You can apply these home remedies for relief: • Take 1/2 piece of ginger, crush it and squze its juice and mix it with one teaspoon of honey and take 1/2 spoon of this mixture 2 times in a day. • Take 4 - 5 tulsi leaves and 1/2 piece of ginger and 1 glass of water mix both of them in water and boil it till half glass of water remain in the container then drink it by add 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. • Avoid cold water, ice creams, and pickle. • Take strepsils or sualiin (hamdard pharma) 1 tablet 3 times per day or slowly suck a piece of mulethi. • Doing gargles with lukewarm water it will reduce your pain.

Is Grilinctus BM syrup is safe for 3 and half months baby for his cold and cough?
Dear, For children don’t use combination syrups. You can use plain ambroxol syrup if wet cough is troubling. Better go to a good pediatrician and take treatment. Take care.

I am 38 year old, and have acute asthma for past 10 years or so, I take seroflow and maxi flo sprays daily. I started ayurveda just recently. But that makes me very tired and gives me soar throat. What do I do?

Dear, I dont know why are you using seroflo and maxiflo simultaneusly. Both the inhalers contain steroid which may lead to ulcer and sore of mouth if you dont rinse your mouth properly after use. As per your condition, I would suggest you to 1) take one inhaler as rescue medicine only when you will have severe breathing problem. You may use 200 mcg levosalbutamol containing inhaler. 2) one steroid containing inhaler like seroflo 250 regularly. Remember to rinse your mouth after use. I recommend to use a spacer device during taking puffs. 3) take antiallergic like montelukast and levocetrizine for 1 month 4) do regular chest physiotherapy. 5)absolute stoppage of smoking 6) avoid dirt, dust, cold exposure. 7)take annual influenza vaccine every year and peumococcal vaccine once in your life. 8) according to your response, you may also need a third inhaler like tiova, tiate and medicines like doxophyllin. Hope, this helps. Wish you good health. Dr. S. Modak

Hi Lybrate user. For IgAnephropathy depending upon the amount of protein loss in urine and level of kidney function along with biopsy findings, steroids with or without other drugs is prescribed. Usually the treatment duration is 6-12 months, hence the possiblities of side effects is low. Further you need to follow your nephrologist's advise.
