Hello if there was no sex after 4th march, there is no chance of pregnancy at all. If she is worried, she can take some hormonal pills available in drug stores for 3 days and wait for the period to come within a week after stopping the medicine.

Online Dating - Is It Good or Bad For You?

Online Dating - Is It Good or Bad For You?

Technology affects every aspect of our lives including how we date. Today, the first interaction a couple has isn’t over a cup of coffee, but through the internet. While some people swear by online dating others are still vary of it. Like a coin, online dating has two sides; pros and cons. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of online dating.

Pros

  1. Easier way of meeting people: If you’re new to the city, online dating can be a great way of introducing yourself to new people. Even if you don’t find a relationship, you might end up with a number of new friends. Online dating can help you meet new people even if you’ve lived in the same city all your life. It broadens your search and introduces you to people outside your friend circle. You might even meet someone who can help you network better professionally.
  2. Convenient: Careers can be very demanding and leave a person almost no time to socialise. Online dating helps people who have no time to socialise in person, meet people virtually. Today, most online dating websites and apps have filters through which you screen people. hence unlike when a friend sets you up on a blind date, you already know something about the other person and have something in common with them. Online dating also makes optimal use of time; taking a ten-minute break between work - you can easily scan through dating profiles and find someone you’d like to meet.

Cons

  1. Dishonest profiles: Unfortunately, the internet makes it easy to lie and pretend to be someone you are not. While small white lies like pretending to like outdoor activities when you don’t really care for them are okay, some people may put up profiles that are nothing like their actual personalities. This can make online dating slightly unsafe and hence whenever you meet someone from our online dating world, it is best to do so in a place where there will be other people as well.
  2. Different understanding of relationships: Not everyone who makes a dating profile is interested in a long term relationship. For some people, this may just be a way of meeting people to have a fling with or to simply make new friends. Online dating makes it difficult to understand a person’s true personality and hence you may not realise that you and the other person have a different opinion about relationships until quite late. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

Why girls can not have sex during periods. I there any problem. Is this affect on body?
Girls usually do not prefer sex while mensturating. It's not completely prohibited but if your partner is not preferring sex in that period, why force? till the time the girl doesn't have any problem there is nothing to worry about. It doesn't affect the body.

How Body Dysmorphic Disorder Can Be Treated?

Psychologist, Mumbai
How Body Dysmorphic Disorder Can Be Treated?

Body dysmorphic disorder is a type of psychiatric disorder. It is when you cannot think about one or more defects or flaws in your appearance. These flaws are usually very minor and sometimes even unnoticeable. This is actually a much more serious disorder than many other people may think. This is because people with body dysmorphic disease may avoid many situations and also suffer from severe anxiety or shame. Here is everything you need to know about body dysmorphic disease.

Causes
Just like other psychiatric disorders, there is no known cause of body dysmorphic disease. However, there are a lot of factors, which increases your risk of developing it which include:

  1. Brain disorders: Many people with abnormal brain chemistry disorders suffer from body dysmorphic disease.
  2. Genes: People whose blood relatives have this disease or have obsessive compulsive disorder are more likely to develop this disorder as well.
  3. Environment: Cultural and social influences are a major cause of body dysmorphic disorder as well.

Symptoms
There are, however a lot of symptoms of body dysmorphic disorder, most of which are psychological in nature. They include:

  1. Having a preoccupation with a flaw in the body, which is very minor or perhaps even unnoticeable.
  2. Beliefs that people are mocking you in relation to your flaw.
  3. Being a perfectionist

It is also worth noting that this obsession can affect any part of the body and can also include several parts of the body or different parts of the body at different times. Here are the possible treatments of body dysmorphic disorder.

Treatments
There are a variety of treatments, which a patient can opt for and a variety of methods of curing the problem. Here are the most common.

  1. Cognitive behavioral therapy: This is when a therapist tries to stop you from thinking about the flaw that you have been focusing on way too much.
  2. SSRI: SSRI stands for Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors. They are given in cases, where body dysmorphic disorder is caused by problems related to the brain chemical serotonin.
  3. Hospitalization: This is a severe measure, but may need to be taken if you are in danger of harming somebody or you cannot perform daily activities.

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography - Understanding The Procedure!

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography - Understanding The Procedure!

Sometimes, when it comes to problems in the abdominal area, an ultrasound is not clear enough for a diagnosis. In such cases, an Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) may be performed. This procedure gives the doctor a clear view of the duodenum, bile duct, pancreatic ducts, gallbladder and papilla of Vater.

This procedure is usually performed under intravenous sedation without general anesthesia. This procedure involves the use of a duodenoscope, which can be described as a thin, long, flexible tube with a camera at one end. It also has a fiber optic bundle that transmits lights to the camera and a chip to transmit video images to a TV screen.

This is inserted through the patient’s mouth and sent down the throat through the food pipe to the stomach and duodenum while the patient is lying on his or her back. The air pipe is left undisturbed so as to not interfere with the patient’s breathing. Since the patient is not under general anesthesia, he or she can move and turn according to the doctor’s needs. The papilla of Vater is a small nipple like structure with an opening to the bile duct and pancreatic duct.

Once this has been identified, a small plastic catheter is passed through the duodenoscope into the bile duct or pancreatic duct through the papilla. Dye is then injected into the area and X-rays are taken of the bile ducts and pancreatic duct. In cases where a biopsy is needed, other instruments can also be passed through the endoscope. Plastic or metal stents can also be passed through this to relieve obstructions in the bile ducts and pancreatic ducts.

ERCP can be used to diagnose and treat a number of conditions in the liver, bile ducts, gall bladder, pancreas and papilla of Vater. These include:

  • Blockage of the bile duct by gallstones, cancer, scars, tumors or compression from adjacent organs.
  • Jaundice due to an obstructed bile duct. This can also cause light stools and dark urine.
  • Persistent upper abdominal pain
  • Unexplained weight loss and loss of appetite
  • Diagnosing a Dysfunctioning Sphincter of Oddi within the Papilla of Vater

ERCP can also be used to confirm pancreatic cancer and cancer of the bile duct. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, the doctors can customize treatment according to the patient’s needs.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

During periods, is breast tenderness normal? or should I need to consult with gyneochologist?

During periods, is breast tenderness normal? or should I need to consult with gyneochologist?
You can have breast tenderness in the week leading to periods. It should subside once periods starts ; is bilateral and cyclical. Should not be associated with any lump or discharge. You can still see a gynaecologist if it is bothering you as there are medicines available that might provide relief.
