PCOS is common issue in reproductive age group. Have to check your menstrual history, thyroid, prolactin levels. If you r obese, go for lifestyle modification like diet and exercise. Consult nearby gynaecologist to check for follicular growth and try accordingly at time of ovulation.

All About Liposuction

Know the procedure and benefits of Liposuction!

I'm Dr. Sagar Gundewar, a certified Plastic Surgeon practicing at RTS Plastic Surgery Center situated at Kargarh, Navi Mumbai. Today I'm going to breif you about Liposuction, its benefits and disadvantages. So basically liposuction is a precedure used for body reshaping in which through small incisions, using a tube and canola we suck out fat from your body which helps in reshaping your body. There are various mechanisms by which you can do the liposuction. One is the Standard Mechanical Liposuction in which mechanical energy is used for the lysis of the fat. Then second is the laser liposuction in which we use laser energy for liposuction. Laser energy causes lipolysis of the fat.

Then there is another way which is called the Ultraonic Liposuction in which Ultrasonic energy is used for lysis of the fat. And finally in all three mechanisms there is a suctioning of the fat. Advantage of laser and ultrasonic is that it helps in better tightening of skin as compared to mechanical liposuction, otherwise all three mechanisms act in the same way, that is they remove fat from your body and they give shape to your body. So basically the procedure is done depending on which section it has to be done on. It can either be under local anesthesia or regional anesthesia or under general anesthesia. Most of the time this procedure is done as a day care procedure and once you are admitted and you are fit to undergo surgery, you'll be anesthetized and after thatyou will be injected with a fluorescent fluid and after waiting for some time, the fat is sucked from your body. Depending on your weight, maximum around 10% of your body weight, that is if you are around 60kg then maximum 6 litres of fat can be sucked from your body at one sitting. So different regions can be done at one sitting.

We can do tummy, arms, thighs at the same sitting. Once the procedure is over you have to wear pressure garments for 6 weeks and you have to take pain killers and antibiotic for around one week time. there will be swelling and bruising in the treated part which will be slowly reduced and you will start seeing improvement in your shape by 6 weeks, which will go on improving till 6 months. So if you are targeting to look better you should have minimum target gap of 3-6 months in your hand before doing this procedure, and this is mainly for the body reshaping and not for the weight loss procedure.

If you want any more information on liposuction or body reshaping you can contact us on librate.com .

You need to see a ivf specialist who will discuss further treatment with you. If a blockage in his vas deferens is producing azoospermia it is correctable by surgery.

Common Surgical Diseases

MS - General Surgery, MBBS
General Surgeon, Delhi

Good evening!

I’m Dr. Vijay Arora. I’m a surgeon at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. I had the department of general and laparoscopic surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

I’m very happy to be talking to you today and the topic that I have selected to give this small descriptive talk is surgical diseases. You will understand that there are many types of diseases that a person may suffer from. Some of these diseases may require surgery for its treatment and cure. Very often I find people who have a problem. They do not understand what exactly the required treatment is. All problems start probably with the same symptoms. Maybe pain, now if you have pain in your tummy and the diagnosis which is formed after an investigation is that you have a stone in the gallbladder or you have acute appendicitis or you have an ulcer and you are told that these things will require surgery. Majority of the patients at that time ask “is surgery necessary? Can it be cured with medication? Can I buy some time? Can I be relieved of my pain now? Yes! All these things can be done. Sometimes it is emergency and surgery is to be done urgently. Sometimes the acute problem can be controlled. You can have a pain, you can get a painkiller and then you know you have a stone in your gallbladder and you are told you have surgery done. There are many patients who say “I know I have a stone in the gallbladder but I have never had pain. Should I have surgery done?” as long as you understand that at the first sign of symptoms pain or any other symptom related to that disease you will come. Why it is that patients do not want surgery? Because of the fear that surgery can have complications and also many people feel why should I have surgery now? It will come back again. Some things do reoccur but some things do not. And my talk this evening to you is when you are told that it is surgical disease and you require surgery for care you can plan your surgery and that planned surgery will have better results than emergency surgery. So do not land up in a situation where you have to have emergency surgery. A person who comes with pain I diagnosed appendicitis I say that okay you have the surgery done there are 2 possibilities, one the patient becomes alright with medications, never has pain again and then he says,” oh! The surgeon wants to operate because he wants to make money” but on the other hand the person whose appendicitis ruptures and then it becomes peritonitis the whole abdomen is distended and he lands up with a bigger surgery and he is told you were told you have appendicitis do not ignore it. Either of these two patients may be the category you belong to. My suggestion is do not ignore surgical treatment when your problem requires it. And you can have another opinion, you can have two people come to the same diagnosis but unfortunately today patients’ do not come to the surgeons for second opinion. They go to some other specialists who may or may try to cure you with medications.

So my suggestion to you is when it is a surgical disease get cured by surgery. Do not ignore the option of surgical treatment. Thank you!

Cervical Cancer: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS, DGO
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Cervical Cancer: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Cervical cancer occurs in the cervical cells which are present in the lower part of the uterus. It is usually caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) which is transmitted sexually. However, in some cases, the virus may survive for a few years, causing some cells of the cervix to become cancerous.

Cervical cancer is usually classified into two types:

  1. Adenocarcinoma: This type of cancer starts in the column shaped glandular cells along the lining of the cervix.
  2. Squamous cell carcinoma: Most cases of cervical cancer are of this type. Here, the cancer occurs in the flat and thin cells that are present in the outer region of the cervix.

Symptoms: Usually, very few symptoms show up in the initial stages. However, the latter stages tell a different story. The symptoms at an advanced stage are:

  1. You may experience pain during sexual intercourse
  2. Foul smelling discharge from the vagina
  3. Bleeding from the vagina during sexual intercourse

Causes: Cervical cancer develops due to the mutation of healthy cells which makes turns them into malignant (cancerous) cells. The cancerous cells tend to grow at a fast pace, thus accumulating and forming a tumor. The cancerous cells may also spread to the adjoining areas of the body.

There are certain factors which increase your chances of being affected by cervical cancer:

  1. Too many sexual partners: The chances of cervical cancer increase significantly if you have multiple sexual partners.
  2. A weak immune system: A weak immune system makes you highly susceptible to cervical cancer.
  3. Lifestyle factors: Various lifestyle factors such as smoking can increase your risk of cervical cancer.

Treatment:
The treatment for cervical cancer involves the following:

  1. Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy involves injecting chemicals into the vein to destroy the cancer cells.
  2. Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy consists of using x-rays to destroy the cancer cells. Radiation therapy may be used alongside chemotherapy to destroy cancer cells.
  3. Surgery: Hysterectomy is a surgical procedure that is used in the treatment of cervical cancer. It involves removal of the uterus to treat this disorder. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.
