I am suffering from lower back pain from last one year and I am just 18 years old. So can you suggest me what should I do?

MPT(Neurology), BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Delhi
First ascertain the cause for your back ache. Visit an orthopaedic surgeon and get the diagnosis done. It could be postural or it could a type of arthropathy that starts at young age for which some blood tests need to be done. Once a diagnosis is made then treatment could be planned accordingly.

I have back pain at intervals of time and also neck. My work makes me sit for long hours.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). Lie down on bed on your back without pillow. Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. My mother has a problem with both her knees. There is lot of pain she does not even want to walk due to that please advise what it is and what could be treatment and she is diabetic too?

MBBS, MS, DNB, FNB (SPINE SURGERY)
Orthopedist, Chennai
Most common cause of both knee pain in old age is osteoarthritis (age related wear and tear of joints). She should avoid sitting on floor or squatting. Get a physiotherapy help to reduce pain and teach relevant exercises. But, it is better to get her checked up by an orthopaedician first to rule out other possibilities.

I cannot comment right now without a physical examination but yes, if you have doubts you should immediately visit a peadriatic orthopeditrition without wasting time as a physical examination is required initially--------------

Iam 38 years female I have body pains it's not decrease and also neck pain what should I do.

BDS, MSD, Fellowship in Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders
Dentist, Bangalore
Generalised body pain and neck pain could be due to problems with muscles, or arthritis, fibromyalgia, thyroid problems and due to defeciencies like vit d and b12. Incorporate a balanced diet along with exposure to sunlight in early morning and mild exercises like walking or aerobics. Maintaing proper posture is also essential. If it persists visit a physician who may order blood tests to rule out certain conditions.
