Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Dear lybrateuser, - Myofascial pain is a referred pain usually caused by the repeated use of a muscle which is the trigger point - to avoid it one has to identify the trigger point - to get relief you can take physical therapy, pain relief tablets, if still no relief then injectibles in the trigger point - the problem has to be prevented & will return if precaution is not taken.

Back pain can result from bad posture, a sudden jerky movement, a lumpy mattress or poor lifting techniques. It can also be caused by injury in a work place, by a sports accident or by muscular spasms. There are also many diseases and pathological conditions that can lead to back pain. These include abdominal or pelvic disease, anxiety, arthritis, cervical or lumbar spondylosis, dermatological problems, kidney disease, rheumatic conditions, tumours and scoliosis. Our modern, sedentary lifestyles have a profound effect on the development of back pain; indeed one of the most effective ways of preventing it is simply to stay active. An average adult in the India spends at least two hours a day in front of a computer screen or television set, and back problems can be triggered if they don’t sit properly. In an age of mobile phones and computer games, such troubles are increasingly inflicting children of school age as well. Top tips for back care: For back pain, better to see your Doctor sooner than later. Take regular exercise – your Doctor can say what’s right for you. Hours in one position can cause problems – avoid computer ‘hump’. During repetitive tasks, vary your rhythm and take frequent breaks. Adjust car seats and on long journeys, take regular breaks to stretch. Pace yourself with heavy work such as gardening – don’t risk a disc! Watch children’s posture – they shouldn’t carry bags on one shoulder or spend too long at a computer without breaks. Avoid strain when lifting, particularly small children and shopping. Your bed could be part of the problem. Seek Doctor advice on choosing a new one. Take a hot bath or shower, soaking in a hot tub, or using a heating pad, hot water bottle, or heat wrap that provides continuous, low-level heat are all ways to bring healing warmth to your lower back. I have neck pain from last 2 years. I have tried physiotherapy for 3-4 months. But it don't help. I am a 26 year old male and I work continuously on laptop/ PC. What should I do to prevent a serious neck related illness?

I have neck pain from last 2 years. I have tried physiotherapy for 3-4 months. But it don't help. I am a 26 year old ...
Neck pain in your situation could be most likely due to: 1. Poor ergonomics at workplace causing neck muscles strain. 2. Degeneration of cervical spine due to improper weight distribution during computer work. You should follow good ergonomics at workplace to get relief and avoid neck pain. 1 desk should have sufficient knee room so that one can sit close to the front of the desk. 2. The monitor should be placed at arms length 3. Desk should be at a height such that the wrists are maintained in a neutral position when using a computer with the shoulders relaxed. 4. The chair should be adjustable, padded to maintain the spine in a vertical or slightly reclined position. If the chair does not provide adequate low back support then a lumbar cushion should be used. 5. While seated on chair, the hips and knees should be on same level and feet should be flat on the floor. 6. Arm rests should support the elbows and forearms 7. The monitor should be positioned directly in front. 8. The top of monitor should be at eye level. It's preferable to use a computer instead of a laptop from ergonomics point of view. 9. In between work take breaks at 30 -60 mins and perform neck, shoulder, back stretches or take a simple walk.

Actually you are overweight and whilke standing our legs have to bear our whole body weight and if weight is more our legs will get easily exhausted,so reduce weight by atleast 6-8 Kg.Secondly I think you are not doing any type of morning walks or regular exercises due to which our muscles become weak and our legs muscles being under continuous stress, gets easily exhausted. So I will advise you to start doing a brisk morning walk regularily for 20-30 minutes. At start it will be problamatic for legs but with time everything will be alright.
