Can be solved through acupressure/ acupuncture easily. Try this for 3 days. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening.

: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

MOST PROBABLY YOU ARE SUFFERING FROM OA OF KNEE. Knee surgery-TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT (TKR) is quite safe & gives uniformly good results, in our hands. We have well equipped center in DELHI. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Surgery should be done when patient is still active & will be able to take benefit of surgery. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem. Kindly show me x rays before a final decision can be taken. You will be thoroughly investigated before surgery is under taken. Risk in surgery is less than the risk in crossing road.

I having some pain in my lower back. I am cricket bowler and 20 year old. What should I do?

I having some pain in my lower back. I am cricket bowler and 20 year old. What should I do?
Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). Lie down on bed on your back without pillow. Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally.

My sister has pain in her left forearm for over a year. We have consulted orthopedics. But no relief and pain continue. Recently one doctor suggested to go for key hole surgery. Kindly advice us whether we can go for it and whether will be effective treatment. Whether will be costly. We belong to a middle class family.

Never go for surgery in haste. It needs to be investigated. For surgery delhi will be a better place. We have very good well equiped hodpitals working on reasonable rates.

In July I got a sprain and since then I am staying away from jog or any physical activity that pressure my sprained ankle, rigt leg. Can I do household chores, will it cause more pressure on my ankle. How long will it take to heal. My doctor examined and said it might be a muscle tear. What could I do to recover faster. Please advice. Female, 27.

Hi, I am a regular runner and I make sure 1 hour of my day is spend outdoor and active. I jo 3 km daily, toe jogging....
Good to know that you have an active routine. I wonder why you are doing 'Toe jogging' It does not help at all. Just run naturally. Your injury will heal in 3-4 weeks. Give it rest. Don't worry about labels like 'muscle tear' etc. Everything will heal. You don't have to stop completely, but your pain will indicate where to stop. Take extra Calcium and Vit D. Take more milk and milk products. Women are prone to Osteoporosis, though you are still young for that. However its better to take precautions. You can consult a Homeopath. They have good meds for such injuries. Take care and you will be back on the track soon.

I'm having ankle twist when I played football. What should I do to cure the pain.
Hi ~use elastic bandages (such as an ace bandage) to wrap your ankle. ~wear a brace to support your ankle. ~use crutches for walking till swelling and pain subsides. ~keep your foot raised above your heart with pillows when resting or sleeping to reduce swelling. ~get plenty of rest and do not put weight on your ankle. Still you don't get relief than visit physiotherapist as physical examination /xray may be required for further investigation. Do reply for detailed treatment plan. Wishing you a good health.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I need to know the elaborate history from you so that I can understand cause of pain, duration of joint pains and any associated symptoms like stiffness etc. There is a workup for polyarthralgia ( multiple joint pains ) which needs to be done if history and clinical examination point to it. At this age I would like you to get some tests like cbc, esr and crp levels done. Also kindly tell whether thyroid profile and calcium, vitamin d levels have been done previously or not? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. This is acute low backache and if your pain is only localized to your back with no other symptoms: then initially I will advise you: - rest for 3-5 days - ice packe at home 3-4 times in a day local analgesic spray (dynapar qps ) for local application - anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant for 5-7 days - to maintain proper posture of your back initially at all times - physical therapy with modalities only, once pain subsides, then gentle back exercises can be initiated. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings your condition should actually become better if you follow what I have advised in next week to 10 days. In case pain does not improve or increase or there are any other neurological/systemic symptoms which appear, then you may contact me. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
