How long should I wear compression stockings to improve my circulation of blood ? What are compression stockings for? Give me suggestions.
I am 19 years old, female. I want to convey you that before 3 years my periods began to happen and upto 1 year I was not having any pain during periods. Periods were happening on time. But after 1 year my periods became irregular means in a month I was facing 2 periods; one within 15 days and another after 21 days. I consulted doctor and it was found that I have a cyst on right ovary. The cyst was about 6mm and was surgically removed and during that operation my appendix was also removed. Then after everything went good but as periods became regular again but pain continues to be there during menstruation. After 1 year of surgery I again faced irregular periods and again consulted doctor for the same. I did ultrasonography but nothing was there of any kind of cyst or something. She gave some medicine and it went away but happens really. My blood-pressure usually remains down and head-ache continues in all days. Can you help me in maintaining blood pressure and give me some way-out to get rid of pain during periods and also from irregular periods.

The last part of the digestive system including the rectum and the anus is a highly vascular area. It receives a rich blood supply, and there could be swelling or tearing of these blood vessels resulting in anorectal conditions, piles, fistula, or fissures. Seeing blood in the toilet bowl can be an alarming thing. Read on to know how these occur and how to manage them effectively.
Piles: The swollen blood vessels in the anal region are referred to as piles. These can be internal or external, based on the distance from the anal canal. The ones which are farther inside the anal canal are called internal piles.
Why they occur:
At the outset, piles present as painless bleeding with stools. This can be painless, and if left untreated, they can continue to grow and develop swelling and clotting.
Treatment: This would be two pronged with medicines to treat and food habits to prevent further growth of piles
- For pain relief, topical medicines can be used
- Dietary habits should be modified to include fiber-rich diet, with loads of fruits, whole grains, and vegetables
- Processed and refined foods should be avoided
- Hydration is very important in treatment and prevention
Fistula: An infected anal gland bursts into the anal canal, discharging pus constantly into the anal canal and becoming a fistula. This is mainly caused by unhygienic toilet habits and healthy toilet habits can prevent fistulas.
- There is a constant discharge of pus, giving a constant wet feeling. It could also be intermittent, with completely dry spells in between
- There may or may not be pain, but when there is pus discharge, there could be a foul smell
- Prevention is very easy and should be followed. Healthy toilet habits can help avoid fistula formation
Diagnosis and Treatment:
- Prevention is the key in anal fistula
- In severe cases, since this is internal, surgical correction may be required
Fissures: Cracks in any point along the length of the anal canal are called fissues and are very common. These are very painful and the person may dread going to the toilet.
- Fissures are very painful, and a person with fissures usually refuses or avoids going to the toilet
- In severe cases, there could be bleeding too, though in small quantities
- It is often self-limiting
- Lifestyle changes like switching to a fibrous diet and adequate hydration
- Topical ointments for pain relief

People who are constantly troubled by the fear of physical illness or who excessively feel worried about their health are commonly referred to as hypochondriacs. This phenomenon is called somatic symptom disorder, also known as hypochondria or hypochondriasis. Despite the evidence of medical tests proving that they do not suffer from any disease or illness, hypochondriacs are perpetually worried about their health. This is mainly because of their misinterpretation of minor health problems or normal body functions as something serious. Somatic symptom disorder affects both males and females equally, and it usually happens during early adulthood.
Causes and symptoms: Their complaints may range from minor issues like pain or stress to more serious problems concerning breathing or headaches. Hypochondriacs rarely try to deceive themselves, and they genuinely believe that they have health problems, however unrealistic their beliefs might be. The exact causes are indefinite and unknown, but they generally arise from considerable physical or sexual abuse in their early childhood. Moreover, parents or close relatives suffering from the disorder may also induce such fears into the child, who would eventually behave in a similar pattern later in adulthood.
Diagnosis: Diagnosis of the disorder can be very troublesome, mainly because of their inherent conviction that they are suffering from physical illness. However, the disorder can be treated through proper supportive care or psychotherapy. Antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs are also used sometimes.
Dealing with the disorder: Hypochondria can often lead to a chronic condition, which can be long lasting. Although there are no definite ways of preventing it, there is one method to reduce the intensity of the symptoms and help patients cope up with the disorder. It is by providing them a supportive and understanding environment, one in which they can fight the distress and trouble that comes along with the somatic symptom disorder. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a psychiatrist and ask a free question.
