Hi. Is there any history of injury or hurt to the area? Any underlying medical condition? The pain in legs can be because of - muscle cramps (due to tiredness or dehydration), Shin splints (doing activity over and over on hard surfaces can bring this on. You may also be more likely to get shin splints if you have flat feet or your feet turn outward.Rest your legs to feel better. Ice helps), Tendinitis (you can get it from overworking the calf muscle or climbing the stairs, apply ice to get some relief), Sprains (do rest, ice, compression & elevation). Other causes are varicose veins, arterial disease, sciatica, diabetic neuropathy. Medication: Meantime, take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. And wrap crepe bandage over it. Get back to me thereafter.

Causes of backache or back pain: • A sedentary lifestyle • Age - older adults are more susceptible than young adults or children •Anxiety •Depression •Gender - back pain is more common among females than males • Obesity/overweight • Smoking • Strenuous physical exercise (especially if not done properly) • Strenuous physical work. • Lifting something in improper manner is a common cause of back pain . • Due to wrong posture during work. for example excessive bending or pushing back forward in long periods of time . • Due to infection in bladder specially in females ,and due to kidney problem .

My father weight is 105 kg n suffering from osteo arthritics. Doctors said to consult with ortho specialist rhematologist. He said to change the knee cap of both legs. Will it be beneficial? He is also a sugar patient Now what should I do?

Mr. lybrate-user, I have gone through the query, and understand your concer. One major difficulty is he is obese with a grade 2 obesity (BMI 35.23 kgs/M2). This is the major reason for osteoarthritis and diabetes. But due to pain in the knees he is unlikely to do any worthwhile exercise. In such a situation one of the best option is to look for total knee replacement (if affordable). Because post that he may be able to walk a considerable distance and work on reducing weight. At his age ideal weight should be about 65 kgs. So my suggestion is to consider knee replacement, strict control of blood glucose by using Insulin injections and later concentrate on weight reduction through exercise and diet. Thanks.

Nothing much to worry. You have not mentioned her age and does she have pain in other joints or body parts. And since how long she is feeling that pain. Sometimes the simple cause could be the footwear we are using. Ask her to start wearing Dr. Comfort sole chappals which we can easily buy from the market. Even at home she should wear this. STop wearing flat chappals. And secondly she can start doing footsoak in lukewarm water with a bit of rock salt before going to bed. It will overall relax her nerves and she will feel better.

For flat foot you can use medical arch raise, and for knee you can use knee brace, this will make your knee in full extension position. It will be better if you visit to ortho or physio. They will teach you some exercises for better muscle strengthening exercises and will suggest you proper knee brace.

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

Hi its use another person because your lower back pain you do rest some day you used heating paid, you can wear comfortable seliper & shoes you can take 10 days physiotherapy its best for you a physiotherapist give you heating paid, us, & tens/IFT + some exercise also you feel batter but rest is must all treatment give you benefit.

• Downward dog yoga stretch • Get down on all fours with your hands under your shoulders on the floor. Walk your hands forward slightly on the floor. Spread your fingers apart to allow for a broad base of support. Push your hips up toward the ceiling and tighten your abdominal muscles. Keep your heels on the ground and gently try and straighten your knees. Repeat 10 times a twice a day. Wall calf stretch • Stand about two feet away from a wall. Place the ball of your right foot against the wall while your heel remains on the ground. Slowly and gently lean into the wall while keeping your knee straight. Hold this for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Downward dog yoga stretch • Get down on all fours with your hands under your shoulders on the floor. Walk your hands forward slightly on the floor. Spread your fingers apart to allow for a broad base of support. Push your hips up toward the ceiling and tighten your abdominal muscles. Keep your heels on the ground and gently try and straighten your knees. Hold this for the 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment where a limb or the entire body is immersed in warm water followed by the immediate immersion of the limb or body in ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.

Hello lybrate-user pull your toes towards yourself and hold for 20-30 seconds. If you can't hold your toe try to reach it, and bend as much as you can. You can also use a band or piece of cloth to wrap around the toe and pull while bending. This helps stretch out the calf muscles and quads, and helps in relieve a cramp. Also please do relax for two to three days without givibg much stress to your legs. Also please do the following. Cold compresses when leg pain occurs after strenuous physical activity, you can simply apply cold compresses. This will help reduce the pain by numbing the affected area and control swelling and inflammation. Cold compress for leg pain-600 wrap a few ice cubes (or a bag of frozen peas) in a thin towel. Apply this pack on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes, while keeping the leg (s) elevated. Do this a few times a day.
