I have bow legs varus deformity with 4 degree bend and pain in the knee. If I start wearing supra calliper would my legs get straight and pain would go away?

At your age calipers are unlikely to correct the bow legs deformity. Most probably you will need surgery. In delhi we have good centers where it can b done satisfactorily. Contact me if you need my help.

55 years old female. History of back problem from 20 years. Present position is Uncomfort in legs every time, specially at night. Very Severe pain with pressure most of the time in legs which is unbearable. Little Swelling in legs and feet but it's painful while pressing them. Back is having less pain but legs are all time pressurized. Main problem right now is sudden pain starts upto the point of blast specially near ankle. Also unable to bend knees.

if swelling in your mother legs .go for right test i.e. LFT,KFT,CBC,BLOOD SUGAR(R),C-RP,LIPID PROFILE. TILL then you can use tab. lasilactone -25 mg once only.(stat.),syp. alksol 15 ml thrice a day. take plenty of water. after tests you can again consult.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Take proper rest.take hot fermentation. Avoid forward bending and lifting weights Avoid prolonged sitting and standing. Do back strengthening exercises.

This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

Hi I can understand your problem. # relax & stay positive. # take hot and cold fomentation. # learn posture care exercise. # use lumbar support. # take break every 20 minutes. # do strengthening exercise of back and core muscles not all back pains are same. Hi you need to consult a physiotherapist who will examine thoroughly the reason of your back pain. After examination you will be given pain management to relieve your pain with appropriate modalities and manual therapy technique. After which you will be put on core stabilisation exercises. Posture correction will be done if identified. Ergonomic advices will be given.

I would like to examine you in detail & investigate. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid, vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1 tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that you are not allergic to any of the medicines that you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days

Cervical spondylitis is due to the decrease of intervertebral space in neck causing pressure on the nerve root. In spondylitis there is chronic pain in neck during neck movement.Take crocin 500mg one tablet sos after food , apply hot fomentation,volini gel and take rest. Knee pains have nothing to do with the oral sex you had 2 years back. Both are unrelated to each other. Knee pains can be due to inflammation of joints. Or infections or deficiencies of essential nutrients.

Neck pain which increases on lying is pointing towards a non mechanical pain, needs further evaluation. Might need investigation which can only be decided after examination. Till then avoid jerks in neck movement, maintain a good posture, avoid lifting heavy weight.
