Having an ulcer for 2 weeks is a long time. Get it checked by a dentist preferably a MDS in oral medicine and radiology. Meanwhile you can apply dologel/ultigel/mucopain and maintain your oral hygiene.

Hello lybrate-user. Do you have any blurring of vision or any visual complains? at times, reduction of vision may have a cause that is located elsewhere than the eye. To enumerate in brief: (1) the cause could be present on the area posterior (behind) to the eye along the course of the nerve (optic nerve) that carries visual signals from the eye to the brain. (2) likewise, the cause could be located in the brain itself. Hence, if you have undergone a thorough eye checkup including retina evaluation and no cause has been determined for your problem, it could be any of the causes listed beforehand. Has your eye specialist recommended you to undergo a ct scan/ mri imaging study of the brain and orbits? have you been advised to take a consultation by a neuro-physician/ surgeon? it would be a good idea to consider the points enumerated and then seek further guidance. Hello, Thanks for your query. Try an over-the-counter medicine containing simethicone, which helps to break down gas bubbles. You can try a process of elimination by substituting a gassy food for a non-gassy one, and see which one is giving you the most trouble. A few basic substitutions: • Rice milk for cow’s milk • Bananas, blueberries and melon for apples, peaches and plums • Gluten-free and spelt cereals and bread for wheat and rye products • Bamboo shoots, bok choy, carrot, celery, corn, eggplant, green beans, lettuce, chives, parsnip, pumpkin, and tomato for artichokes, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, okra, onions, and peas. Dear the condition may be chronic sinusitis which we equate to kind of pratishyaya in ayurveda. Daily usage of steam and intake of 3-4 tulsi leaves with 1tsp honey+ a pinch of pepper powder will help. Boosting his immunity with certain medicines would be better.

Hi Take ½ glass of carrot juice + Add ½ glass of spinach juice + Mix well + Drink this juice to cure headache 1-1 drop of cow ghee in both nostrils at night time before sleep. Take pranacharya no tens capsule 1_1 twice a day. Take shirshooladi vajra ras twice a day with honey. Avoid tea and coffee.

Mr. Lybrate-user, chapatis are like roti and rice, as all these foods contain starch. Starch is converted to glucose in the intestine. Hence, eating more chapatis is definitely not beneficial or advisable. Wheat flour from which chapatis are made is containing mainly starch. 100 g of whole wheat flour gives 407 calories, about 87 g of carbohydrate, 16 g of proteins and 2 g of fats. Hence, taking more wheat flour as chapatis is definitely ideal for controlling diabetes. It can be a part of the total food. As far as I know, hardly anyone will depend on chapati only for sugar control.

Hello lybrate user, arthritis is a degenerative condition which progresses with aging. It goes through different stages like mild, moderate and severe arthritis. You might be suffering from arthritis at the age of 49 because of some pre-disposing condition but it usually presents in patients greater than 55 to 60 years. You have mentioned that you have bearable pain while walking. You might be in the early stages of arthritis. This can be managed by lifestyle modifications like light exercises, weight reduction, physiotherapy for the muscles of knee to maintain the mobility and strengthen the muscles. This might decrease your pain as well. If you have persistent pain, it might respond to painkillers. Surgery is advisable to only those who have unbearable pain and who are unable to do their daily routine activities because of the advanced arthritis. The other disadvantage of surgery at an early age is the limited life span of the prosthetic knee joint. Even in ideal cases has a life span of 15 to 20 years, after which you might need to undergo revision surgeries which are complex and are associated with a high rate of complications. So considering an average of 12 years of implant survival, by the age of 70 to 75 you might need a second revision surgery. Therefore, it is best to delay surgery as much as possible unless you have complications like decreasing movement at the knee joint or development of a severe deformity because of a severe grade of arthritis or unbearable pain not responding even to the highest doses of medications. Hi here are 6 ways to gain weight healthily: 1. Eating 5 to 6 meals a day in order to gain weight, start eating 5-6 meals a day by breaking them into parts. Eating a lot at once may cause indigestion if the body fails to absorb all nutrients. Eat in small amounts, even if you are not hungry and there will be an increase in appetite from day to day. The aim should be to have a generously portioned breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as two to three snacks in between. 2. Start weight training if you build your muscles through weight training, it will convert the extra weight into lean body mass and also stimulate your appetite. The extra muscle increases the rate of metabolism. When you start exercising you will often experience extreme muscle soreness but it goes away in 3-5 days. 3. Load up on protein besides weight training, a protein-rich diet can help you gain mass. Eating a meal heavy in protein shortly after finishing exercise can be highly effective in adding extra pounds to your body. However, a diet focused only on lean protein is not helpful. It is important to make sure that your diet has plenty of fat in it. Eat foods rich in protein like cheese, meat, eggs, etc to gain weight in a healthy manner. 4. Workout your entire body a lot of people focus only on training the muscles on their arms, chest and shoulders and this is a grave error. Firstly, it will give you a disproportionate body; and it will make you prone to injuries. Therefore, it's important to work out the entire body for a complete and balanced look. 5. Drink your calories to reach the calorie requirement only by eating may be tough. Drinking milk, milkshakes or protein shakes with little or no sugar can be an effective way to load up on the calorie requirements. 6. Be patient and believe in yourself gaining weight quickly in a healthy manner is unrealistic. Every body type is different and it takes months to gain weight. Living healthy by eating the right diet will increase your strength. It is also important to keep following the routine even if you don't see any gains. Caution: junk food and fried foods must be avoided; although have a tendency to add more fat to your body but are very low in vitamins and minerals which are essentially required to keep you really fit.
