My marriage occurred on 2012. I have 2 sons from marriage onwards I don't have interest in sex I am not happy that and also irritating occur. I love my husband very much. When he touch me I am very happy. I do not live with out him so what can I do.

PhD Human Genetics
Hi, It happens to some women after child birth. You will benefit from CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) wherein you would be helped identify factors/ events that trigger anxiety /disinterest in you, what occurs in your mind at that time and how exactly you react to them and then you will be helped to overcome each of those issues. Sometimes, the treatment would be very simple and straightforward, some times it takes some time. Please try to meet in person along with your husband.

I had sex on 18 March and my last periods date was 24 Feb, this month I missed my periods, I don't know the exact reason for missing my periods, is it pregnancy or any other reason like stress etc?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Whether it is pregnancy or stress is almost impossible to tell, unless your urine pregnancy test is repeatedly coming negative after 25 March and even 7 days thereafter.

I have PCOD. I didn't get my periods for 2months and then I got for next month without any medication. I'm gaining weight from last 2mnth nearly 3 kgs .As of now I'm doing walking for half an hour. Please suggest me on how to reduce weight and cure PCOD. I do get small acnes which is not at all getting cured because of which my skin never looks clear .So please suggest any remedy for this.

General Physician,
PCOD needs medication and You need to have diet plan based on your BMI & activities. Whatever we eat is metabolised by the body for the energy needed to do daily work and the excess is stored as fat. Abdomen is the first place to gain weight and last to disappear. In brief, Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs / chest etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) Drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) Take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/2 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. And do aerobic exercises, running, jogging or at least walking briskly 3-5 KMs and swimming if possible, and in a gym if feasible. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise & dieting to take just as mush food as needed for your activities. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. People who lose weight slowly, about 1 to 2 pounds per week, are more successful at keeping the weight off. You'll also burn additional calories if you increase your physical activity.

She is four week pregnant, our doc took first hcg test which came around 305, so I need to know is it normal? We underwent 2nd hcg test also whose report we will get on monday. So is it compulsory tht hcg should double after 48 hours. Our gynac also recommended to take hcg injection. So it viable to take that.

Hello, yes it is necessary for hcg levels to increase by 65% to double in 48 hrs as this confirms the viability of the foetus whether the foetus shall survive/ grow further or not.

I need to know about the contraceptive pills which would be safe for my wife to use it regularly. As I'm not that fond of using condoms. Thanks.

International Academy of Classical Homeopathy, BHMS
Weight gain Clinical studies have found no consistent association between the use of birth control pills and weight fluctuations. However, many people taking the pill report experiencing some fluid retention, especially in the breast and hip areas 1. Intermenstrual spotting Approximately 50% of people using the pill experience vaginal bleeding between expected periods 2. Nausea Some people experience mild nausea when first taking the pill, but symptoms usually subside after a short period of time. 3. Breast tenderness Birth control pills may cause breast enlargement or tenderness. .most importantly Missed periods ABOVE ALL R D BAD EFFECTS OF PILL please THINK TWICE BEFORE U START.

I am not interested in having children. What alternatives to hysterectomy are available?

Minimal invasive surgery in gynaecology, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, DNB, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Hysterectomy is not a family planning method. There are various contraceptive methods like condoms, oral contraceptive pills injectable hormone etc. Those who have already had a child can go for intrauterine contraceptive device like copper t. Once family is complete permanent methods can be used.

Hi, I am 24 years married having pcos. Having regular periods. I had undergone various harmone tests and reported with elevated prolactin harmone. I want to conceive in next 2-3 months. Can you suggest me some measures so that I can conceive naturally

DGO, MD, MRCOG, CCST, Accredation in Colposcopy
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
You need to take medications to reduce your prolactin levels and start taking folic acid tablets. If you have regular 28-30 days cycles then having sex at midcycle gives you the best chance of getting pregnant.

Last month I got periods in march 5 now april 2 every month 7 days before I am getting periods I am not getting pregnant I need children give suggestion I want to conceive in this month is it possible or not?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
To get pregnant you need to have regular sex i. E. 3-4 times a week for one full year before you start seeking medical help. If you want to make her pregnant fast then you can follow this calender method. If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26 days) minus 18 days = 8th day. The longest cycle (31 days) minus 10 days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period.

4 Healthy Tips To Cure Thyroid!

MD, M.Sc - Medical Pharmocology

4 Healthy Tips To Cure Thyroid!

Thyroid disease is becoming a major health issue. 20 million Indian have some form of thyroid disease. We need to raise awareness and help others get to the root of their health issues so we can turn this trend around! Here are some of the steps and resources I used to help me while I worked to heal thyroid disease. If the list is overwhelming, think about finding just one change or resource each week. After about 6 months, you’ll have made a wealth of changes and will hopefully be on your way to better health.

Symptoms of Thyroid:

  1. Weight gain
  2. Fatigue
  3. Hair loss
  4. Dry Skin
  5. Depression
  6. Hoarse Voice
  7. Forgetfulness
  8. Intolerance to cold
  9. Mood Swings
  10. Heavy Menstrual flow

Find the some tips to cure thyroid at your own:

  1. Make sure you have enough Vitamin D as vitamin D linked with autoimmune diseases and reduce your stress in your life is very important to cure thyroid.
  2. Eat pastured, grass-fed gelatin, organic animal food, Foods derived from animals raised 100% on pasture (and wild animals) are anti-inflammatory. it has also been shown to benefit the digestive tract, immune system, heart, liver, muscles, and skin.
  3.  Eat saturated fats at every meal – I could go on for days about the many benefits of saturated fats from the right sources: organic butter, coconut oil, ghee, lard, tallow, etc. In a nutshell, they help reduce inflammation and nourish the body. Here’s a fantastic resource with dozens of peer-reviewed studies demonstrating the health benefits of saturated fats.
  4. Anytime you take a prescription drug, over-the-counter drug or get a vaccine, read the insert and know the ingredients you’re putting into your body – You might find gluten, egg, soy, bovine cells, pig cells, human cells, heavy metals, etc. used in these products. Depending on your condition, you might consider other alternatives.

Use healthy cookware and bakeware, Reduce your caffeine consumption, Eat unprocessed sea salt , Remove all sugar from your diet,Make sure you’re getting enough carbohydrates,Check Your Adrenals (Thyroid Test).

Last 7 years having pcod I conceived in 2012 with medication. I had suffered miscarriage by its own due to some choromose defect. Since then unable to conceive taken IUI three times. My husband had ED problem but his sperm report was okay last year. Now doctor advice to do YQ MICRODELETION test before going for IVF. Is it necessary to do a test & required at this stage? Pls help.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Patients with y chromosome microdeletion usually have less sperm count and presence or abscence of it does not change the outcome of pregnancy or pregnancy chances. If sperm count was very low then it was definitely a useful test but in your case it is definitely not needed. I think you should try for 3 more cycles of iui before spending a lot on ivf treatment.
