DNB, MD - Dermatology, MBBS

How can I get a face without pimples? My face is full of pimples, I tried many medicine. What can I do?
- do not scratch or squeeze the lesions - do not apply creams or oils on face - do not apply hair oils or wash oil within 1 hour of application - take plenty of fluids - wash your face 2-3 times daily especially when it's oily - certain foods can increase acne such as chocolates, oily food etc, avoid these if they increase acne - take plenty of fluids and fruits - dandruff can also increase acne, so use anti-dandruff shampoo if you have acne. - also, for the marks, try to avoid sunexposure as far as possible (use broadspectrum gel based sunscreen, cover the face while outside during sunlight hours)

Hi lybrate-user focus on your diet: you really need to focus on your diet. When losing weight, many people feel that it is okay to eat what you want and then workout a lot. This is completely incorrect. The secret behind getting fit lies 80 percent in your diet, while the rest 20 percent lies in working out. This is an integral part in losing weight at home and being able to sustain it. Some of the famous weight loss foods. Green tea soya cinnamon multi grains wheat bran wheat grass lemon grass flaxseed pumpkin seeds sunflower seeds leeks lettuce broccoli olive oil quinoa aloe vera. Combine your diet with good physical activity. As you exercise, calories are burned and your body fat percentage decreases. So, exercising not only helps you lose belly fat, it also sheds fat from other areas. Running and walking are two of the best fat-burning exercises. Plus, the only equipment you need is a good pair of shoes. Between the two, running burns more calories, but walking really isn't too far behind. Take personalised expert dietary advice. Thanku.

1.Apple cider vinegar has the antibacterial as well as antifungal properties . Apple cider vinegar is very powerful though, so you might want to dilute it when you use it, at least at first. Just apply a small amount to your skin, but make sure that you choose pure, undiluted vinegar for best results. 2.Baking soda is a great option for clearing up blemishes, it’s cheap, it’s natural, and it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals or other ingredients. The benefits of baking soda are many: it exfoliates, it reduces inflammation, and it clears up skin. All you have to do is use warm water and baking soda to make a paste. Then, apply the paste to your skin like a mask. Leave it on for up to an hour, and then rinse. You will be amazed at the results. Hi lybrate-user, the weight gain is quite due to your sedentary lifestyle. Try to burn maximum calories throughout the day by indulging in any kind of physical activity you like e. G. Brisk walking, cycling, dancing etc. For at least 30 minutes a day. The most important thing to remember is to be regular and consistent. Experts say'sitting is the new smoking' so please get up from your seat/desk as often as possible e. G. May be to fill up a water bottle, go to your colleague's desk to discuss office issues instead of sending an email, do not use lift/escalators wherever possible, go for 10-15 minutes light walk pre- lunch etc. Eating healthy and small meals every 3-4 hours is equally important to boost the metabolism. Avoid processed foods and stick to healthy homemade meals. You can consult me for a detailed diet plan and exercise regimen. Good luck!

I want to loos some weight and I have to mich fat on my tummy suggest me how to reduce my weight.
For weight loss eat within the first hour of rising eat 4 main balanced meals a day and a small snack every 2 hours in between these (click here) exercise after a small light snack eat main meals after the workout hydrate yourself well, 1 glass of water every hour keep daily oil consumption to 10% of total calorie intake, i. E. On an average 3-4tsp a day all oils ate 100% fat, having the same calories. Even olive oil avoid refined sugar in beverages like tea, coffee, lassi, fresh lime. This is addition of empty calories on a daily basis stay away from artificial sweetner too. They are" artificial" thus the lesser the better. Say no fruits juices, smoothies or milkshakes eat the fruits instead healthy eating is a lifestyle, not a" diet" imbibe it.

Common Asthma Myths.

Asthma is a potentially dangerous disease, and according to WHO estimates, 235 million people around the world suffer from it. It is also the most common chronic health condition among children.

In the event of an asthma attack, the airways of the lungs become inflamed, and the condition is triggered by allergens such as mould, dust, pollen, and pet dander. The symptoms include frequent coughing, shortness of breath and wheezing, fatigue, and other changes in lung function. Anything that triggers allergies can also lead to asthma symptoms.

Because of the severity of this disease, it's important to get the facts right, so as to avoid mishaps and interference in proper treatment. On World Asthma Day, we set record straight on this condition, its causes, symptoms, and treatment.

Myth: People with asthma shouldn't exercise.
If the asthma is under control, there is absolutely no reason why people with the condition can't be physically active. It is important for both adults and children to stay active and healthy to prevent obesity. Obesity is an asthma trigger that can make symptoms worse.

Myth: Asthma can be cured.
Not true. Asthma is treatable, but despite great progress in the field of medicine, we still don't have a cure for this condition. Some people believe that alternative medicine such as homeopathy or Ayurveda have the potential to cure asthma, but this is simply not true. Only a timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment can help people with asthma lead normal, active lives.

Myth: Inhaled steroids are harmful and addictive.
A lot of people confuse inhaled steroids with anabolic steroids that are used in sports and fitness. Inhaled steroids are asthma preventer medications, and currently, these medications are the only way to keep severe asthma under control. They are effective and non-addictive.

Myth: Children outgrow asthma.
It is a misconception that children who have asthma outgrow it by the time they hit puberty. The disease does go into remission in some kids around puberty, but this is not because the asthma has been cured. Most often, the symptoms strike again, and sometimes the asthma returns when young adults start consuming alcohol.

Myth: Smoking does not affect asthma.
False! Smoking is a major asthma trigger, which is why people with asthma have an even stronger reason than most to quit this harmful habit. Second-hand smoking by a parent also triggers asthma symptoms or worsens them in kids. Many people with asthma find when they quit smoking they experience significantly fewer symptoms and less frequent asthma attacks.

Myth: Moving to a dry climate can cure asthma.
It's true that a change in environment may temporarily put off asthma symptoms, but it's not possible that this will cure the disease. Many people find that their symptoms reduce when they're at the countryside or the coast. Eventually, allergens will trigger the symptoms again.

To reduce asthma triggers at home, make sure your house is dust-free. Clean your fans and AC units often. Avoid carpeting and other furnishings that trap dust and mould. Keeps your windows closed during pollen season. If humid climate is a trigger for you, use a dehumidifier in your home.

Myth: It's normal to use your inhaler at least once a day.
Not true! If you are regularly your inhaler to treat asthma symptoms more than twice a week, then it is obvious that your condition is not under control. It's important that you see your doctor and talk about what's going on.
