I am a 21 years male and I am suffering from Tuberculosis, my eight months medication is over and last month drugs are ongoing. I take rifampicin, isoniazid 600 and combutol 1000 daily and regularly . My Liver function tests are normal everything is fine with my body but I cannot understand that before taking this medication I often drank 5-6 peg of alcohol but never vomited and now vomiting problem creates a huge embarrassment for me, well since last 3 months I had alcohol for only 3 times and all the three times I have vomited.

Well, it's good that you have limited your alcohol consumption to the minimum. Alcohol and isoniazid do not react well when taken together. Alcohol may increase the risk of liver damage with isoniazid. Those who are on isoniazid are advised to abstain from alcohol as they may have unpleasant side effects. Once the drug is stopped you will not have these symptoms after alcohol consumption.

I have asthma problem for over 20 years. What should I do? Give suggestions for better relief.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the airways. Asthma is characterized by recurrent episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing. Sputum may be produced from the lung by coughing but is often hard to bring up. During recovery from an attack, it may appear pus-like due to high levels of white blood cells called eosinophils. Symptoms are usually worse at night and in the early morning or in response to exercise or cold air. Some people with asthma rarely experience symptoms, usually in response to triggers, whereas others may have marked and persistent symptoms. Asthma is thought to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Medication: Bronchitis/ Asthma can be treated with homoeopathic medicines completely, only need to be regular with the medication and avoid those foods/ things to which you are allergic to for the time being. Keep taking your on going medication, reduce it gradually and slowly once homoeopathic starts acting. Take Bakson's Astha-Aid drops/ 10-15 drops in 1/2 cup water/ thrice d day for 1 month. Report me back after a month.

Asthma at present can be treated with medications like inhalers and tablets, regarding permanent cure there are options like sublingual immunotherapy, consult a nearby ent specialist or allergist or respiratory physician for further workup and to determine if you are a good candidate for sublingual immunotherapy.

I am 22yr old boy. I am suffering from severe fever, we tested to near by doctor they told to check to ent doctor. I went and finally they told sinus. It is a problem.

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Hello, sinusitis is a common affliction these days occuring as a result of either a structural deformity in your nose cavity or complication of diseases like common cold. The problem you are facing can be solved adequately by a proper course of antibiotic, nasal decongestants and steam inhalation. However if the symptoms persist, or if you problem is because of some structural deformity such as a nasal polyp, surgery maybe necessary. In case of repeated attacks of sinusitis, please consult a qualified ent specialist to seek out the cause. For this, a nasal endoscopy may be necessary. Please go prepared for that. Thank you.

I have been diagnosed with abdominal tuberculosis. Doc. Says it will take 1 year to treat. Please suggest me some home remedies or exercises etc. To speed up the treatment.

DNB(Respiratory Diseases), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Jabalpur
Take a high protein diet rich in fruits and vegetable, no smoke/alcohol, avoid stress, adequate rest, only measures to take at home for an tb patients. Rest the medicine will do, so taking a correct treatment, in correct dosage for an adequate period is necessary for getting cured, and dots treatment is best in most of the scenarios.

I have asthma for over 2 years. What should I do?

MD, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda,
Asthma Tips Dos Consume healthy diet, include fresh vegetables and fruits. Manage your weight and restrict the intake of calories. People who areobeseare more likely to have more severe asthma symptoms. Stress quickly depresses the immune system. Learn to manage stress in personally effective ways. Follow an ?early-to-bed, early-to-rise? routine. Add a little dried ginger powder to your milk, and fresh ginger to your meals. Try to get some fresh air and sunshine each day. Exercise boosts the immune system but do it in moderation. Don?ts Avoid smoking. Smokingalways makes asthma worse. Avoid strenuous exercise Avoid sleeping during day time. Avoid exposure to rain, humidity, dust and pollens. Avoid consuming bananas, citrus fruits, ice-cream, cold drinks and fried foods. If you are allergic to specific food, better to avoid it. Last but not least, Take ayurvedic tablets to enhance immunity and cure asthma.
