DEAR Shoulder pain Physiotherapy uses a number of different physical methods to promote healing. If you are referred to a physiotherapist, they should explain to you what treatment they will use and how it will work. Possible treatments include: •specific shoulder exercises – for example, if you have shoulder instability, you may be given exercises to strengthen your shoulder •massage – where the physiotherapist uses their hands to manipulate your shoulder Read more about some of the different techniques used inphysiotherapy. Shoulder exercises it's important to keep your shoulder joint mobile with light and gentle movement. Not using your shoulder can cause your muscles to waste away and may make any stiffness worse. Therefore, if possible, you should continue using your shoulder as normal. If your shoulder is very stiff, exercise may be painful. Your GP or physiotherapist can give you exercises to do without further damaging your shoulder. You may be given exercises to do on your own, or you may complete the exercises with supervision from your GP or physiotherapist. You may also have manual therapy, where the healthcare professional moves your arm for you. Manual therapy uses special techniques to move the joints and soft tissues in your shoulder. One review of a number of studies found that long-term physiotherapy was as effective as surgery for impingement syndrome (any type of damage to the tendons in the rotator cuff). I HOPE you WILL FITT AND FINE.

I am 23 year old, male. From 2-3 days I am suffering from my back problem. So, what to do now?

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
I am 23 year old, male. From 2-3 days I am suffering from my back problem. So, what to do now?
I suggest you follow the below for your condition: Take Mag Phos 12x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Rest. Ceasing activity for a few days allows injured tissue and even nerve roots to begin to heal, which in turn will help relieve lower back pain. However, more than a few days of rest can lead to a weakening of the muscles, and weak muscles have to struggle to adequately support the spine. Patients who do not regularly exercise to build strength and flexibility are more likely to experience recurrent or prolonged lower back pain. Heat and Ice Packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately. I am suffering with neck pain. Please tell me the reasons and the solution for it.
Dear lybrateuser, - Your neck pain could be due to a soft tissue( muscular) problem - do minimal neck movement - apply pain relief gel lightly on affected area three times a day - take a pain relief tablet after meals 2-3 times a day - use a firm pillow for proper support of neck & shoulders while sleeping - if pain is of long standing then x-ray cervical spine can be done to rule out any bony injury or problem.

I will suggest a few simple home remedies for weight loss. Follow this everyday to get the desired results. Practice this along with yoga for best results. 1. Warm cumin water - boil one liter of water with I teaspoon cumin for 10 minutes. Filter and keep it in a flask. Have one cup of this water every now and then. Remember, the water should be warm when you drink it. 2. Millets - this is highly recommended. Little millet/fox tail millet/kodo millet/ragi - these are some of the commonly available millets. They are very useful in weight loss and are very nutritious too. Use millets for either breakfast or dinner everyday you can make idly/dosa/upma etc out of them 3. Dinner - this is one meal where you have to be very cautious. Avoid proteins like pulses, non veg etc and milk products - like panneer rice etc for dinner. Avoid rice too. A ideal dinner will be - thick vegetable soup with a few slices of brown bread or roti and boiled vegetables or millets with boiled vegetables.

Bones does not grow Is it not? In such cases how the broken bone joins and make like a good non infected bone? Regards

bone cells multiply and this lays down new bone by a process of cell multiplication and then calcification of the matrix. when the bone breaks the cells in the broken ends multiply and forms a new bone called CALLUS which later matures to form the proper hard bone.

Hi, There could be two potential reasons behind these symptoms: First- you may have a decayed tooth which is damaged up till the nerves and causing pain, and the same pain is radiating to the ear and neck. Second- Your third molar may be in the erupting stage. It commonly erupts between 17 to 25 years of age and causes trouble to the patient until it has erupted fully. Depending upon the cause, the treatment line would be different. I suggest that you consult me privately on Lybrate for more specific answers and for an appropriate prescription. Take care.

My mother is suffering from spondylitis. Daily she suffer any problem. Someday she suffers a severe headache, someday a severe dizziness and today an intense pain in her back. Her shoulder and neck is very paining. She is unable to move her hands, sneeze.(Unke nus chad gai hai.) Please help. How to cure all this.

MSc in Orhopedic Physiotherapy (UK), BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
Heat is an effective mean of reducing and relieving pain in cervical spondylosis. You can use hot packs at home. Some exercises like static contractions and strengthening exercises are needs to be done. Isometric contractions of the cervical muscles improve the muscle endurance and tone as the contractions improve the blood supply thereby the nutrition to the muscle is increased and hence muscle strengthening is done. You may need traction and soft tissue techniques for the management of cs. Postural awareness is very important. As the condition progresses, the abnormality of posture also increases, thus from the initial stage itself, postural awareness through proper advice and education should be planned and initiated by the physiotherapist. Best wishes.
