What are the reason for excessive increase in triglycerides more than 1000. Even if the BMI is in control.

Regularly eating more of unwanted calories and there has to be an underlying disease like diabetes or kidney disease or hypothyroidism and which can cause increase in triglycerides levels.

I am suffering from high bp problems n there is lack of sleep n sometimes I have to face pimples on my face what should I do.

Dear, To control & maintan BP normal these are best methods to follow:.• Do physical exercise like jogging or brisk walk for atleast 20-30 minutes. • Maintain your cholesterol level to normal & eat least amount of butter, cream or fatty things. • Eat less amount of pickle, salt and fast food as they contain high sodium levels. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of caffine containing coffee, tea or cold drinks because caffine causes increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily • Take 6 to 8 hrs of sleep daily. Do not take too much stress. • Do long breathing pranayams (Anulom- Vilom, Bhramari) daily for 10 - 15 minutes. It will reduce your stress level in your body. • Eat healthy diet such as green leafy vegetables, fruits. • Take 5 ml of GULAB Jal added in a glass of water daily once a day.

Hello Doctor, I have got red bumps and puss like bumps on my chest due to waxing. I wax usually and apply elovera gel and I get few bumps which are not to noticeable. But the bumps I have on my chest right now are just not reducing since past 1 week and is looking terrible even after frequently applying elovera gel on it.

She is 42 years old. She had mechanical MVR surgery in 2006. 12 days ago she has Left MCA brain stroke. ICA, MCA Blocked diagnosed. Now she is completely fine. But What PT INR should she kept regularly? She is taking warf - 3 mg regularly.

For mechanical mitral valve with history of stroke the appropriate level of inr is 3-4. Dose can be adjusted accordingly.

Hi lybrate-user, Please do not use a single blood pressure number to see if the blood pressure is high or low. When treating blood pressure, you evaluate various co-morbidities like heart disease, diabetes, stroke etc do decide how aggressively it should be treated. Also keep a log of the blood pressure to get an idea of the trend. Thanks.

I am suffering from chest pain I think oall is due to my habit of smoking how I can get rid of this habit.

You have to quit cold turkey because the body and mind will torture you endlessly while attempting a reduction in smoking. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged on. But don’t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. I don’t know what other organs could be damaged but do go for a thorough medical check-up to assess the effects of your abuse. Regarding improving your lungs, do a lot of aerobic exercise breathing through your nostrils only. Then there are a lot of deep breathing exercises in Yoga which you can learn too. Deep breathing cleanses your system and lungs and restores it to good health. Deep breathing uses the 80% of the lungs which are not normally used in normal breathing and even when exerting yourself. The greatest effect is in the lungs because this substance is processed through the respiratory system directly through the lung surface. When quitting, you must take one day at a time; though you must give up all smoking at once, and promptly. If you look too far ahead you will get discouraged and will give up. If you sit and count the number of days you have given up, that will also focus too much on achievement. You must focus on the here and now, on that day to be precise. After all quitting is not that easy due to many factors. So even if you fail one day, you must try and try again. Very few people succeed in their first attempt. Your persistence will eventually pay off. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact, these conditions can exist all through the day, unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing the habit. The information is really scary but true and you must remind yourself about this every day. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heartbeat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact, it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chew gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. At least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest. You could also join twitter2quit program and enjoy its success to give up smoking.

5 foods that fight high cholesterol

Oats give you soluble fiber. Add a banana or some strawberries to get more soluble fibers.
Beans are especially rich in soluble fiber. They also take a while for the body to digest, meaning you feel full for longer after a meal.
Nuts: Eating almonds, walnuts, peanuts and other nuts is good for the heart. Eating 2 ounces of nuts a day can slightly lower LDL by about 5%. Nuts have additional nutrients that protect the heart in other ways.
Foods fortified with sterols and stanols. Companies are adding them to foods ranging from margarine and granola bars to orange juice and chocolate. They?re also available as supplements. Getting 2 grams of plant sterols or stanols a day can lower LDL cholesterol by about 10%.
Fatty fish. Eating fish 2 to 3 times a week can lower LDL in two ways: by replacing meat, which has LDL?boosting saturated fats and by delivering LDL?lowering omega?3 fats.

My blood pressure is 140/90 and I am 50. I exercise daily and take high fibre dash diet. I want to keep off medication due to its dangerous side effects. I want to lead a natural life. I have no other medical issue and I am fully fit and fine. Is that OK,

Camel. Milk is good for people who. Live in location where camels are common. In grasslands, goats milk is considered excellent. All India, Cow milk is considered most healthy. All milks have different grades of minerals. If you general health is ok. A small amount of any milk is good. Regards.

I suffered heart attack in October 2010 CAD. One stent was put in. Since that I am fine. IE controlled cholesterol levels. Now I have 128 sugar level at fasting and hbAg level around less than 7.0 since last three quarters. What is to be done now?

May I know your bp. As low bp is normal for some persons. If you have any other complaints or symptoms related to low bp then only you should take any treatment. Drink plenty of liquids daily. Take nutritious diet and include multivitamins in your daily regime.

Hi, I have planted pacemaker. So my query is, can pacemaker give small electric shock inside cause I use to feel inside sometime and get exhausted for few seconds.
