What are the symptoms of malaria fever and tips to avoid the malaria fever and how to cure this malaria fever.

MBBS, MD - Community Medicine
General Physician, Jaipur
What are the symptoms of malaria fever and tips to avoid the malaria fever and how to cure this malaria fever.
It is transmitted by the infective bite of Anopheles mosquito. Symptoms of malaria Typically, malaria produces fever, headache, vomiting and other flu-like symptoms. Complicated malaria may cause anemia, jaundice, fits, unconsciousness, cerebral fever etc. For diagnosis of malaria there are two type tests available; one is RDK Rapid Diagnositc Kit (less reliable); Other one is Peripheral smear of blood. If it comes positive contact doctor for treatment, however, most of times it doesn’t come positive because timing of test, therefore, get tested for malaria at time of peak of fever. Treatment depends on type and severity of malaria, and patient's condition. How to protect ourselves from Malaria/ Dengue? Similar measures are used to protect ourselves from Malaria/ Dengue/ Chikungunya. Keep yourself protected from mosquito bites. Children should not be allowed to play in shorts and half sleeved clothes Use Mosquito bed nets/ Repellents/ Odomass/ Kachuachhap etc. in home whichever available or you can afford. Must: Always have one anti-mosquito spray in house including kitchen/ bedroom in the starting of rainy season. Must: There should not be any water collection in house/ nearby house including water cooler/ bottles/ buckets/ holes etc. **All the best** "Aware at least 10 of your friends too about it, it is a divine job."

Hello, May I know the difference between masturbating and having sex with partner? Which one is harmful and why?

PG Diploma in Emergency Medicine Services (PGDEMS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD - Alternate Medicine
Ayurveda, Ghaziabad
Hello,
May I know the difference between masturbating and having sex with partner?
Which one is harmful and why?
1. Masturbation is a natural habit in both the genders during their life time. Continuous masturbation in men will certainly leads to unwanted curvature of penis and in women clitoris looses its sensitivity due to rough use of their fingers on clitoris. 2. Later they may not get normal pleasure or orgasm in intercourse (thrust of penis) after their marriage. 3. Masturbation once a week is fine but do not make it your habit.

Will eating dates on regular basis not increase blood sugar level in diabetic patients?
lybrate-user, Yes eating dates repeatedly in substantial number will definitely increase blood glucose level. So one can consume just 2 or 3 dates a day, that too when blood glucose is well in check. Thanks.

I have abnormal bowel movements.(I go to toilet more than 4 times) And I feel hot inside. Now it's winter time. And I feel I'm about to get fever. I don't know how to say. There's like an increase in your body temp from inside. Mild headache. Please suggest something for that.

DHMS (Diploma In Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

Looks like you have Irritable Bowels. Heat and burning internally could be coz of mild colitis. I hope there is no mucous or blood in stool. You can discuss the details by opting for a telephonic consultation. As of now you buy Homoeopathic medicine Merc cor 30 and start taking it 3 times a day. Also buy Holarrhena antidysentrica 1x and take 2 pills three times a day.

Please elaborate on adult vaccination for chicken pox, is it safe for a breastfeeding mother as I want to get it done. Also where can I get it done in Gurgaon.

MBBS, FELLOWSHIP IN PAEDIATRICS
Pediatrician, Ghaziabad
Please elaborate on adult vaccination for chicken pox, is it safe for a breastfeeding mother as I want to get it done...
The varicella vaccine is given in two doses. A child should have the first shot at ages 12-18 months. The second shot should be given at ages 4-6 years. Older children and adults should have two shots, with four to eight weeks between the first and second shot. The side effects associated with the varicella vaccine are generally mild. The most common are pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site. A small percentage of people develop a mild rash, usually around the spot where the shot was given. Severe side effects are very rare. People who should not get the shot include: Pregnant women, because the vaccine's effect on the fetus is not known Anyone allergic to gelatin; a gelatin-free version of the varicella vaccine is available. Anyone allergic to neomycin Anyone with an immune system disease Anyone receiving high doses of steroids Anyone being treated for cancer with X-rays, drugs, or chemotherapy Anyone who had a transfusion or received blood products within five months prior to the shot.
