Few Insights First Palpitations are feelings or sensations that your heart is pounding or racing. They can be felt in your chest, throat, or neck. You may: Have an unpleasant awareness of your own heartbeat Feel like your heart skipped or stopped beats The heart's rhythm may be normal or abnormal when you have palpitations. Considerations Normally the heart beats 60 to 100 times per minute. The rate may drop below 60 beats per minute in people who exercise routinely or take medicines that slow the heart. If your heart rate is fast (over 100 beats per minute), this is called tachycardia. A heart rate slower than 60 is called bradycardia. An occasional extra heartbeat is known as extrasystole. Palpitations are not serious most of the time. Sensations representing an abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmia) may be more serious. The following conditions make you more likely to have an abnormal heart rhythm: Known heart disease at the time the palpitations begin Significant risk factors for heart disease An abnormal heart valve An electrolyte abnormality in your blood -- for example, a low potassium level so get your ECG, HOLTER & KFT done and send me all reports so I can advise accordingly.

You need medication only when your bp is high. In some people, doctor suggests to take it daily. You need to keep a check on your blood pressure. If it gets normal, well and good, if not, then you need the medicine everyday.

Hi, follow these tips to increase your blood pressure: 1. Increase intake of salt by adding salt to curds rice and taking pickles along with curds rice. 2. Drink plenty of fluids like nimbu pani, tender coconut, water, buttermilk, fresh fruit juices, etc. 3. Drink hot coffee or tea when you feel dizzy. 4. Take sound sleep for 7-8 hours at night. 5. Avoid standing for too long hours. 6. Do yoga and meditation which helps to relieve mental stress and control emotions. 7. Avoid anxiety, stress and depression. 8. Perform regular exercises. 9. Consume lots of fresh green leafy vegatables, fruits, sprouts, high protein diet, etc. 10. Check your hb% and bp with your family doctor and take their advise for further management. If your father is diabetic, the intake of direct sugars is very harmful; otherwise, it is ok.

High blood pressure is mostly asymtomatic. It's a myth that high blood pressure causes symptoms like headache. However very high blood pressure can lead to symptoms like blurred vision, neckpain, headache, shortness of breath or chest pain. Diet for high bp patients should be low salt containing, balanced for protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Fruits and vegetables are good.

How to control high blood pressure effectively?
What is the perfect veg breakfast?
Blood pressure arises from the resistance in your blood vessels to the natural flow of blood within them. So if you an maintain a diet that is healthy in fresh foods rich in vitamins, cow ghee, anti oxidants and alkaline foods, you can safeguard your overall health as well as BP. Ideally, breakfast should be or 2 large portions of fresh fruit of your choice and home made nashta with lots of dahi. Have a healthy Diwali. Best wishes.
