Dear Chandan, Gaining weight is as difficult as reducing weight. But if we know the right reason we can gain weight. Please share how is your appetite? What you eat mostly in your diet? How is your bowel movement? How is your sleep? Is there any stress in Life? What is oyur work profile? Are you taking any medicine for any problem? Have o=you undergone any thyroid profile? Please share the answers so that we can i diagnose the reason and advise you best herbal treatment. Till then take small pieces of ginger cut into slices and add sprinkle rock salt along with squeezing lemon juice. Lick or suck this ginger piece 15 mins before your meals thrice a day. Hello take 2 banana with warm milk in the morning. Add more protein in your diet like eggs, pulses, milk and milk products, sprouts. Do some basic workout every day. You can try whey protein powder after workout. You should take high calories food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Take frequent meals instead of 3 big meals. Your height and weight are well balanced. Why do you want to gain weight. Aim to be healthy and fit. When the right time comes, you will find the right person. Sir I had operated my ACL ligament of left knee arthroscopically which was fully teared before 1 month and 10 days ago. So till now I can not able 2 bend my knee 90 degrees, its about 100 degrees yet. Strength in quadriceps n hamstring is nt also that much satisfactory for which yet 2 walk without walker support. Some amount of pain is also inside when I lift that leg by self frm ground. So pls answer me is my progress satisfactory or nt, if nt then pls suggest me some steps which can help me for early recovery. Also tell in general how much time it takes 2 bend and walk completely.

You are slightly lagging behind, I aim to achieve 90 degrees at 2 weeks in my patients. Muscle strengthening takes time and patients may need walker support upto 6 weeks post surgery. I would suggest you to visit a physiotherapist as you need some supervision. It takes about 3 month to achieve normal gait. Sports is only allowed after 6 month.

I am 25 year old male ,i am suffering from weakness ,when I wake up in morning I feel weakness ,please suggest me what I have to do to overcome from this problem.

Dear, if you tired very fast and feeling weakness. Then you will definitely recover from weakness by following these very useful tips. * you should take proper balanced diet first. That means you have to take vegetables, milk, chapattis or rice, butter / cream, cereals (daals) or cheese every day. Very important thing, do not miss or skip your meals at any cost and take meals on time. * proper 6-8 hours sleep is very important. If your sleep is less than 6 hours, then you feel tired very early. So complete your sleep. * do breathing execises daily in morning & evening. Just sit down in peaceful place, close your eyes, take deep and long breaths in and out. Do it atleast for 10-15 minutes daily. You can also do pranayams like anulom vilom for better results. *take a walk, in first walk normally for 10-15 minutes for 15 days. You can do it on treadmill also. * you can take ashvagandha churn of baidyanath 1 teaspoon with milk daily for 2 months atleast to get your strength back. * check out your haemoglobin level in 3 months, if it is low you get tired early. So get treatment of low haemoglobin (anemia). If you have any disease like asthma /diabetes / hypertension, then get complete treatment of them. * avoid all fast foods and habit of smoking or drinking. You surely get great strength and recover from weakness by following these important things.

I have an accident & injured . My right knee have ACL tear. Dr. says surgery is only solution. Is this right? Is their any solution of recovery without surgery ?

It will depend upon the grade of tear. Usually grade 1 doesn't require surgery but grade 2 and 3 will have to undergo the surgery. Also post surgical rehab will be very important to bring back the normal strength and function.

I am 54 years male, daily regularly running about 10 kms and physically fit, my weight 60 kg and height 5.6. But problems is that I suffer every one or two month too heavy cold and it continue up to one week and it's disturb my all activity. Please give me proper advice.

It seems you are very susceptible to colds and flu. All you need is to increase your immunity. Take haridra khanda 1 tsp powder with a glass of hot milk twice in the morning before breakfast n evening at 5 pm. Whenever you suffer from cold inhale the mixture of cardamom powder and camphor tied in a cloth.

My mom is having knee pain since 10-15 years. Diagnosed with rheumatoid n osteoarthritis. She has diabetes since 15 years n now she is on insulin n sugar under control. Sometimes bp fluctuates. Can we go for a knee transplant surgery?

