Dear user, correct your posture first. Avoid forward bending, heavy weight lifting for few days, wear lumbosarcral belt. Use hard bed when you sleep. Take hot fomentation, apply pain relieving gel on back. Do lumbar spinal extension exercises. Change your position after every 45 minutes. Do it this protocol for 5 days and then revert. Thanks.

For better Sex life: sexual weakness in men can be of either physical or psychological origin. Physical causes Alcoholism – quite common. Abuse of drugs such as cocaine. Obesity – quite common; slimming down will often help. Anaemia - unusual, unless the man has been bleeding for any reason. Hyperprolactinaemia the pituitary gland produces too much of the hormone prolactin. Prescribed drugs – particularly Proscar (finasteride), a tablet used for prostate problems and also medications affecting the brain. Low testosterone level – contrary to what many people think, this is uncommon, except in cases where some injury or illness has affected the testicles. Any major disease such as diabetes. Head injury. An underactive thyroid gland. Psychological causes Depression – very common. Stress and overwork. Exhaustion. Hang-ups from childhood. Latent homosexuality. Serious relationship problems with your partner. Treatment: Get physical check-up, and also any blood tests which the doctor thinks necessary, like a blood count or thyroid tests. All the above causes of lack of libido can respond well to therapy. Among the most difficult to treat are those that involve marital problems or hang-ups about sex. For these, a good place to go is a Relate clinic. Medicines: DHEA Short for dehydroepiandrosterone, this neurotransmitter is required for the production of testosterone, the hormone that can rev up sex drive. Acupuncture Improves libido and after 12 consecutive weeks of acupuncture treatment. Testosterone: Yoga A 12 weeks of yoga increases Libido. Bupropion This antidepressant works by increasing levels of dopamine and norepinephrine, two hormones essential to arousal. Mediterranean Diet Mindfulness Meditation Viagra For those whose sexual dysfunction is related to taking antidepressants.

Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Simple Knee Exercises would help to strengthen the quadriceps muscle which is the key muscle. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping a soft ball underneath the knee and you have to keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone.

Hello, Its very important to understand with every delivery (cs section) core muscles (abs and back) gets weakend, so its necessary to do core exercises, back strengthening exercises atleast 3 months after delivery, no medicines will help in gaining the musculat strength, it will only help in pain releif. Other than that your posture during feeding, nappy changing etc all take a toll on the back, so best would be to consult a physiotherapist and start with proper exercises which will help all your muscles. Also avoid sitting on a low chair or sofa (soft surface) sit on a chair with back support ,it will help.

Tips For Fast & Less Painful Recovery Post Surgery!

Tips For Fast & Less Painful Recovery Post Surgery!

Knee joint surgery is a long and arduous procedure in most causes. However, outpatient procedures sometimes take less than an hour and require minimal recovery time. It is commonly conducted in cases of:

  1. Progressive arthritisa
  2. Injury, dislocation or fracture
  3. To fix deformities

If one is aware of these informative tips post-surgery, recovery can be a less painful and easier process :

  1. Clean linen sheets to prevent infection to the wound
  2. In case of pain, ice packs over the bandage can be used. However, one should be cautious as extended use of ice can result in cold burns
  3. Installation of preventive fall equipment is necessary to ensure that the patient does not sustain further injuries post-surgery.
  4. Knee surgery recovery can be very time consuming in which case, the patient may experience high levels of anxiety, and depression. A close friend should be available in times of emotional need to reduce negative feelings.
  5. Crutches and other supportive objects should perpetually be in close proximity to the patient as it can be very difficult for patients to reach their close destination without the help of these necessities when in need.
  6. In case of intensive pain attacks, the patient should be taught relaxation techniques such as breathing in and out or breathing intensively in settled intervals
  7. The patient should be put on a strict diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, carbohydrates and healthy fat to allow faster recovery
  8. The patient should also get 8-10 hours of sleep daily to allow the system to recover on its own
  9. The patient should not put pressure on their body during the recovery time, especially the injured area

It is a prerequisite for the families and loved ones of the patients to show emotional support as feelings of isolation can cause further pain to the patient. Along with that, the patient should keep a positive attitude during the course of their bed-rest time. If one keeps these tips noted, recovery can be a less arduous condition. Consult an Expert & get answers to your questions!

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There are many causes of swelling in the legs. Most common reason is postural and many patients develop it when they stand for a long time, but as soon as they elevate their leg up, the swelling subsides. It can happen after any injury which is a priority to diagnose and treat accordingly. Also there could be infection or inflammation which can lead to swelling. Sometimes heavy physical activity may also lead to swelling in your calf muscles. But we have to look at medical causes as well, chronic cardiac conditions can lead to swelling, any pathology which leads to low proteins in the body like deranged lft, kft etc can also lead to swelling. Hypothyroidism can also lead to generalized swelling like appearance in the body. So for accurate diagnosis we need to clinically evaluate and get appropriate tests: cbc, esr, crp, lft, kft, serum electrolytes and thyroid profile. Please get back to me should you need more information or with test results. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.
