Difference between fixed retainer and removable retainer? which one is best after ortho treatment?

BDS, Certified Implantologist
Dentist, Delhi
A fixed is bonded on the inner surface of your teeth. A removable one is seen from outside and is to be removed while eating. Both together work well after orthodontic treatment.

Hi, Recently I find out my lower right wisdom teeth turned into black/brownish color half of the portion but no pain at all. But it caused a pimple inside on the cheek near the wisdom teeth. I am worried so much what exactly has happened to my teeth. If I am supposed to go under surgery to remove the wisdom teeth what are the complications for my age and I used to smoke in past. I don't have any other health problems. Please suggest me something I am really stressed out.

Hi, Recently I find out my lower right wisdom teeth turned into black/brownish color half of the portion but no pain ...
Yes, you need to go for extraction of this tooth. Its all infection which spreading around the tooth and pus will come out from the pimple like structure near tooth. There is no such big complication in general. You didn't mention your age, but the complications are not necessary. If in case it occurs it varies from person to person.

Do you rinse your tooth brush thoroughly after brushing? If not, then start doing it. A dirty tooth brush may develop bacteria that will enter your mouth each time you use that tooth brush for brushing your teeth.

My question is if I use the whitening of colgate company with colgate tooth brush will I get any harm in my teeth or ...
No but if you use it for an year does make any differenence as it contains abrasive silica which has the tendency to roughned the polished surface of the teeth. Roughness -directly proportion to more plaque accumulation.

Some children develop slower than other children. They may lack in certain nutrition or it can also be heredity. I would suggest you to consult a homeopath for this, as there are proved results for such children in homeopathy. You can also start giving naturamore for kidspowder 1 spoon daily in warm milk in morning and evening for 1 month. This will definitely give you results. As the Powder is just a supplement containing proteins, vitamins, minerals and all which help you to gain weight. You will get result 110%. Just inform me if you are not getting the powder. Take care. :)

I am 19 years old and have a little cavity in 2 of my back teeth upside is there any other way of treating them besides filling and is there any way to whiten teeth.

Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal.