Dear you can definately go for the surgery. But before opting for surgery, I would suggest you to try ayurvedic medicines atleast for 3 months. Rx. 1. Tab. Rumayog gold - 1 tab twice daily for 15 days 2. Tab. Yograj guggul - 2 tab. Vatgajankush -2 1 dose twice daily for 3 months 3. Tab. Reosto - 1 tab twice daily for three months 4. I am 22 years male. I drink lots of milk daily. Nowadays I do hear that drinking milk is injurious to health stating that milk is forcibly secreted by cows by injections and so on. Is this true?

Good to hear that you drink milk alot. There are very less people I ever met saying same. Drinking milk is really good for health. You can have as many as you can it would not hamper your body. And yes nowadays you must have heard about the injections given to cows to secrete milk. So it affect your body but injections are given to not all places and in excess quantity. If you are worried that you can boil the milk for more than normal and then have it because it would not affect body directly. You can also have milk products like curd, cheese, butter. Those are also good nutrients. Good luck and have a healthy life.

Follow these best methods to easily gain weight and get a healthy body - * to gain weight, first take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calories food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of bournvita or complan powder with breakfast. * after 2 hours of breakfast, take 2 bananas or a bowl of boiled soyabeans. To increase your hunger & proper digestion of food - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after lunch * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. You can take 2 bowl of careals (moong/chana daal) on the place of curd or cheese. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 10-12 pieces of dry fruits or 3-4 pieces of dates (khajoor). * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. Exercise is very important so that muscles gain mass from the heathy diet. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid smoking & alcohol drinkg completely. I assure you that you definitely gain weight fastly by following them. Be healthy.

Sir I have been going to gym from last 1 year now, My friends are suggesting me to take protien. Is it ok to take protien powder? If yes, how should we take it? And is their any disadvantage of taking protien?

It is okay to take protein powder if you cannot fulfill your protein needs through diet. Take it after your workout. If the product is original, there are no such disadvantages.

Hi lybrate-user. Only taking large amount of food will not help increase weight, all you have to do is take proper choice of food which will help you increase your muscle mass and increase your weight. A proper diet plan will help you do that in healthy manner.

Jai jinendra sir, my name is Sumit jain and I am from kharagpur, west bengal. I have some issued and want your precious suggestion on the matter described below. I am 25 year old and I am facing problems with gaining weight. I am 6 ft tall and my weight is 58 kgs. I have literally tried everything from doing physical exercises to gyming and from eating as much protein etc. I do regularly eat banana with milk in every morning and I do exercises everyday. But I feel ashamed when I am so tall and my weight is so less. Now I think I am genetically made in this way. I am from a middle class family but I do eat properly and healthy. Jai jinendra, gaining weight should not be a problem. But as said, if your constitution is such, even if you consume lots of carbohydrates, your weight might not increase as expected. Moreover, certain people have high bmr (basal metabolic rate) which in turn can be responsible for your low weight gain. If you are not putting on the weight, the problem could be of assimilation of consumed food for which you can consult a good homeopath who can advise you for good homeopathic medicines.

Standing calf stretch Stand away from a wall and.put your fight foot behind you and be sure your toes are facing forward. Lean forward at the ankle while bending the right knee and keeping your heel on the ground. Hold this for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat 10 times a twice a day.

I am starting cardio to become fit but due to it I am having pain in my body what should I do?

that is because of lack or or less intake of water required by the body. so drink lot of water by mouth. have regular morning walk followed by free hand exercises and have balanced diet with lot leafy vegetables, cereals, and lean meat ,fish ,eggs etc it will be alright.

I'm going to gym and trying out body building for good fitness and body shape. But I hit gym by 7 AM and feeling very weak during workout. Gym trainer is suggesting whey protein supplement. Is it good for health or would it lead to any side effects in future? Please suggest a good meal plan so that I can do workout everyday for 1 hour or more. PS: I haven't gone under any medication. No allergies. No health issues. Age 24, Male, 70 kg, 5.5"
