I often get pissed off, merely couldn't control my anger. When I feel depressed on small issues my thoughts easily take me to hangout in bar. How could I over come from boozing.

My TSH count is 8.96. I am using thyronorm 50 mg. Is it a right tablet.
Kindly advice.
lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. For hypothyroidism treatment that is the right tablet. However, the dose being taken is not adequate. Because when on treatment for complete control of all symptoms of hypothyroidism TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. With a level of 9.96 mU/L, most of the problematic symptoms will continue to be there. Thanks.

For best treatment dermaroller or meso therapy for skin tightening and removal of melasma and wrinkles consult any cosmetic clinic for that but expensive treatment White glowing skin is a dream of all females and males which is a largest organ in our body that must be treated with a lot of care. The main causes of dark skin are - ? Exposing to sunlight for a long period of time, ? Lack of proper nutritional diet, ? Dehydration, ? Hormonal imbalance ? Improper production of melanin content and ? Pollution.. All we need is to protect our skin from further damage by just following some simple and natural solutions. ? Follow these best tips to get normal and natural pink lips:- 1. Moisturize your lips you must keep your lips moisturized if you want them to stay healthy and therefore pink. If you are going outside, try applying a bit of petroleum jelly or lip balm and if you are inside, use some milk fat (ghee). 2. Use pomegranate seeds and milk. Another simple way to lighten dark, dull lips and create a beautiful pink color is using pomegranate seeds. Crush up the seeds and mix it with some milk cream. If you apply this home remedy to your lips regularly, you will start to see them becoming redder and fuller. 3. Apply cucumber juice another great way to reduce any darkness on your lips is to apply a bit of cucumber juice. Simply slice a cucumber, rubbing it against your lips to allow the juices to soak on. If you do this for five minutes each day, you can lighten dark lips to a beautiful pink color. 4. Mix rose petals in milk. Rose petals are another one of the great home remedies for pink lips. Simply soak some rose petals in milk for a little bit of time. Then use the petals to make a paste, adding a few drops of both glycerin and honey. Apply the paste on your lips and wait fifteen minutes before gently rubbing it off using milk. This remedy can produce amazing results.

Is Dentistry Expensive!

Is Dentistry Expensive!

Is dentistry expensive?

One word answer to this will be a No!

Dentistry is not expensive, delay is.

Usually we dentist recommend to come for check up every 6 months, but we all are lazy especially for our own health. Going for a picnic or going to mall is all right but going for health check up is a big no.
As a result the small cavities which were possible to treat in 1 sitting, half an hour & less expense turns into a deeper cavity, reaching pulp & causing painc  & that is when we run to our dentist. We do get calls at midnight or early morning when we are not out of bed! pain is there since 2-3 days but now it has become severe! most of the time tooth requires root canal treatment or extraction.Patients do complain very time I come to you, you suggest root canal to which my reply is only time you come to me when you have pain.
Now the same tooth which was possible to treat in 1 sitting becomes 6-8 sittings, half an hour becomes 5 hours & expense becomes 8-15 times.

I am 32 years old, last year in the month of june I removed my left ovary due to ovarian cyst which is dermoid. Since last 6 to 8 months I am suffering from pain in the left side in kidney along with pain in the muscles of both legs.

Is Postmenopausal Bleeding Normal?

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Ghaziabad
Is Postmenopausal Bleeding Normal?

Most women attain menopause between the ages of late 40s and early 60s, the average age being about 51. This is an important milestone in a women's gynecological history. One major change is altered female hormone levels, and this leads to a lot of physiological changes. From hot flashes to mood swings, there is also increased predisposition to osteoporosis and uterine cancer.

If you have not had your menstrual cycles for close to 12 months, chances are you are into menopause. So, that means absolutely no vaginal bleeding anymore whatsoever. However, if you experience bleeding, even spotting, be on the alert. It is not normal and needs to be examined, and if required, diagnosed and treated.

Postmenopausal bleeding or PMB, as it is popularly called, can be due to a variety of reasons. While it could be something as trivial as inflammation of the uterine or vaginal lining, it could also be an indication of more severe issues like cancer.

  • Atrophic vaginitis: Decreasing hormonal levels lead to increased dryness and therefore inflammation of the vaginal and uterine tissue. This is one of the common causes of bleeding after menopause.
  • Endometrial atrophy: Also caused by lower hormone levels, the lining of the body of the uterus gradually thins down and can get inflamed.
  • Polyps: Noncancerous growths in the uterus, cervix, vulva, or vagina can also lead to bleeding.
  • Infections: General infection of any area along the uterine tract could lead to occasional bleeding.
  • Cancers: Though only 1 in 10 PMB cases turn out to be cancers, the prognosis improves with early diagnosis and intervention.

Diagnosis: As repeated above, reach out to your doctor if you notice postmenopausal bleeding. Diagnostic methods could include the following:

  1. Physical examination
  2. Transvaginal ultrasound
  3. Endometrial biopsy
  4. Hysteroscopy
  5. Dilatation and Curettage

Treatment: Needless to say, this would depend on the diagnosis. For very minor cases with diagnosis like altered hormone levels, no treatment may be required other than modification of the hormone replacement therapy. For endometrial atrophy and atrophic vaginitis, use of estrogen creams and pessaries would be sufficient. Polyps would require removal followed by cauterization (application of slight heat) to stop the bleeding.

Cancer: This would depend on the type and location and require a combination of chemotherapy and surgery.  Removal of the uterus also may be required in some cases. So, if you have had bleeding of any sort after a year of menopause, do not ignore it.
