X-ray must and a check up of vit d and calcium levels. Sit straight and improve your posture. Avoid long sitting toward bending and long standing and lifting heavyweight. Tk physiotherapy treatment for few days and after relief start strength exercise of spine best option for you.

It might take anywhere from a month to 3 months depending upon the severity of your pain and the area of your pain. If your pain is radiating to leg it might take more time of its only in the back. Do exercises daily to see best results.

You need to take care of your posture as you said you have to sit for long hours. Sit erect and den work and you should stretch your back after every half an hour or 1 hour. Also do some yoga exercises especially for back like snake asann.

I have disc bulges at C4-C5 and C5-C6 levels. I have severe pain in my left mid arm between shoulder and knee. It is very painful to hold something with my hand. I saw a neurologist, he gave me medicines but they hadn't helped me. I want to know what could be the Problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi Disc bulges indicate some herniation impinging nerves causing radiating pains. Use of cervical collar, isometric neck exercises, anti inflammatory drugs, and if your doctor agrees, cervical traction may be needed. If this doesn't help them surgery may be advised for disc removal, fusion of spine at these cervical levels best wishes.

Do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretchingstretch.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I have a severe lower back pain since last night. The pain is there only when I stand. I have no issues moving while lying down. But as soon as I stand there is a shooting pain in the lower back. Posture correction must. Avoid long sitting toward bending lifting weight. Do hot fermentation and stretching exercise if it work then ok otherwise physiotherapy must.

Dear you are suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee joints. You will have to reduce your weight drastically by what ever means (consult a dietician). You must change your life style. Use a commode and avoid stairs. Learn exercises from a physiotherapist and spare time for doing them as you spare time for bathing, pooja or eating. They are simple and can be done any where. Even in office and while waiting for bus or metro. Do hot fomentation and apply a pain killer gel and support your knees with 6" crepe bandages 2 for each knee. Take a sachet of collaflex for about 3 months and a pain killer sos. If of no avail. Consult an ortho. Surgeon and get investigated and x-rayed. Take care.

If you have leg pain pls check your body weight and your haemoglobin levels, as Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Neck pain is due to the improper posture as while sitting in front of the computer and it leads to neck pain and thereby it leads to shoulder pain. We suggest neck mobilization exercises that would reduce the stress falling on the shoulder. We also suggest patients to do shoulder mobilization exercises ie. general shoulder movements/neck movements which will help you to improve the blood circulation. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired that can also be reason to have frequent pain in the leg once the oxygen levels in the blood comes down it automatically leads to improper functioning of the joints and muscles and that also might make the hip muscles to become tired thereby straining mildly might lead to waist / hip pain

Hello lybrate user, get her x-ray of the knee joint in standing weight bearing position in anteroposterior and lateral projections. Mostly it is has osteoarthritis of the knee joint wherein the articular cartilage of the joint gets progressively degenerative. Common in old age and indian population use knee caps regular exercise hot water bag some natural medicines x-ray and her level of discomfort will dictate the management plan. God bless you.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
