Hi, Take Rauvolfia 1x, 2 tabs daily morning empty stomach and 1 tab in the evening. Drink plenty of liquids and cut down your fat, salt and sugar intake. go for a morning walk daily at least for 30 minute. Take a sound sleep and try to avoid anger. Home remedies to Control high BP:-1. Bananas are one fruit that people with high blood pressure can eat regularly to control it. Bananas are a rich source of potassium, which lessens the effect of sodium. So, try to eat one or two bananas daily. Along with bananas, you can try dried apricots, raisins, orange juice, spinach, baked sweet potatoes. 2. Eat one or two crushed garlic cloves daily. You can simply crush them with your hands. Crushing garlic cloves creates hydrogen sulfide, a compound that promotes good blood flow, removes gas and reduces the pressure on the heart. If you do not like eating raw garlic or if it causes a burning sensation, then take it along with a cup of milk. You can also mix five or six drops of garlic juice in four teaspoons of water and take it twice a day. **take natrum phos 6x , 5 tabs ,tds after meals for gastric problem.**

I had a problem of anal fissure from past 2 years, but blood comes in my stool only when I do Exercises or Gym or I am confused when I have bananas also blood comes in my stool.

General Surgeon, Pune
Is there burning sensation also before or after passing stool? Do you have constipation since long time time? I would advise high fiber diet with plenty of oral fluids. Green vegetables and fruit and alteast 4 lit of water. Sit in warm water with a few drops of dettol put it in it. Relax and tighten your sphincter alternately for alteast 10 times each session for 15 mins alteast thrice a day. Regards. After clinical examination from a general surgeon, you can ask about stool softer medication, pain killer and sphincter relaxing ointment etc.

Making sure you are chewing your food properly will reduce this. Do not gulp your foid. It causes gas and indigestion. Burping is from the air yu swallow. Eat slowly. Make sure food is fresh, soft, not junk, not packaged. Drink water in sips as you eat for few days. In morning. Take few drops of ginger juice, lemon juice punch of rock salt. Wash down with warm to hot water.

I am feeling little pain around my anus while passing stool. Sometimes the pain goes and sometimes its dere. I can feel a small lump there. What is the prblm. How can I cure that?

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hubli-Dharwad
Anal pain also known as proctalgia common causes:- 1.anal fissure-An anal fissure is a small tear in the skin of the anus that can be caused by passing a large or hard poo. Symptoms of an anal fissure can include: a severe, sharp pain when doing a poo a burning or gnawing pain that lasts several hours after doing a poo rectal bleeding – you may notice a small amount of blood on the toilet paper after you wipe Anal fissures can be very painful, but many heal on their own in a few weeks. Increasing the amount of fibre in your diet, drinking plenty of fluids and taking laxatives and over-the-counter painkillers can help. If the pain persists, you may need special ointment that relaxes the ring of muscle around your anus. Occasionally, surgery may be needed to help the fissure heal. 2.Haemorrhoids (piles) Haemorrhoids (piles) are swellings containing enlarged blood vessels that are found inside or around the bottom. They're often thought to be caused by straining on the toilet as a result of prolonged constipation. In many cases, haemorrhoids don't cause symptoms. When symptoms do occur, they may include: bleeding after doing a poo an itchy bottom feeling like there's a lump in or around your anus soreness and redness around your anus anal pain, if the blood supply to the haemorrhoid becomes blocked or interrupted – for example, by a blood clot The symptoms often pass after a few days. Increasing the amount of fibre in your diet, drinking plenty of fluids and taking laxatives and over-the-counter painkillers can help. If the blood supply to the haemorrhoid has been blocked by a clot, a simple procedure can be carried out to remove the clot under local anaesthetic (where the area is numbed). 3.Anal fistulas and abscesses An anal fistula is a small tunnel that develops between the end of the bowel and the skin near the anus. It's usually caused by an infection near the anus resulting in a collection of pus (an abscess). Symptoms of an anal fistula or abscess can include: a constant, throbbing pain that may be worse when you sit down skin irritation around the anus passing pus or blood when you poo swelling and redness around your anus a high temperature (fever) Your GP may prescribe antibiotics if an abscess is picked up early on. If it persists, it may need to be drained in hospital, possibly under general anaesthetic (while you're asleep). If a fistula develops, surgery will usually be needed because they rarely heal by themselves Less common causes of anal pain When to get medical advice Many common causes of anal pain will improve with simple self-care treatments, so you don't always need to see your GP. But it's a good idea to see your GP if: your pain is severe your pain doesn't improve after a few days you also experience rectal bleeding Don't feel embarrassed to see your GP – anal pain is a common problem that they're used to seeing. Your GP can try to work out what the problem is and give you treatment advice. They'll probably ask to see your bottom and may carry out a rectal examination (where they gently insert a gloved finger into your bottom) to check for any abnormalities. If the cause is not immediately obvious, they may refer you to a specialist for advice and further tests.

My father is suffering from liver cirrhosis. His liver has become fatty liver grade 4, due to heavy alcohol consumption. He has asthama also. Is there any treatment in ayurved for the same(liver cirrhosis), also to stop further scarring of liver and to restore already scarred portion?

Generally condition worsens over the passing time but we have experienced in our career that besides many well known ayd med on ayurveda for long use, you may start punarnavashtak kvath. Its not commonly available but you may search and find out. If you can please find fresh herbs and extract the juice but its difficult. However dried herbs at pansari may be found and decoction may be prepared twice daily. After some pt. Starts feeling relief and symptoms ease. This delays the worsening further. Do not expect total reversal.

What should I do.
Dear lybrate user with the limited amount of information provided it appears that you are having gastritis. The first and foremost treatment of which is life style modification like regular exercise, diet modification as advised and liberal fluid intake. Try having small frequent meals, avoid tea/coffee/carbonated drinks, avoid chilli, stop smoking and consuming alcohol if you do. Hope this solves your query. Try with these life style measures first.

How can I cure permanently diabetes mellitus from my body blood glucose level and the blood acidity. Is there any risk of heart attack for obesity, how can I get rid of this?

Mr. Lybrate-user, diabetes mellitus can only be controlled by appropriate medicines, proper diet (restricted diet) and regular exercise. If blood sugar is not kept in control (fasting closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <6.8.), then there is a definite possibility of serious long term complications in relation to eyes (retina), kidney, lower limbs, peripheral nerves and heart. Yes there is an increased risk of heart attacks in uncontrolled diabetes patients. Another important thing our blood ph is in the range of 7.33 to 7.45 which is slightly alkaline. Our blood always remains in this range. There no blood acidity.
