I am 25 years old male and I am suffering from backache from last 3 weeks. please tell me what should I do?
Back ache can be due to several reasons. It can be muscular, related to disc degeneration or prolapse, joint irritation or nerve pinching. Most common is muscle pain due to tight and weak back and abdominal muscles. Keep a positive attitude, focus more on keeping good posture especially when sitting for long hours, use lumbar support. Take frequent breaks and stretch in between. Try changing sleeping habits. Stretching and strengthening exercises for low back and abdominal muscles will help reduce pain. Try hot or cold therapy as tolerated. If pain persists consult a physiotherapist specialized in back pain treatment. Good luck for quick recovery.

Hello Madam, If your mother have full body joint pain consult orthopaedic physician first then consult physiotherapist. Or only knee pain, consult physiotherapist directly. Following few steps prevent further damage and reduce pain: Apply hot water fermentation or moist heat fermentation 3-4 times daily. Avoid floor sitting. Avoid long time standing, walking. Do the basic breathing exercises regularly. If your mother has a physical stress try to reduce.

Hello, you need to be examined properly by an ortho-surgeon. Till, then you may continue with the homoeo med (size of pill-40)** @ hypericum 1000-6 pills, wkly @ macrot 200- 6 pills, twice a day. @ rhus tox200-6 pills, thrice a day. Report your progress, fortnightly take care.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am a 18 years male. I had backache so I consulted a physiotherapist and did an X ray. My spine turned out to be a little bent and he found that bent to be the reason of pain. He advised exercises under his supervision for 15-20 days. I am a bit confused now, should I consult someone from the orthopedic department? Or I shall go on with the physiotherapist? I am afraid, If I consulted a orthopaedic he will ask for a surgery or something. Please suggest what shall I do.

if you want avoid surgery go with Ayurvedic treatment . 1) Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min., afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) Start natural calcium supplement. 3) Do regular stretching exercise 4) In yoga DO BHUJANGASAN, HALASAN & SURYANAMASKAR.

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
