Am developing my wisdom teeth and I can not bear the pains what can I do to reduce it.

MDS Prosthodontics
Dentist, Delhi
If the pain is persisting then I recommend you to visit a dentist. Probably you may have to get tooth removed or the gum around the tooth be excised.

Hi doctor. One year back i have clip on my teeth. Its removed one year back. Now my teeth have little bit gaps n my teeth is little bit loose.Tel me any advice to solve this problem .

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Hyderabad
I agree with Dr. Darshan. I want to add on it I think you might have developed periodontitis (infection of gums and jaw bone). Xray will reveal the exact problem. And don't delay it by using various toothpastes available in the market

I have a problem with my teeth, they feel less stronger, gums pain and there is a sensitivity. Please suggest.

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist, Jamshedpur
Hi you have gum disease known as gingivitis with plaque deposition. You need to go for cleaning and scaling. Once your plaque will be removed gums inflammation will subside. And teeth will be strong again.

My teeth has been itching since someday and I don't know what to do because its paining more as I expect so pls do me a favour sir pls.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hi the causes of itchy gums are: 1. Mild inflammation of gums 2. Accumulation of debris on teeth 3. Teeth pushing through gums the best home-remedy is to massage the gums with a mix of mustard oil and salt twice daily for 1 or 2 days. It will sooth the gums. Hope that helps.

I am getting cavity (teeth black hole or sadaan) in my teeth. I don't want to get root canal. I think it will take much time to get cured. What should I do it is getting much pain in it which unbearable today please help?

BDS
Dentist, Kharagpur
If it is unbearable pain and you want to secure your tooth then rct is only one option. Otherwise go for extraction. Now a days modern techniques of rct are available. So curing is too much fast.

The bleaching property present in lemons can help get rid of yellow discoloration. In fact, gargling with lemon juice and scrubbing your teeth with lemon peel is one of the best ways to make your teeth white again.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. My wisdom tooth is growing out and causing a lot of pain and swelling to my cheek what can I use to stop the pain?

BDS
Dentist, Lucknow
Its better to get it removed as swelling is due to infection caused by the tooth and you will not prefer to have infected tooth in your mouth.

If your teeth is black in color then it could be due to deep cavity, you may need root canal treatment.

Can dental problems cause pain in temples? I have somewhat sharp ache in my right temple a little above temple exactly a few inches above my ear and I am having some dental problems for some time like cavities feelings some sensitivity and sometimes throbbing pain too. So can they be related. Dental problems and temple pain in any way?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I have first problem is that my stomach is paining & other problem is my teeth are bleeding so I want reason.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals. Carbohydrates and sugars feed dental plaque. - try an oral irrigation device, commonly known as a" water pick, to clear debris from around the gum line. - have your dentures aligned as needed. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person.

The Working Woman's Guide to the Perfect Smile!

The Working Woman's Guide to the Perfect Smile!

Here are habits to implement today to maintain that perfect smile for you and your family tomorrow

As women at work or at home, we are responsible for the health of those around us. If you are a compassionate and caring mother, daughter, sister or wife looking after the dental health of your family becomes imperative to their well being.

Here are some useful habits that can go a long way in keeping you and your family smiling for years.

#1 go soft automatic

Rev up your brushing-use an automated tooth brush. This maybe true for not only you as a woman but for your family. Make sure you switch them to an automatic or motorized brush with soft or extra soft bristles. This works best since it takes the guesswork out of brushing and improves your and your children's technique even if they're sleepy in the morning.

#2 dental emergency kit

Keeping a dental emergency kit loaded with some essentials like a basic dental painkiller (as prescribed), clove oil, some dental floss and a toothpick (not a habit recommended by us but when things get lodged and cause pain it maybe the last resort)

#3 vitamin check

Best way of ensuring good tooth and bone health is to ensure good levels of vitamins vitamin d3, calcium especially if you're beating menopause and even iron, b complex to prevent anaemias which can be detected orally. Deficiencies of vitamins and essential minerals can make your family more susceptible to oral health problems.

#4 gift a smile

Gift your dependents a great smile be it preventive treatments for your young ones like our decay protection programme which ensures they never have to feel dental pain like we have, or the braces intervention campaign which helps guide teeth to proper positions at an early age. More questions about your young ones dental health

For the elderly who missed out on a lot of preventive dental work can now enjoy the benefits of latest technology giving them fixed teeth instead of removable dentures.

#5 start a trend-family oral health checkup

Mark a day in your calendar a public holiday or the beginning of the year a time that you can easily remember and as a family get an annual checkup to not only ensure that you do not suffer from any dental problems but also early detection of any upcoming medical issues can be done.

Sir if we clean the tooth in hospital it will become loose why because sir right or wrong sir this sentence.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
All individuals requires scaling (cleaning) to be done atleast once in 6 months to maintain our oral hygiene clean. Our toothbrush is not much finely designed to clean all the plaque and calculi in the interdental areas of the teeth, which is the area where most of the calculus accumulate much and has to be removed regularly using scalers by the dentist. For some patients tooth will will appear to be firm only because of the calculus holding it, not the bone. In such cases after removing those calculus by scaling results in loosening of the tooth, but scaling is actually good since it removes the calculus and maintains your oral hygiene safe.
