Their are good chance of you to getting pregnant because age is on your side. Live healthy and stress free lifestyle and you can start folic acid if you are planning, even after one year of efforts you fail to conceive then you might need medication but till then just relax and keep on trying.

When you are looking forward to reduce weight and increase the chances of conceiving, try not to look for extending your family until you lose weight, as losing weight is an overall lifestyle management, it's not just regarding food consumption. Consider taking expert advice.

STDs.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are caused by infections that are passed from one person to another during sexual contact.

These infections often do not cause any symptoms. Medically, infections are only called diseases when they cause symptoms. That is why STDs are also called "sexually transmitted infections." But it’s very common for people to use the terms "sexually transmitted diseases" or "STDs," even when there are no signs of disease.

There are many kinds of sexually transmitted diseases and infections. And they are very common — more than half of all of us will get one at some time in our lives. Use the list above to find out about each kind of STD.

The good news is we can protect ourselves and each other from STDs. Practicing safer sex allows you to reduce your risk of getting sexually transmitted diseases. And if you've done anything that puts you at risk of infection, getting tested allows you to get any treatments you may need.

Can I know in a month what r the days when have sex have low chances of pregnancy. It's before I have period or after I have periods. Can you explain me in detail.

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
It depends on your menstrual cycle. If its 28 days long then 14th day is the midcycle and 5 days before and 3 days after that is unsafe period means avoid sex between 9th to 17 day of cycle. Although these are indicated for most of the women, it varies individually. There are other methods which must be taken under the account.

9 Possible Factors Behind Vulvodynia

Advanced Infertility, MIS TRAINING, FICMCH, PGDS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS

9 Possible Factors Behind Vulvodynia

Vulvodynia is a medical condition in which women suffer from chronic pain in the vaginal area without any cause. Even today, women don’t often go for proper diagnosis for vulvodynia because of the societal pressure due to which doctors and researchers are still not able to find out the exact cause of vulvodynia.

Types of vulvodynia
1. Generalized vulvodynia: This occurs when there is immense pain in different areas of the vagina. It can occur once in a while or the pain can be constant. Slight pressure or touch on the vagina can make it worse.
2. Vulvar Vestibulitis syndrome: Pain generally occurs in the entrance of the vagina. A burning sensation is felt when pressure is applied on the vagina or during sexual intercourse.

Possible causes of vulvodynia:
1. Irritation to the nerve or a nerve injury can increase the risk of vulvodynia.
2. An infection or a trauma in the vulvar cells can also give rise to abnormal responses which might cause vulvodynia.
3. The vulva can also respond poorly to inflammation due to genetic factors.
4. Yeast infection and hypersensitivity can also cause vulvodynia.
5. Muscle spasm
6. Irritation or allergies to chemical substances.
7. Hormonal changes like menstruation or menopause can also cause vulvodynia.
8. If you have a history of sexual abuse or rape, you are more likely to develop vulvodynia.
9. Using excessive antibiotic can lead to the weakening of the cells around the vagina.

Symptoms of vulvodynia:
1. Rawness, stinging or burning sensation in the vagina.
2. Soreness or acute aching sensation in and around the vagina.
3. Throbbing can also occur on the vagina if you have vulvodynia.
4. Itchiness in and around the vagina.
5. Pain can either occur once a while or all the time during vulvodynia.
6. Walking, exercising or having sex can also cause immense pain in the vagina.
7. The vagina can also ache while walking, sitting or exercising.
8. Discomfort can be felt on your entire vulva.

Vulvodynia can impact a woman’s life greatly. It can disable her ability to exercise or have sex. Vulvodynia can also make her withdraw from her social life or work. It is of utmost importance to book an appointment with a gynecologist as soon as possible if you have vulvodynia. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Hello Lybrate User, Different types of infections may cause itching or an abnormal discharge in the vagina. It is associated itching or irritation. Causes include - Infections spread during sexual contact. These include chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis. Vaginal yeast infection, caused by a fungus. Normal bacteria that live in the vagina that overgrow, causing itching and fishy odor. These are few reasons behind vaginal discharge and redness and itching. Follow this tips - * Keep your genital area clean and dry when you have vaginitis. Make sure to seek help from health care provider for the best treatment. * Avoid soap and just rinse with water to clean yourself. Soak in a warm but not hot bath may help your symptoms. Dry thoroughly afterward. * Avoid using hygiene sprays, fragrances, or powders in the genital area. Use pads and not tampons while you have an infection. * Allow more air to reach your genital area. Wearing loose-fitting clothes and not wearing panty hose. Wearing cotton underwear (rather than synthetic), or underwear that has a cotton lining in the crotch. Cotton increases airflow and decreases moisture buildup. * Know how to properly clean their genital area while bathing or showering. Wipe properly after using the toilet -- always from front to back. Wash thoroughly before and after using the bathroom.   Along with that take homeopathic treatment. When a woman experiences no relief from external treatments, a homeopathic remedy to balance the vital force will help the particular infection. If you want to take a homeopathic treatment consult me privately on Lybrate. Take care.

I am 6 months pregnant and my gynaecologist says i have low lying placenta. Is it risky situation? i want to have a normal delivery. Also i have to commute 2 hours one side for my job. Can i continue it till the end of my pregnancy.

MBBS, DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
Gynaecologist, Jamshedpur
If the usg is done around 20-24 weeks, low lying placenta is a possibility ,but its an ultrasound finding only. You need not have to worry as long as there is no spotting or bleeding. ,mostly its temporary ,as the pregnancy advances and relative increase in uterus size takes place, placenta become normal in position.Repeat USG at around 30 weeks.U may continue your job as long as you are asymptomatic .
