How to Improve Your Posture?
Simple ways to improve posture and reduce risk of chronic back aches

1. Keep tummy muscles tight but don't hold your breath.
2. Keep the shoulders back and down. Avoid rounding shoulders forward and slouching especially when sitting for prolong periods using laptops or computers.
3. Try to stretch every 30 minutes by backward bending back for 30 seconds in standing or sitting.
4. Seek help from a friend or family member who can reinforce your habit and remind when you go to the poor posture mode.
5. Learn specific exercise to strengthen back and abdominal muscles and above all stay active and fit!

Dear lybrate-user, start taking black til (seasam) with a glass of lukewarm milk early morning. Avoid pickles, spices, oily, greesy food items, too much of salt in food shud be avoided. Start avle ka murabba daily. Also have a high protien rich diet e. G. Pulses, dry fruits, black gram, ground nut etc, white of egg (if you eat egg). Also oil your hair with good herbal oil and wash with herbal shamppoo - avoid shampoos with high acid contents. As far as ayurveda's therapy is concerned - start with shirodhara with herbal oil and nasyam therapy for atleast 15 days. This will greatly help. Do gentle massage with herbal hair oil daily night for 15 minutes. Please update with your valuable feedback.

How to reduce joint pain in knee. Wat type of food is helpful in reducing the joint pain.

BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Delhi
Hello lybrate-user, knee pain occur after 30-35 are due to degenerative changes in bone. It may be due to osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. So consult a physio and learn some strengthening exercise and start doing it guided by them. From xray images and symptoms of patient we can come into conclusion either it is due to osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. So in both the condition knee strengthening exercise plays important role. There are also ultrasound, ift, swd modality available in physio setup to get you releive from pain. So it would be better if you visit a nearby physio and start doing exercise guided by them. There isn't particular food to avoid for knee pain, but if you are overweight then you have to take care of your diet. Because as much your weight increases all weight will transfer to knee so it is better to keep maintain your weight. It is better to take calcium rich food such as milk, paneer, curd etc.

Try rest x 2 weeks and then physiotherapy x 4weeks. Grade 2 signal does not mean a complete tear. Partial/low grade injuries can heal.

5 Only Exercises For Easy Relief From Knee Pain

BPTh/BPT
Podiatrist, Mumbai
5 Only Exercises For Easy Relief From Knee Pain
Simple exercises for relief from knee pain

A lot of people suffer from knee pain, some hereditary, some due to injuries and some due to other reasons. Whatever be the reasons, the pain is very bothersome.

Try the following exercises regularly to get relief from knee pain.

1. Leg lifts - sit straight on a chair with your feet firmly on the ground. Lift the leg for which the knee pains, until it is parallel to the ground. Hold for a couple of seconds and bring back to the initial position. Do 10 reps every day.

2. Knee bending - sit on a chair and keep a stool of same height as the chair in front of you. Place your knee on the stool, knee slightly bent. Slowly, straighten your leg and hold in the straight position for a couple of seconds before you release. Do 10 reps.

3. Leg straightening - stand straight and place the foot on a low platform. Bend down, place both your palms on the knee and slowly push it down until your leg is straight. Push only as far as it doesn't hurt too much. Hold for a few seconds and release.

4. Stretching - sit upright. Bring your leg towards your chest by bending the knee and keeping your hand above the ankle. Push your heel towards your buttocks. Release after a couple of seconds.

5. Chair pulling - stand straight near a door keeping your feet apart (shoulder-width), in front of a chair. Hold the knob of the door and slowly, sit back on the chair. Feel the pull in the muscles and go back to previous position after 2-3 seconds. Repeat.

I am suffering from heel pain, tried different types of treatment but not helpful.

BHMS
Homeopath, Chennai
Pain in the heel not only restricts movement, but the general discomfort on walking or standing also disturbs the whole persona of a person. The pain can be attributed to a medical condition known as Calcaneal Spur. It refers to a sharp, pointed, horny outgrowth on the calcaneal bone present in the heel. The outgrowth is the build-up of calcium deposit on the heel bone. The reason behind Calcaneal Spur formation is repeated stress on the heels. When the heels are exposed to repeated stress, it leads to damage of muscle, ligaments and fascia that cover the heel bone. As a result, the heels are exposed and become prone to trauma and formation of Calcaneal Spur. People who are obese and athletes are prone to develop Calcaneal Spurs. Wearing of high heels and ill-fitting shoes also spurs the formation of calcium deposits on the heel bone. The main symptom of Calcaneal Spur is pain in heel around the spur. The pain gets worse when a person steps on ground after a period of inactivity especially in morning following a long rest. The pain increases while walking, running and standing. The character of pain may be described as sharp pain, dull pain or pain as from pin-pricking. Homeopathic medicines offer a very safe and complete treatment of Calcaneal Spur. The Homeopathic medicines for calcaneal spur are made of natural substances and have no side effects. You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance
