf can be ground up and used as a toothpaste to relieve sensitivity, as well as cure bad breath associated with gingivitis.

Submucous fibrosis is another premalignant condition which causes marbling or whitening of the whole mucosa and leads to decreased mouth opening as it progresses. Supari and tobacco consumption are the most common causes. If mouth opening is good, then probably the Submucous fibrosis is early stage. It is an irreversible condition which has chances of developing oral cancer in about 1-10 % patients. Regular monitoring is advisable with a head and neck surgeon or a surgical oncologist to detect cancer ar an early stage of it develops. Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss this further.

My upper jaw's 6th tooth has a cavity and I am suffering from severe pain while chewing food grains. Please advise me...
In case of cavity you need to see a dentist and get the caries removed and filling done. For the time being do warm saline rinses and hv any pain killer, this will help you reduce your pain. Colgate paste with colgate soft bristles toothbrush is all time best.

There is an ulcer in my mouth on both sides. I'm worrying that it can be cancer. There is no pain, however. Kindly help.

You can't say that this is cancer by just seeing. You hav to go some conformation test. I will suggest consult your dentist.

I am 32 years old man and sometimes I saw blood from my throat after completing the brushing to my teeth and gargals. Please tell me why it is so?

I am 32 years old man and sometimes I saw blood from my throat after completing the brushing to my teeth and gargals....
If you see blood after brushing your teeth then it is bleeding from your gums and not from your throat. Kindly get scaling done and use gum paint twice daily for 15 days. Brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Hello, Firstly you need to stop chewing tobacco and related stuff. You need to visit the dentist for mouth opening exercises and intralesional injections if required. In case mouth opening is not achieved, then minor surgery is required for the same.

How to get rid of oral sensitivity, it gives a sharp and narrow pain for me. Sensodyne n other pastes only only satisfying the temporary pain but do not help in long run. Pls help me.

Teeth sensitivity is a result of loss of outer most layer (enamel) of teeth. That can be due to: - tooth grinding - acidic beverages (such as soda) that cause enamel erosion and dentin exposure. - brushing with a very abrasive toothpaste, brushing incorrectly and/or brushing more than three times a day could result in a loss of enamel. - a chipped or fractured tooth may expose the dentin. Here are few steps to avoid sensitivity of teeth: - practice good oral hygiene. - use a sensitivity toothpaste like sensodyne. - don't brush too hard. - use a softer toothbrush. - take care while consuming acidic foods. - use fluoridated dental products. - avoid grinding your teeth. - see your dentist regularly for professional tooth cleaning, dental care recommendations and advice on treating your sensitive teeth.

Nature's Cavity Fighter

Fluoride is a mineral that helps fight tooth decay. It is found in public water supplies, toothpaste and many other dental products.

Often called, “nature’s cavity fighter,” fluoride helps repair the early stages of tooth decay even before the decay can be seen. Research shows that fluoride helps prevent cavities in children and adults by making teeth more resistant to the acid attacks that cause cavities. When you brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste, use other fluoride dental products, and drink water with fluoride you are preventing cavities and strengthening your teeth’s outer surface, called enamel.

If you have a good chance of getting cavities, your dentist can apply fluoride to your teeth during your dental visit. Your dentist might also tell you to use a special fluoride rinse, paste or gel at home
