Deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Treatment for hypothyroidism is giving thyroxine tablets. And dose are according to level of thyroid for life time. Avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. 1. Night fall is common in adolescent age group and young adults. It is due to involuntary ejaculation during sleep in night/early morning. 2. Night fall in moderation relieves sexual tension. 3. Excessive fall can cause weakness, fatigue, sexual problem like erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, testicular pain, decrease sperm count.

Mr Ankur, Thanks for the query. Good control is considered when FBG is <100 mg, PP is 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. (which is not mentioned). Your levels are still high. To bring down to desired values, you will have to give careful look at your diet and exercise. Bread (bakery items ) should be totally avoided. You may have to increase the intake of green leafy vegetables and salads. Plus take exact amount of calories based on your weight and physical activity. Thanks.

Hi, I appreciate seeking help for your mother. Possibly an adrenal insufficiency and its associated symptoms, similar to the ones described in your question above, needs to be ruled out in your mother's case. Although steroids may not be the real cause that could have precipitated a sinus tachycardia, its good to have discontinued steroids for the time being. Its advisable that she be monitored closely now, and the case clinically examined by both an experienced endocrinologist, as well as a gastro-enterologist for further medical traction as deems appropriate. As regards her ulcerative colitis, try streamline her diet which should mostly comprise of softly cooked or steamed vegetables with less of oil, ghee, spices et al. The more bland the diet is, easily digestible will it be and the better it will be for your health/ recovery. Also, do consume well ripened fruits especially papaya & banana. Buttermilk and coconut water too are immensely valuable in this condition. Please note that banana and coconut water as advised above, be best avoided if her potassium levels are already high. Take plenty of water daily, and ensure that you get enough of bed rest, avoiding stress/ strain/ anxieties. Also, take care not to strain while passing stools. A light abdominal massage on a regular basis also helps. Hope this helps her. Do take care and all the very best.

Consult ENT surgeon urgently. Ear wax can be cleaned in any health center or clinic by simple syringing and suction method. During this method only saline water is used. No chemical is needed gor this procedure. After syringing, most patient feels tinnitus (ringing like sensation in ear) or loud noise in ear. So, lubricants and wax dissolver for ear is given, which is mostly composed of liquid paraffin, sodium bicarbonate and glycerin. No side effects related with these mild chemicals are known to me. If a chemical which treats many have been used effectively, than there is no reason to avoid such medicines. Moreover, natural ways to clear wax is never recommended, because you may end up in perforating your tympanic membrane or infection or any other complication. Yes cough can be treated with homemade preparations. Take Honey (1tsf) with Tulsi leaves (2-3pc) and labanga (1pc) thrice daily. You should take Green tea with Ginger combination liquor tea twice daily. You can also take juice of vasaka leaves (1-2 tsf), if found there. This juice is bitter in taste but best of all homemade preparations for cough. Hope you found some solution from my opinion. These methods are quite laborious. Take care. May God bless you.

How To Eat Healthy and Stay Fit During Ramdaan!

Ramadan is a much-awaited month for various reasons. While some look forward to it for spiritual reasons, others look for the celebrations, and some others for the delicacies it brings along. Fasting for a full day is always followed by feasting, in most households. Some people begin shopping for stuff about a week or two before the starting date of Ramadan.

While it is definitely a time to feast, it is also important to eat healthy and not binge. The idea is to cleanse the mind and body of all sins, and so it is a good time to get back to better physical shape. Keep the following points in mind when planning the foods for this month-

  1. Ramadan is a time for cleansing, both physically and mentally, so there is no reason for fasting every single day.
  2. Because you fast through the day, it is not necessary to eat excessively over the time when it is possible. The body’s requirements do not change significantly, as there are always food reserves in the body
  3. Oily and greasy foods may be chosen with the belief that they can help you sustain without food for a longer time; this is not true. Oily and greasy foods, in fact, take a longer time to digest and also increase tiredness and fatigue. They are rich in fat, and so more fat reserves are accumulated.
  4. It is not necessary to spend long hours in the kitchen trying to cook up lavish meals, as the purpose of Ramadan is not just. It is more about self-contemplation and cleansing oneself.
  5. Eat foods which are easy to digest and also help in giving you energy. An added advantage would be to eat foods which have a cleansing or detox effect.
  6. Natural fruits and vegetables, dry fruits, grilled meat are good options.
  7. Also, take into account the regular work schedule and make sure your cooking and eating allows sufficient room for that.
  8. Sleep is another aspect which often gets ignored but is equally important. The body needs sleep as much as, or in some people, more than food. Lack of it can lead to fatigue, drowsiness, confusion, and fainting.
  9. Prophet himself has advised that only a few mouthfuls of food needs to be consumed.
  10. Fasting is a good way to give the body a break (digestive and other systems) and help natural detoxification.
  11. Do not skip exercise completely during this period. Stick to regular, light exercises which are comfortable.
  12. Many people tend to put on weight, but a little planning can help not just in avoiding this, but in reducing weight too. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.

Simple sugar is also known as monosaccharide, is the basic unit of carbohydrates. The simplest forms of sugar are usually colourless and crystalline and exist in forms of glucose, fructose and galactose. Simple sugar is deemed to be a major concern according to all health nutritionists.

Here are five reasons why you should avoid them:

  1. Sugar is the biggest cause of obesity: Sugar present in all kinds of junk food is considered to be the biggest cause of obesity as fructose easily converts into fat inside your body. Consuming too much sugar can put too much pressure on your liver as it is responsible for converting fructose into fat. Large amounts of sugar are directly converted into fat, thus, putting you at a very high risk of becoming obese.
  2. Increases risks of contracting heart diseases: Consuming too much sugar throughout the day causes a hike in your insulin levels which can further affect your nervous system. An excess of sugar in your blood stream also causes your blood pressure to rise which makes you more likely to get a heart stroke. Sugar can make you age faster: The sugar content in your body creates molecules known as AGEs (Advanced glycation end products) which attack the fibres in elastin and collagen (the building blocks of the cells on your skin). A study also proved that consuming too much sugar can result in acne as the collagen in your skin weakens. Thus, to maintain youthful looking skin for longer, you should remove sugar from your diet completely.
  5. Sugar can be addictive: Most people who consume too much sugar get addicted to it. According to a study, the addiction to sugar is very similar to addiction to tobacco and drugs. Eat green veg. More fiber foods. Avoid fatty foods,junk foos,oily meal, drink plenty of water.take digestive meal . Syp. Aristozyme 10 ml thrice a day. Take tab. Charcol at night. Syp . Livoluk 10 ml at night. tests for constipation.. stool c/s, Examination of the rectum and lower, or sigmoid, colon (sigmoidoscopy) Examination of the rectum and entire colon (colonoscopy). An X-ray of the rectum during defecation (defecography). Avoid smoking/alcohol if you take.
